Considering we’re the only role that begins to master vision at the lowest elo and have to learn this like the back of our hand to even mildly pretend to begin climbing, it’s actually really shitty to have to always hear support guides and advice from non-support mains on this channel. I think a lot of us came from pro guides because they suck. Well here we are! Back in the bullshit. Explain to me a world in which as a jungler main you would listen to a support main at your elo attempt to guide you on how to play jungle. Even the smallest idea that a jungler at high elo would listen to a high elo support for advice is laughable. Yet supports of all ranks are expected to take this advice as canon, when instead we could’ve had, oh I dont know, an actual support main present us with a guide??? There’s already a dearth of support content on the two main league advice channels (SkillCapped and ProGuides), so seeing something like this in the title, and then having to sit through the first 20 seconds is nothing less than disgusting. And from then on, we get baseline, simpleton advice for supports. These are things you can even learn at low elo, easily, through experience. I just can’t understand why this is even a possibility. No other lane has to see stupid ass shit like this.

against junglers that don't respect normal vision lines, I think it's more important to ward points of interest that indicate which side of the map the jungler is on. usually camps that are taken before ganks such as raptors/krugs. this includes junglers like nunu/nocturne/eve/kayn.

Truth. I'm learning Kai'sa. Literally yesterday I had a Lux who stayed under turret, didn't ward and flamed me for warding drake pit. When she would go into lane it was right on me, no formation or lane control. We lost and she reported me for "going in willy nilly" smh. Next game was a Blitz who knew his champ and gave me the kills. I carried the game and was finally able to put her kit to use without inting. A good sup makes all the difference.

One major tip I have myself that I don’t see a lot of people touching on for lower Elo is the ability to identify a team mate or one’s self moving in to a position with a high likely hood of fork(flank) potential by the other team. On my few accounts I’ve climbed out of bronze and silver with I constantly have to look out for teammates trying to move from mid inner turret in to enemy jungle perhaps chasing someone where it’s clear there could easily be a fork in store for us few if we followed behind and remained. As a zyra support main I play around my ult and especially when I hold a bounty. I made it a strong habit of mine to constantly ping my ult timer and availability maybe 3-4 times a minute. If I put myself or anyone else in a forked scenario and I have enemies coming at me from 2 opposite directions then that limits my ult effectiveness drastically if I am forced to do so and many other abilities. It is optimal to have the enemy all stacked. So my advice as a mage support is play very smart and consistent positioning as a back line artillery and if u ping that u have 20 seconds til ur ult is up prior to what u feel could be an engage that usually sends a message to ur teammates that they should take care

Yeah I recently switched from jungle to support and found that my more global centric map awareness has come in handy. I’m playing engage sups, mainly Alistair, and watching enemy supports walk right into my vision line only to get picked feels so good. Because I’ve started on a fresh account I’m getting pinged by silvers and golds with ? Whenever I’m sitting in my warded areas nearby instead of damaging dragon. When teams are even it’s so much better to take drake and get out than to risk a coin flip fight.

The video is only about vision, I still don't know how to not die during team fights. I feel like my team COULD win the fight with my help but enemies usually prioritize killing me first. I don't know if my position is bad, I usually try to stay behind, "out of reach" but it means nothing when the enemy can jump through half of the map just for me, or get invisible, they still get me even if I flashed. It's very frustrating and I'm asking myself"what did I wrong?" And I feel like the only place safe is the base, cause obviously even towers mean nothing.

Just out of curiosity (and i know this is some 12+ months after the fact) but when extending a Vision Line, is it a case of placing fresh wards despite already being at the max of 3? ie: if ive already got my 3 wards and a Pink down around the river line, in order to push my vision line further, am i to place more wards and thus override the ones ive already put out, thus negating the original river line in favour of a now deeper opposing jungle line? Also, its been my experience in the last week in coming back to the game that Junglers are the only other people who ward effectively (outside of laning phase) and that Supports tend to die more often because the opposing team opts to negate their CC/Utility asap when engaging in a team fight (being squishy doesnt help either)

Hey skillcapped could you make a video on how to play as a tank in lthe top lane? I feel like any bruiser/ranged champ/ assasin i play against just clears 3 waves in under 30 seconds then roams and wins the game. Meanwhile I take more then twice the ammount and so the enemies collapse on me or my enemy top laner backs and calmly farms all those waves I pushed. He then just rinse and repeats and we loose the game cause I have no waveclear as a tank even with bami cinder

Is there a higher elo response to this question on why I die so much as support? I do not main support but everytime I autofill I die a lot; and although I'm fully aware some deaths are because of walking alone where I shouldn't, most of the deaths feel like Im just not tanky enough. I have a decent understanding of how the game works and something that impresses me a lot is how pro players perma roam early game and fall so far behind on levels, and yet, they seem SOO TANKY. Im specifically talking about the mid-game because early game is mostly wave management to avoid bad trades, but I see it so much on pro play with supports being 4-5 levels behind at min 10-15 and yet soaking up so much damage. To me it's either I die to get my team ahead or it feels like Im not doing my job. You mentioned this is normal for engage supports but I still end up 0/15/20 praying for my team to carry with the lead I give them (and they almost always do, which is why it feels so weird to me that I have to put myself in such a disadvantage to give myself a bigger chance at winning) I guess the real question is: as an engage support, is there a way to not die (or die less) during midgame engages while still getting your team ahead?
@murphyevans6154
@murphyevans6154 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm a Gold support main, and I mostly play enggage supports like thresh, leona, nautilus, rakan and rell. I hardly see some of my deaths are due to being "not tanky enough" because I always analyze who I am up against and think of the ways to counter them, specifically through items. For your question regarding avoiding deaths during midgame, I just realized that I often force my way to escape the fight AS SOON AS I REALIZE THAT I HAVE SOAKED MOST OF THEIR DAMAGE OR IF I HAVE LANDED ALL MY ABILITIES THAT WILL CC THEM AND MAKE MY TEAMATES DO THEIR THING. After that, I wait for my cds or stay in range with my team to activate my Locket or Heal while still out of the fight. I know that I'm just a Gold player and my opinion may not be considered, but I hope this helps 💗

I main Leona (A very balanced champion, I know) and the answe to why engage supports seem so tanky is aftershock. Leona W plus Aftershock lets me 1v1 the enemy Nasus who is 3 levels ahead of me, under enemy tower, while the enemy jungler tries to make a difference, realizes they're almost dead literally just by standing there and backs off and runs away and while I lost, that fight was closer than it had any right to be

You can ward the river bush from over the wall from lane. It doesn't end up very deep, but if you are worried about someone being there it's a good choice. You need to stand in a cleft near the wall and click just past a rock in the waterfall feature. Give it a try in practice tool. There are a few warding tricks like that, but that one is great in my opinion

I’m thinking this is more towards engage support? @AdeptoDiChuckNorris
@AdeptoDiChuckNorris 2 жыл бұрын
Most probably bad jungling, since you don't have a direct lane opponent that outplays you. Dying as a jungler in the first 15-20min (at least in low elo) is mostly due to poor decision making: you forced a bad gank, you tried to take an objective without vision and lane prio, the enemy jungler invaded you... Basically 90% of your deaths could be avoided by having map control and good decision making as a jungler. As a laner it's bit different, especially as a support since you're in a duo lane and if your adc has a potato brain you will be playing 1vs3

Shallow wards and vision lines are all a big crutch to further avoid learning to use your eyes and brain. Players in lower elo oftentimes just miss or misuse a lot of direct and indirect onfo on the map and make risky plays. Yeah, the security of having 100% failproof extra ward that will alert you to an enemy is nice, but it's redundant if you use your head to figure out that a missing laner or a jungler that hasn't shown in 4 minutes might be in the area.

I usually go "Yea I shoulod NOT have been there!" whenever I die while warding, but feel free to roast me anyways, I need it. LucyKitsune, Bronze II, EUW Also I would like to add that usually I die while trying (and failing) to protect the ADC Because they mistake my desparation "Fuck you guys, you're not going anywhere until I'm dead!" play for a "Yea we totally got this 2v5, just follow up ^^" play, which it isn't
@Slash-XVI
@Slash-XVI 3 жыл бұрын
Having been on both sides of those plays, it is really difficult to tell what the other player wants at that moment without having voice chat. Sure 2v5 might be an obvious situation, but that is very rarely the case and deciding whether you can maybe win that 2v3 against their support, jungler and adc when you are reasonably ahead in the span of one leona e is actaully quite hard.

@@murphyevans6154 I could probably cut my deaths in half if I stopped sacrificing myself for teammates who are seemingly too dumb to run away and just bail on them whenever the fight is unwinnable... Don't really die a lot when warding... I never really see people when warding, except for the enemy support in which case we'll either start emoting and dancing, or do this awkward more or less fight where neither party wants to fight and we both want to ward, but also want to stop the other person from warding so we just have this really awkward stare-down until backup arrives. Oh and that one time the enemy jungler thought they could kill me, by being a ranged champion and starting by walking within Leonas Melee-range. So a bunch of vision, 300 gold and a scuttle-crab richer, I returned to midlane.

@@lucykitsune4619 very true!!! HAHAHA you will often see in games that support players tend to tease each other when they see the other supports 😂 I really enjot that kind of interaction. In terms of bailing out from your adc, it's a good move. Remember that it is better to have one ally be killed than both of you getting killed. They should know proper positioning since they are the ADCs. Not gonna lie, sond ADCs are just dumb and blame us afterwards for their unreasonable actions.
