"We get attached to what success will look like." That's so real and I'm still figuring that out. I have a background in Film and thought I'd work in Hollywood forever. But then the opportunity to live abroad with my family came up so I left. Still doing Film but it's making videos with the fam right now. I've had to adjust to how daunting it can all be, living in East Africa, but so long as I got my people with me and I stay flexible, I feel like I'll be okay. It's been a good ride so far and I'm excited about what 2023 has in store. And we had our own challenges too, so you're 💯 right, your move doesn't have to be perfect. Thanks for the video! (Josiah)

Thank you so much Zoe for your openess and advice! I can so relate with plan B, C etc but also one has to be open minded and accept changes to sometimes adjust the initial plan. Relocating to a new country is a new adventure in itself!!

Thanks for your video always informative and realistic. I moved back to 🇬🇩 in 2020 with my daughter as a single parent and so happy I that I did do this move it really was the best choice for us. I would just like to say to any one thinking of moving abroad don't overthink it go for it , don't tell many people of your plans they may sway you not to do it, of course have some kind of idea how you are going to survive financially, don't compare living in Grenada 🇬🇩 to the western world otherwise you will be annoyed upset angry often. People do not rush in the Caribbean so having patience whilst waiting for services plumber, gardener, builders, conducting business etc, learning to have patience is a must. Go with the flow move around the island to familiarize yourself with the island and it's people most of all enjoy your move and don't listen to negative comments or have negative energy around you. Wishing you all the success in your new move and adventure.

Hey Vanessa, always a pleasure to connect with other single parents who've made moves! Grenada has definitely been a game changer for us too... Couldn't agree with you more about making sure not to tell too many people about your relocation plans. Naysayers can be very draining and sometimes they'll continue with their negativity long after you've upped sticks and moved 😆 Staying focused on your goals and finding ways to get the support you need is essential. Fingers crossed I bump into you and your daughter in Grenada soon 🤞🏾

Thanks for your candor, and encouragement. Will be there soon! I have been visiting Grenada, Guyana, T&T and a lot of other islands around and surrounding, from 1973 to now. Lots of adjustments, and more to come, since then! My allegiance to Grenada is strong. There will be lots of adjustments and patience to learn.

The gun crime is increasing rapidly in Grenada , yesterday someone got shoot , I have also noticed the increase in the dancehall music culture , just check the Grenadian dancehall artist. Like G Ras. Singing about mur@er is very worrying , any increase in a tiny country has a huge effect , government needs to take action now

Yes, if wealth inequality continues to widen and youth feel there's no legitimate livelihood then crime and violence will rise. Everyone has a part to play in addressing this, not just the government in my opinion.

@@ExodusCollective Yes true , but the government should be making opportunities for the youths , what has happened to agriculture? It was prosperous in Times of MBishop . All they ever seem to worry is tourism nothing else :so yes government has a big part to play

Yes I am aware of the shootings as I watch the news and look at social media. Dancehall has always been played in Grenada it's nothing new. There's plenty people can do for themselves without always depending on the government. Anyway is this channel starting to become political now Zoe?

@@vanessaswann244 not on my end. There's nothing in the videos that mentions politics. If folks want to discuss politics in the comments, I won't censor them but it's not an aspect of life in Grenada that interests me much 🙂
