@@kazuyazw6783 ya but mando is very diciplined... Man has literally lived his life to an arbitrary code of existence not even showing his face to others. It may not be the Tar visla mando way, but it's defintally disciplined. If I had to guess it is more of a "worthyness" aspect. The criteria it is based on is if the wielder fits the values of the original mandaloria (Tar). Part of that is being the best warrior hence why "winning it in battle" is an important value. Why then does mando get rejected? Simply because his belief system is likely viewed by Tar as a mockery of Mandalorian society and Tar does not respect it. It's not a matter of good and evil, it's a matter of if the wielder is someone the blades creator would respect.

@@kazuyazw6783 So I take it you are dropping dicipline/self-control out of your opinion and just leaving the reason as emotion? Only problem with emotion is what does that actually even mean? It's such an arbitrary concept and needs something to latch onto for what is "accepted" emotions. Sounds a whole lot like worthyness to me as the blade seems to be accepting people with a similar mindset to it's creator. Mindsets change with emotion, you can hate and love on a dime, and it is often temporary (blind rage etc)

The black color used to, in legends, represent personal ambition. Not a dedication to the light or the dark, the dichotomy of the force. But rather ones own personal goals, without ideology attached. For right now, black color seems to represent attachment to a people, ethic or idea beyond the force. Which I am thoroughly down for. Basically, white blade with black edge, casting a shadow/ swallowing light around it. Dark saber has a black core, but it casts pure white light, right? Regular lightsabers have pure white core and cast colored light. What if a saber had a white core but cast un-light/dark/shadow/whatever you want to describe it? That was always my kind of personal star wars dream- anti-lightsaber. The core could be of any color really, but i think white would look cooler with black around it. Like imagine it gets darker in the room if it's "lit" up. Even more, imagine that if the room has sources of light and it's "lit up" in the middle of the room, anyone and anything there would cast... lightows... shadow-lights? You know what i mean, shadows of things and people being lighter than the surrounding. Sort of reverse-shadow colour scheme. Like it just casts darkness. By the way, dark saber reminds me of a black hole with accretion disc. Black in the middle, light around it.

Once the Armorer stated that Djin needed to redeem himself in the Living Waters under the mines on Mandalor, the origins of the Darksaber became clear. While the tradition of the Children of the Watch is no longer practiced among Mandalorians, during Tarre Vizla's time they would have followed their traditions. If Tarre (helmetless) trained with the Jedi, the mortal enemies of Mandalor, then there is only one way he could have redeemed himself and went on to become Mand'alor. He must have visited the Living Waters under the mines. So what did we learn about water and minerals in geology class? Minerals can dissolve in liquids, then precipitate back out into pure crystal form. So in the Living Waters deep below the mines we will see pure Beskar crystals, the same thing Tarre Vizla used to construct the Darksaber. Which is also why the Darksaber is the only lightsaber than can damage Beskar, like only diamonds can cut diamonds.... My guess is that the crystal weapon we saw the beast drop after Grogu knocks him out of the cave in the trailer is pure Beskar crystal. Remember, metals ARE crystalline.... AND Djin mentioned to the Armorer in Book of Boba that the hilt of the Darksaber is constructed of a quality of Beskar he has never seen. I also believe that it is in the Living Waters where Grogu will find the crystal for his saber. This discovery of pure Beskar crystals is also what will unite the Mandalorians again, and will be used to produce armor for generations of new foundlings. This is the Way.

As kyber crystals as well as most other crystals used in lightsabers are force sensitive would that imply that besker is also affected by the force?
@BluhmGardens
@BluhmGardens Жыл бұрын
@@johnathanbrandt2526 well, technically the Force is part of everything in the galaxy, so I would initially say "yes". But I believe a theoretical Beskar crystal would vibrate at a much different frequency than Kyber, which is why the Darksaber is the only lightsaber that can turn Beskar steel red hot. Keep in mind that all of the alternative materials used for lightsabers are in Legends, Kyber is the only canon material so far. The main reason I believe the Darksaber will be the first canon saber to use something other than Kyber is that it has singular characteristics that stay the same regardless of who it's wielder is, so those traits cannot be explained the same way that Kyber crystals are affected by their wielders. With the Darksaber, it seems like the wielder is affected by the crystal more than the other way around. We never heard of a lightsaber being heavy at al, and are often considered lighter than expected. Not so with the Darksaber, it seems to increase it's own gravity while Kyber sabers decrease their own gravity.

I always thought that the Dark Saber was meant to be a representation of the Dark Side being contained by the Light. I remember seeing one video theorizing that the Dark Sabre is some form of spacial defect rather than a standard lightsaber. For example, a Cosmic String or Black Hole. A cosmic string a km long has more mass-energy equivalent than the entire earth. A portion only about a meter long, like the Darksaber blade, would still have an absolutely enormous mass (.1% of the entire Earth, but more massive than some moons), but we do see that it can apparently change its apparent weight, so that's not necessarily a problem. They'd have huge energies, which might explain how the Dark Saber can effect Beskar so much. As a blackhole, it would explain the blackness of the blade, as a portion of the Event Horizon, somehow flattened into a blade. That white glow would essentially be an accretion disc. That being said, a black hole with the size of the Blade would be absolutely massive, far more than the mass of a similarly sized cosmic string. A black hole with a diameter of 2 cm has more mass than the entire earth, and the Dark Saber has more than that most likely. I personally like the theory that it's a cosmic string. At least as a scientific explanation. But, we are essentially dealing with space magic, and the blade is essentially Excalibur. There's no reason it needs to abide by our rules.

In the original canon, the black lightsaber was only found on a Sith planet (Sith as in the species) and would be like the way the Darksaber looks, but the blade is a standard lightsaber, except it was the only one that generated heat, where normal ones requires a touch for said heat. The way that the Darksaber is definitely cool because it has an Excalibur-type property like the story of The Sword in the Stone where whoever drew the blade would be king.

When there was theories about his views on Force and true loyalty for his people etc. Remains me about knights of eternal empire, how they believed in their emperor and not light and dark side (they knew about them, but didn't really care, used both without care, while staying loyal). Maybe for Force user is most important believe in something and live according it, that live according philosophy of on side. It's form of bond that both side forbids, but can have great efekts that can surprise both side(knight, Vader) . So this Saber could be stronger than Jedi and Sith lightsabers, because these bonds, but can be more limiting and demanding that normal weapons.

This saber surly does have a mind of its own. It was heavy in Sabine’s hands seeing her as unworthy, of course not winning it from Maul, and carrying a lot of mental baggage with guilt of leading the Empire to subjugate her own people. Now it sees Din as unworthy, because of him trying to relinquish the blade without having a proper duel along with not wanting to be the leader of Mandalore. Maybe the process of transferring ownership of the saber isn’t a factor in why it becomes unstable for someone to use it properly, yet I see Paz Visla also have problems using the blade despite how much larger and strong he is physically. Still, the mysteries of the DarkSaber continue to allude us. Hopefully Season 3 will shine just a little more light on why the blade deems some wielders worthy and some not.
@kennethdawson7774
@kennethdawson7774 Жыл бұрын
I think it's less "having a mind of its own" and more that the saber's crystal reflects the mind of the wielder in how it behaves. If you are afraid you are unworthy of the leadership role that the saber brings with it, the blade resists you. Once Sabine resolved to pass the saber and the burden on to a "worthy" sucessor and fought just to save her family, she could wield the saber without much effort. Similarly, Din doesn't want to lead Mandalore. He just wants to live his life and care for Grogu, and he sees the Darksaber as a huge complication to that goal.

It would be tempting for them to explain the dark Saber in the Mandalorian season 3, but I believe it would be a disservice to the Star Wars universe if they do. Part of the allure of star wars has been the many mysterious plot elements and world building that makes it feel like it really is set in a universe with a very long and mostly untold history. I suspect season 3 will reveal more about the Saber, but also that it will deepen the mystery surrounding it. From a storytelling perspective, this makes it more valuable as you can keep expanding on it and thereby keep it interesting in every story. From the Franchise perspective, its greatest value is in its mysterious past allowing it to craft new characters in new series across any period of the Star Wars saga including the deep past and the far future. If I were advising the writers, I would say that the dark Saber should develop like a character in the story that is older and more cryptic than Yoda, one that has less obvious loyalties and values, and that has abilities that are mostly unknown to everyone, but most importantly has the power to change with time and experience. Make it as mysterious as the force while most often seeming as mundane and commonplace as a droid until the moment it decides its destiny most often in the least expected ways and without ever explaining itself. Let it become the object that guides stories, but without the story ever seeming to be about the Saber.

here's an idea. what if the blade isn't sentient of it self but rather Visla. hear me out. at the time it was likely crafted the idea of becomign a force ghost was not common knowledge (or even known at all). what if, while loyal by oath to the Jedi, his heart was so strongly bound to his people that he perhaps delved into some darkside practices. most notably, what if he through some alchemy and deep meditation actually became ONE with the saber. it would explain some things, like its apparent sentience and loyalty to Mandalor as well as perhaps this "curse". its well know that sith spirits exist, and is the only way one fully immersed in the darkside can remain after "death" by tethering themselves to an object. these objects are also often "cursed", in that the will of the bound spirit can affect the force much like they could whilst alive but at a much deeper level. this would also explain why, even if you didn't strictly "win" the saber in combat or try to reject the responsibility it wont immediately reject you by default. it seems to "test" its would be wielder, traditionally through combat but perhaps not exclusively. Maul won the saber and took the mantle yet it is implied it rejected him, only being able to use it at all because he himself was force sensitive and trained in the darkside (i.e to have a dominiative will, likely wrstling with the blade and holding his own from the perspective of the force). inversely, prior to truly earning the blade in combat, Seben found a connection with it once she let go of her own resistance and started thinking and acting for the good of her people, which lends credence to the idea that its not "winning" the blade thats key but "earning" it. just that by mandalorian tradition that usually meant combat. its plausible that, where she to come into possesion of the blade, Setene may too have been (reluctantly) accepted by the blade, were she ever to wield it. alas she never got the chance (side note. that scene shows why Obi-Wan was as close to the "perfect" jedi as any alive at the time could probably be. he didn't stifle his emotions but rather had them under control, letting himself feel the pain of her death and yet also allowing himself to let go without turning to anger and hatred. you can see he didn't hate maul for it but felt sorry for him, that his life had brought him to the place where he would do that. while still not as clear headed as his master its clear Qui-Gon taught him well whilst he could). as for the crystal itself, i dont think Canon has "different" crystals anymore but some aspects of that legends concept have carried over with the "bonding" between a force sensitive and their crystal(s). perhaps the dark saber is something unique within the force. born of the dark but bound to the light. two halves held in balance until its ignited, at which point the emotions of the wielder fuel and raise the differential, pushing light and dark apart. this would explain why it has the lightning sometimes. when you push into the light or dark it separates the duality in the force. as its not the light or dark that has power but rather the pull towards equilibrium (balance) the more you push one way or the other the more it pulls back, drawing in energy and the force from around it, darkening the blade and at the pinical of divergence possibly even extinguishing a lightsaber crystal itself just by crossing blades. (thats why you cant have someone use the light and dark at the same time normally. you can only push so far in both directions but can push harder if you go one way or the other. only reason the Chosen One(s) could appear to do it is because they themselves become the anchor point, by which stage they may as well be a force entity, like "The Ones" or Bendu, in and of themselves rather than a force user. at full potential Anikin would likely be as powerful as "The Father", if not more so). if the blade itself wer in fact imbued with the spirit of Visla then perhaps he too could push the other way, creating this BALANCED divergence and making the blade so much stronger. as for his loyalty to the Jedi, personally i'd like to think that he left on neutral terms for reasons similar in principle to how/why Douku left, though without strictly falling to the darkside. it seems likely he would have been a "late initiate" and presumably around the age luke was in ANH

I like the concept that Tar Vizsla's first loyalty was to his people and not the Jedi, and that The Force and his Kyber crystal knew it also. I've always thought that the Darksaber uses Dark Matter to fuel it. Dark Matter makes up 85% of the total mass of the universe, might also explain the weight, gravity and mass react differently with it. We only know Dark Matter/energy is there because of the gravitational effect it has on surrounding objects, if one could tap into that? They would have access to enormous power that no one else could match.

I love the total overkill that is Beskar armor, canonically a warrior can die inside a suit of it just by the sheer impact of an explosion (kinetic force) before it's even dented, ever, which kind of serves as a sort of intimidation thing too, I pity the fools that see a Beskar suit and think "yeah, I can kill that guy with a lucky blaster shot" LOL

If the blade does have an innate loyalty to Mandalore it makes sense that it’s fighting Din. He currently doesn’t even believe himself a true Mandalorian let alone the true ruler of Mandalore.

I wonder if Din Djarin would be consulting with one of the elder Jedi force ghosts (through Luke Skywalker, probably) about the weapon's history. It looks like the surviving Mandalorian clans and the Tribe/Children of the Watch may have nothing further to offer... especially if Paz Vizsla keeps his mouth shut, on what other stuff he may possibly know about that legendary weapon.

I think Ahsoka would be the true Mandalore, like Sidious. Which means Bo Katan will need to fight her for it. Maybe in the confusion of it not being passed to the rightful ruler is why it's hard to wield

Din Djarin hasn't had Lightsaber training and doesn't know how to become in tune with the crystal. Kanan Jarrus, with only padawan training, was able to train Sabine Wren to use the Darksaber and it wasn't heavy for either of them. Sabine had no problem wielding Ezra's lightsaber after being trained to use the Darksaber. Who knows, Sabine might show up in Mando Season 3 and train Din how to use a Lightsaber. Tarre Vizsla was called by a unique Kyber Crystal; It's not evil or darkside.

I'll admit, the saber is neat and has a cool design and color. But if you ask me I can't help but feel like. The Darksaber is a little bit much. Cause if you ask me the it's not the weapon itself that is interesting but the crafter who made it. Aka Tar Vizla (probably miss spelled his name.). An like others have said it's got like a Excalibur like vibe to it sure. But we gotta remember it's a lightsaber and well those things are typically made for force users. As we have seen in Clone Wars where padme hold Aninkin's lightsaber and commented on it being heavy than expected. I'm guessing Vizla was like Aninkin strong at physically and wanted a heavy saber. Plus he probably took inspiration from the now legends Beskar Blades called Beskad. Cause if you look at the Beskad sword and the Darksaber. You can see the design kinda. That is just my thoughts though.

Isn't it safe to assume that the darksaber was made using his heart and soul which would be a factor in its power strong emotions like that would probably involve part of his soul attaching to the lightsaber

Counterpoint, Tar Visla may have been less in favor of his people over the jedi by nature of what the darksaber is. The smith in Book of Boba Fett says that the beskar spear is an abomination, that beskar is never supposed to be used in a weapon. The darksaber may have been made in defiance of that, following the logic that a jedi's saber is used solely in defense.

You know, Sidious should have sought to claim the Darksaber by defeating its wielder after becoming The Emperor (he could simply used Vader to explain his knowledge of the Force & ability to wield a lightsaber, heck he could even claim it was the will of the Force) then he'd have been the rightful ruler of Mandalore & had the Mandalorians under his control, given the Imperials militant nature, he could have recruited warmongering Mandalorians into the Imperial military & Navy! With the Darksaber, he'd be able to rule Mandalore & the Mandalorian genocide wouldn't have happened! Still I guess it's Sidious' loss & potentially Grogu's gain as he may one day inherit it from his adoptive father Mando! It would be cool if Grogu ended up as the force sensitive leader of Mandalore after Mando!

Theory: Din Djarin views the Darksaber and the title & responsibility that accompany it as a burden, therefor the Darksaber is reflecting this 'insult' and rejection by becoming a burden physicaly.

The darksaber is not made with a crystal. It was made using a quantum singularity. At the time, the mandalorians were the most technologically-advanced race in the known Galaxy. That's why they were at war with the Jedi for so long. Because a Jedi basically an old faith-based thing and the Mandalorian were all about furthering their technology. So why wouldn't the only Mandalorian with a working knowledge of the force be able to trap and harness the power of a small but all be extraordinarily powerful singularity and control its energy. That's why the Jedi wanted to keep it and study it. That's another reason why the mandalorians took it back. Because they ultimately did not want their technology being used against them. But as we all know they failed. But that's why the darksaber can cut through everything. Everything. And if given enough time will absorb an entire Sun and become slightly more powerful for a short time.

I think it's the force, not for jedi or sith but the force only. Understanding it as balance within yourself. The very thing that makes a good ruler. If your mind is not settled then your true nature will show through. If you resist then it would show that resistance in your ability to use it. It's what the force is meant to be and not what each side twists it to become.

I would like to throw out my theory on the Darksaber's crisp and black quality. It was made to exist in 2 realms, or dimensions, simultaneously. So even though it has its own power source and energy, in appearance it absorbs light and electromagnetic energy in a very similar way a black hole would, without all the gravitational pull that is.
