Whenever Pirates got a free-kick near the 18 area, we all KNEW Benni would score it! This is a team that had great set-piece takers like Daine Klate with about 70% free kick scoring ratio.

He knows what he is doing but I'm sure he will do good assisting ETH more to learn and improve the players training His career is very good, no wonder Manchester united is performing so many good assisting coaches

I remember Benni McCarthy In Portugal, I had never seen a striker like him at the time, and I supported the rival team he was playing coz I’m a Benfica fan, I felt confident against any team but when came to Porto it was different coz OF BENNI AND MANICHE that duo was just too deadly for the best teams in Europe let alone for Benfica… if u didn’t watch him at Porto then u missed his prime, the guy was better then Falcão when falcão came to Porto

Am glad nd bitter.... am glad he played for my team...Orlando Pirates here at home. He was lethal nd he was still underrated. Am bitter he was sidelined by the then coach Roger de Sa.Thats when he decided to hangup his boots even before he had planned to. Used to go watch this legend at Johannesburg stadium where they used to gym. He played football with his his heart.

McCathy was a good player, and a good coach. Unfortunately South Africa no longer produces this calibre of players😴. Why doesnt England FA choose assistant coaches from former national team players? I cannt recognise any of those assistants to English national team coach on the bench. At Qatar 2022 World Cup, only Thiery Henry (with Belgium national team) stood out among assistant coaches as having contributed to French soccer

Most players use pure talent to play the game. Players like Guardiola used their brain more on the pitch. It's those players who become good coaches. See Benni, he was talented but not as skillful as Ronaldo etc but his greatest asset on the pitch was his positioning and awareness.

As a youngster, every young football player wanted to b Benni, because of what he became and growing up in a poor gang own suburb call Hanover park,I was very x for Benni on 2 occasions,1st was when he score 2 goals against Manchester United on a Champions league game,. 2nd was when he was supposed to play for Ajax Cape town but when the league started he sign for our biggest rival Orlando Pirates,but you are forgiven, Benni (Cape towns greatest)

Since Benni it went down😢, that guy took out Man Utd to be the only South African with a UCL medal, we don’t have strikers who top the goal scoring charts, and Benni did not help the situation because he never really played in SouthAfrica, he left a baby for Europe, you ask South Africans many didn’t know him , til Jomo called him up for national stage. He was a star he knew how to play football and score
