My 6 and 11 year olds woke me up at 6am (australian time) to let me know that the latest nintendo news was that the mario 3d collection was coming. My 6 year old spent his birthday money on the pre order download. Mario is basically immortal.

This package will meet my nephew’s expectations considering he wasn’t born when these games came out. I’ll be happy to relive some old memories plus have a handheld option and HD...win-win

They’re all new to me. Getting 3 games I’ve never played for $60.

I just don’t understand why Nintendo is making this “limited”. This will sell for years without a problem but once they stop production, all new fans of Mario won’t be able to play these classics unless they pay scalper prices.

The fact that Sunshine is getting love is reason enough to support this beautiful game. It is one of the most creative and beautiful Platformers ever made.

I've already pre-order my physical copy a couple of days ago and I have no complaints what so ever. If the people are mad about it than it's their problem.

I’ve never played any of the games in 3D All Stars, so I’m just happy that I can now play them on my Switch

People need to calm down a USED copy of sunshine alone is worth $70

Really my only disappointments with this is that they didn't use the DS version of Mario 64, which has a bunch of additional content, and the limited release of this game.

Nintendo fans can differ with their opinions, but personally I feel excited as a fan to see this 3D all stars game come out to bring out classics from previous Nintendo consoles which the new generation of fans did not get to experience. I hope they do similar things with the Legend of Zelda Franchises and Final Fantasy with super packs so fans can enjoy all the games together in a special edition set. A lot of fans go crazy collecting these games individually so to be able to play them together is a joy. I am still very interested to see what Nintendo will do after the Switch which would be the Nintendo 8- I call it Nintendo 8 since it would be their 8 to compete with the Playstation 5 and XBOX Series One. I hope they really step it up all the way after the Switch because if they do that then they will regain their home console dominance once again. I don't want a Switch 2 which would be disappointing, as I hope Nintendo go out there very best after the Switch and blows everyone away

What if they secretly had mario galaxy 2 in the pack the whole time and they kept it a secret and you had to beat mario galaxy 1 to unlock 2

Really, the one thing I wish that would be added is to be able to play the DS version of Mario 64 so I can play it that way with better controls.

I love how everyone when it got shown was so excited and the as time passes they found more and more things to hate Edit : plz understand that it is remastered and not just a port . I was hoping for remakes of the 3D Mario games as I still have my wii with all those games on there. But for the people that have never played or have been wanting to replay these for a long time will be exited. If the scalpers don’t get to it before December.

Now i can finally play Mario sunshine, i've had enough of Mario 64, binge played it on the 64 and the nds version too, the same thing also happened with M galaxy, so it's kind of expensive to pay 60 just to play sunshine :(

I'm happy with this version, it's what I wanted. Nintendo already made a HD remaster of 64 and Galaxy for the Chinese market with Nvidia so wait for that if that's what you want

I was honestly hoping for a high res version of Mario 64 like the same treatment they did with ocarina and majoras mask. Also the mario 64 ds version that had luigi, wario and Yoshi playable would have been a nice addition. Also adding Galaxy 2 would have been nice

I’m so glad I was able to preorder everything coming in this 35th anniversary, but I wish the pckage included the ds version of Mario 64. I’ve played through the original so much that I don’t know if I’ll be up for another go at it. I’m probably alone in this thought tho.

I'm looking forward to it. Gamecube games are insanely pricey right now, so I'm especially looking forward to playing Sunshine. It would have been cool if Galaxy 2 would have been included as well, but oh well. Still looks great.

Nintendo in general is making fans mad.

You need to remember, that all these games still have been remastered - none of them have been officially released in HD before. Personally I see it as a neat way of both preserving and celebrating the individual art style of each era, while still making the art styles a bit more slick and nice to look at without completely changing them. If Nintendo had remade SM64 and Sunshine with the same engine and style from Galaxy (or maybe remade them all with the art style and engine from Odyssey) each game wouldn't really feel like its own thing, like this historical collection and their own individual preserved chapter in gaming history - the collection would seem more like one big game, just with different themes and levels, which would take some of the charm and nostalgia out of it. After all, each Mario from all his different 8 and 16 bit-incarnations to his first clunky polygonal look, are often celebrated with different skins in games or on merchandise etc. Even though I would love to experience a completely remade SM64, with perhaps the graphics of Odyssey, instead of just an upscaled remaster, I still like what they did with their more preserving approach in a collection like this - now all we need is also a HD remastered release of Galaxy 2, and then hopefully actual full remakes of some of the first 3D Mario's later down the line.

I preordered mario 3D all stars yesterday morning. I actually can't wait when it releases!

I think 3D all stars is great 3 games for the price of one but people like to overlook that part

The thing about 3D All stars is these are much bigger games than the 2D Mario games, which is pretty obvious that that would a long long long time to build from the ground up, Also, people are acting like this is the only thing for the 35th anniversary, There are other things such as products (such as lego and board games) clothes (shoes and outfits) and other games like Super Mario bros 35

This is like a dream come true for me! My absolute 2 favorite Mario games in 1 game, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64! If only it had Super Mario World, it would have my 3 fav Mario games, but I know, I know, it's all about 3D games only. But my biggest dream would be for Nintendo to make Super Mario Sunshine 2! That's my #1 favorite Mario game of all time. It had beautiful graphics for its time and amazing controls and gameplay.

The limited window release is a telltale sign that the value of this compilation is not $60. How do you get your audience to pay more for a product? You increase its perceived value. Some companies use aggressive marketing and others prefer artificial scarcity. By limiting its availability, consumers will feel the urgency to acquire the product and will probably be willing to pay more for it. That’s my only issue with this compilation, everything else is just nitpicks.

The original mario all stars was all about upgraded classics, 3d all stars are upgraded but SM64 is unfortunately going to be the odd 1 out just because they're allowing an unofficial port show them up

I was saying another Super Mario 3D All-stars could be released including Super Mario 64 DS, Super Mario 3d Land and Super Mario Galaxy 2 but thought maybe it would 've better if instead of Super Mario 64 DS put Super Mario RPG HD Remastered but that would require cooperation with Square-Enix. But it would be awesome either way if they at least got 3D Land and Galaxy 2 in a second collection.

My big issue is the limited release. I'll have to wait and see if I'll end up getting it by March.

3D All ☆'s came out of nowhere for $60.00 I would of gladly paid $35 for SM64 alone on the switch.

I’m really looking forward to the 3D all stars I grew up watching sunshine and 64 but never got to play so it will be interesting to see if it as good as I remember

I am fully behind the backlash this collection is receiving. The whole limited buying thing is ridiculous and they should have done more for the games. A lot more.

Not worth the $60 for me. I already have these games, so there'd be no reason for me to buy this collection even to play on Switch. Not to mention the originals play very well enough on the platforms I have them on.

The thing that’s annoying me most really is that the extra content from the DS remake of 64 isn’t there. I know it’s not tons but I loved the extra characters and the mini games! And the mini games are still totally doable as the switch works in handheld mode and has a touchscreen, but it could easily be adapted for the tv! But essentially I just want to be able to play as other characters here and there!

Honestly I don’t understand why people are complaining, Nintendo did NOT have to give this to us. There is no reason to complain.

There seems to be a lot of confusion between what marketing decides and what development teams decide and how that dictates a product’s cost. I’m sure the limited release is due to the fact that it is a celebration for their anniversary. Somebody in marketing probably thought that was a cool idea and in a way, it is but it will suck for those who can’t purchase at this moment. Development is usually given a certain quantity of hours and asked to decide what features they do and do not want to implement inside of these games within that given hour limit. I’m sure there are a lot of developers that worked on this that are grumpy they didn’t get to do certain things as well. It is the nature of the beast. If you let us devs work forever to our view of what it should be, you would never get a product. I’m sure N64 Mario being in an old aspect ratio is due to some extreme changes in code that they just don’t have time to make. This is all conjecture but knowing some of the history of coding in Nintendo, harsh code environments would not surprise me as a limiting factor.

I see why people are complaining but I don't understand it I think it's better to not have them completely remastered because then it wouldn't hive the nostalgic feeling from when I played them as a kid. And I have played all 3 of these games many times in the past but these games are so good that I am very excited with playing them again! I pre ordered it as soon as the direct was over. One more thing tho, I have a feeling that the reason why it is a limited release is because I believe that Nintendo might actually be adding these games to the switch separately through the online subscription OR OR Nintendo Is planning to make Full 3D remasters of these games but it will take a bit longer, OR something tells me that Nintendo didn't forget about Galaxy 2 and maybe for fans who love the Galaxy series, we might at long last Super Mario Galaxy 3 for the switch. But anyway I am so very excited for Super Mario 3D All Stars!!

I wasn't a big fan Odyssey so the fact that they're releasing these games on the Switch makes me EXTREMELY excited.

I don't get why people can't criticize Nintendo even at their worst. It is sad that you have to explain Nintendo fans that they can disagree with them. Imagine the backlash if EA announced a product like this. And a window to buy it even digitally? Why does Nintendo always get a pass?

I keep hearing about the moaning from nintendo fans about 35th Mario Anniversary games but let me ask you this. With Microsoft and Sony set to release next generation consoles in the coming months what can Nintendo do to make sure their current gen console still sell? The answer is to released a timed game, make it urgent for people to buy the game and those people who are nostalgic towards Mario64, Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy to go out and buy a console and the game when people are looking at next gen. I think nintendo have been very smart ensuring the steady income over the Xmas holidays.

No hate here : i will personally buy the game no matter what and I love Every mario game and I am still excited to play Sunshine and Galaxy again cause its to me nostalgic and I will enjoy it

The only thing I could complain about it is no Galaxy 2 which makes it feel honestly incomplete. But in all honesty Galaxy 2 is just more Galaxy and if one title had to be removed from the 4 that one was the easiest to forgive. Other than that $60 for 3 remasters of some of the best games of all time is great value.

Any genuine mario obssesed fan would be happy to have 3 classic games come back to the switch . I personally always wanted Nintendo to bring back sunshine to the switch considering it was a game cube game only and the fact that there could be an amazing sequel to it and Nintendo should do it justice is enough to make u play the game again. Galaxy one and two wasn't bad felt like a prequel to mario odessey but I like the oddballs in this and thats sunshine 💕

My issue is the Analog controls of Sunshine. How they plan to adapt it is beyond me.

The argument of “what’s the problem, just go buy it now” is such an inside-the-bubble assessment of the situation. That mentality totally ignores the millions (tens of millions) of people who will buy a Switch over the remainder of the system’s lifetime, but won’t be able to buy this collection of games. It’s one thing to limit the physical retail version of this collection, but to limit digital sales is so anti-consumer, and had any other company done this, they would have been crucified, and rightly so.

The thing I'm most concerned about is this becoming a trend. This collection's already selling well, so Nintendo or other publishers may release limited games like this in the future, even for digital versions, which I think is terrible.

Seems these were more remasters than remakes from nothing. Probably should clarify that.

Part of the charm of playing Mario 64 today in a 4:3 aspect ratio is that it was the screen ratio of the time. This release is about nostalgia (for those that played it) and keeping the same experience for those that didn’t - it’s not a remake. I’m glad they kept it as it was.
