You are the complaining that the game isn’t a different genre. It’s an open world game that has linear missions. That’s like getting upset that a platformer isn’t a shooter.

Also the game has tons of gameplay improvements because game feel is really important to the dev team. The gameplay is the best thing about it tbh.

@@PointingouttheObvious it's a game that does not play to the strengths of an open world. We have had open world games like Elden Ring and BOTW but Spiderman 2 feels like your generic Ubisoft open world. Why waste resources on something so weak. My point is that the game does not NEED to be open world. It's nice that you have expressive movement but what good is that movement when you can't challenge yourself in different interesting environments. Creating interesting underground levels would have been a better use of resources than making the open world larger. We don't excuse this s*** with Assasins creed but we give Spiderman a pass after 2 games and a $300 million budget? Nah, Insomniac needs to do some soul searching.

@@PointingouttheObvious The game feel is a great improvement but the open world is still the same repetitive stale situation as Spiderman 1. There are no new mechanics and even the side activities (stealth and car chases) have been dumbed down. The game feel is great but it much shallower plus there were too many slow walking sections trying to tell a story that could be told with actual gameplay or with a short 3 minute cutscene. Bro they had $300 million dollars and they produced a game that has less interesting, smaller and repetitive content than cheaper games.

I prefer open world Spider-Man games because I cause swing around the open world and fighting bad guys the traversal and the combat is the best part of the game
