Where did you see mentioned that it is now permanently in the ocean and not floating?

agreei don't think they have to be in every game's story, heck not even necessarily all the mainlines games stories, as i some stories without them can be fine. for instance assuming in an alternite universe where colors and lost world had well written stories i think the chaos emeralds not being in those is fine, but then them not even being mentioned in something like forces is just wrong

It's actually funny how the "origins" bring up even more questions. For example, If the Chaos Emeralds come from space, then what was the origin of their connection to the Master Emerald?

I'm guessing they thought eggman disposed of sonic body but still silver still rival sonic and has a super state. given the context they still they should have gathered all seven to stop eggman and infinite with or without sonic

I think why you mean is, that the problem is some of the fans 😅

We got Shadow the Hedgehog because of the fans. We got Colors because of the fans. We got 4 because of the fans. We got Mania because of the fans. We got Forces because of the fans. You can think whatever you want about the games I just mentioned, but they are undeniable proof that they _do_ listen. The _actual problem_ is, and always has been, execution. Generations and Mania are the only ones that are universally praised, while everything else is head-bashingly polarizing. Might be hard to believe, but during the 2000s, many people didn't like many of the aspects that are currently praised, looked back on fondly and, frankly, in certain instances, pretty romanticized. Eggman summoning an eldritch abomination to take over the world? People were tired of those. Darker/more serious plots? People laughed at those. Basically any character besides Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and _possibly_ Shadow? People _hated_ those. For all intents and purposes, Sonic Colors was a game made specifically to please the fans. And now look at it. Only used to bash the writing by bring up _one_ bad joke that was only used 3-4 times across 10 years. It's all gone full circle. The people who grew up during the 2000s have become everything the thing that they hate the most: obnoxious, nostalgia-obsessed elitists who are willing to completely ignore anything good that came from an era just because it's not the thing that they want. I'm not trying to say that the games from the 2010s shouldn't/cannot be criticized. They absolutely should be. The bad characterization of certain characters, the plots being simple in the _worst_ possible way, the gameplay not really improving since Generations, and many other valid criticisms can be aimed at them. But their flaws should not excuse any of the flaws of the 2000s or the 90s games. No era is better than the other, and they're all just as flawed, though in different ways. Don't get me wrong, I'd _love_ to see the Emeralds be the main focus again. I'd _love_ for the stories to be more serious. --Hell, despite how botched it was, Forces was a step in the right direction imo-- I'd absolutely _LOVE_ for other characters to be playable and be developed more. But here's the problem: All of those elements mean _nothing_ without the proper execution. SEGA/Sonic Team doesn't necessarily _need_ to appeal to any fans of any era. They just need to do good with what they have.

The problem is also critics like IGN, Metacritic, etc. you saw Sonic was never good to begin with and fans who are majorly obsessed with the classic generation of Sonic games, nothing against those who want to the experience their 80s childhood/younger years again, but what I am against is those who give unnecessary hate to everything Sonic became from the 90s to 2000s

The only game where they were an important part of the plot in the last 13 years was Generations iirc. It’s not really that there is a belief they are permanently gone. Just, under-utilised and forgotten.

Forces was still an underwhelming game

Well, while I can’t answer for “People”. I can say that for this video, we’re talking about mainline games that do/don’t use the Chaos emeralds as part of their narrative. And as a guess for “people”, I’m thinking maybe not everyone thinks Black Knight is on par with Unleashed/SA1/SA2. But on a personal level. I think being a Wii exclusive hurt Black Knight because it meant less people got to play it.

And I don't understand why people are suddenly acting like Black Knight is so special? It was OK at BEST! The sudden ridiculous amount of love it's getting recently reminds me of how Unleashed used to be hated before suddenly becoming a fan darling in recent years. Round and round the cycle goes.
