1. take a fat grip sleeve off of it, and it won't be near the same width. 2. The Glock 43 was originally designed to be a Slimline pocket pistol. You are the one that modified it to be bulky, and cumbersome. 3. Not everyone has gorilla hands, so some people prefer Slimline handguns. Keep in mind I do not own a 43 Sedona accuse me of fanboying. Every problem you mentioned in this video was caused by your own modifications and lack of understanding.

I disagree. I carry a G43 off duty, with the normal magazine, because it has little to no printing. When you add the shield mag, or any other extension, it adds to the visibility signature. The extra mag I carry in my pocket does have a TTI +3 extension though. Obviously because once I need that, I’m not concerned about people recognizing I’m armed.
@deucedeuce1572
@deucedeuce1572 2 ай бұрын
Yeah, the extended mags are perfect for backup mags. I don't see the point to adding them to your carry gun. Maybe a +1 if you really need a pinky extension and don't want to waste that extra length by leaving it empty... but I just don't get having a smaller, more concealable gun and then just adding extra length and weight to it, making it harder to carry and conceal, which defeats the purpose of getting the smaller gun in the first place.

@@breckenhelsley4831 Can't go wrong. I'm really glad Shield Arms fixed their magazine problems. They had a really bad oversight on the length of the magazines (front to back) in their first two versions that they finally fixed in their V3... and now you just can't go wrong with them. PSA also makes 15rd magazines for the 43X/48, but I'm not sure if they're as good. I don't know anyone that's tried them except for in the PSA gun they were made for (I forgot the model, but it might be the Micro Dagger). Their magazine is a hybrid magazine that's steel in the back and polymer in the front. Whether good or bad, I think it was a good idea that was worth a shot. It makes manufacturing them a hell of a lot easier and cheaper compared to making all steel magazines. (Like OEM Glock steel lined polymer magazines for example).
@breckenhelsley4831
@breckenhelsley4831 Ай бұрын
@deucedeuce1572 yeah I was pretty wary of getting the shield arms hut a buddy convinced me. I ran about 3 or 4 mags through it the other day and no jams. The reputation has apparently been repaired. I haven't heard of the PSA ones, I assume they aren't as refined
@deucedeuce1572
@deucedeuce1572 Ай бұрын
@@breckenhelsley4831 I heard the PSA one's started off with problems like the Shield Arms one's, but I think they fixed them. PSA is always good at fixing their mistakes. They're the OEM mags for the Micro Dagger and the Micro Dagger is said to be very reliable... so I assume that means that the magazines are reliable also. I just checked the ratings/reviews now, because I'm curious and don't want to assume... but it appears that they do have extremely high reviews (5 out of 5). You don't really save a lot of money though, because they're still $30/each. You don't need to have a steel mag release to use them either though, so it could save money. I'm just not sure if you can use the hybrid magazines with the Shield magazines, because the Shield magazines require the metal mag release... but the metal mag release might damage the polymer part of the PSA magazines. There are many aluminum magazine releases for sale for all Glock models though... and none of them are known to damage the magazines as far as I know though. Polymer on Polymer is usually preferred, but it might be worth a shot. Might be best to just use one or the other though and not both at the same time. The Shield Arms mags are definitely a redeeming feature (upgrade) for the G43X and G48. They're excellent guns on their own, but they can't really compete with 10rd magazines... but with the 15rd magazines it really brings them to the top. I hope some inexpensive 15rd magazines come out for them soon though, because one of the best things about Glock handguns is the option for really cheap, but still good, reliable magazines.

If you put a rubber grip sleeve on your 43, it doesn't make sense. I sold my 43 and picked up a 26... But honestly the 43 is so much nicer to carry all day long. Especially with an Ets 7rd flush fit, and +1 giving you 8, or the many +1 minimalist extensions... It would be worth it to me to give up the extra rounds... And with the new 9rd mags it's even better. I like the 26 because I have a 17, and 19 and tons of different mags.... But if I were to only have one pistol for concealed carry I would go with a g43 no problem and not think twice. I always end up carrying my 19 now instead of my 26 anyways... But I always loved carrying the 43. So nice and thin.. it just disappears. Although I do love how the 26 shoots... I shoot it the most accurately out of any of the Glocks besides maybe a g30. But if you've got a g43 your good to go. People all around the world can't even have a knife to protect themselves.... So be happy with what you've got and shoot it and know your holds at different distances. There is so much deuschbaggery in the gun community if you don't have the cool kid gear. So for those watching; take note of the grip sleeve on the 43. When that’s removed the width difference between the 43 and 26 is a lot more substantial and really shows the benefits of the 43 1 inch width. Makes for a gun that you’ll forget you’re carry. That’s both an upside and a downside because forgetting you have something to defend yourself could be a liability (Or it couldn’t, who’s to say your memory won’t just “kick in” when approached in a dire scenario. It may just depend on the person.) but you also need to think about comfort too, because getting into a self defense situation is low and may never even happen to you. Might be better to go with the gun that allows you to go about your day without getting in the way or being annoying. Just stuff to think about.

The 43 makes perfect sense for an ultra concealable gun that weighs LESS than the 26. I don’t care about magazine capacity. I’m a realist and know that 6+1 plus a THIN and light weight spare magazine or two is the way to go sometimes. The 43 also fits in jeans pockets better than the thicker 26. Don’t downplay the width. Every 1/8” is important in width. The same difference in length is negligible, but in width, it can mean everything.

@@spnfirearms I have a Glock 31 Gen 4 that I carry on the weekends. It would be my everyday edc, but I spend most of the week in non permissive environments. I went through several different pistols before I finally settled on the Hellcat. My most easily concealed pistol is my Sig Sauer p938. When they came out with the 365, I made plans to buy one. I hesitated long enough for them to become impossible to find and for Springfield to come out with the Hellcat. At first I just carried the two factory magazines, but then I bought the base plate extender that turned both of those into 14 Round magazines. I barely got those installed when Springfield started selling the 15 round magazines, which is what I carry now. It stays nicely concealed in very concealed under my untucked shirt. I don't get the people who complain about the little bit of extra weight that the 26 has over the 43, because I wear a belt all the time. I don't know why anyone would carry a pistol without a belt on.

I watched this and still picked up my glock 19 with a concealed carry appendix holster before going to the store. I dont mind the 19 even though it weighs more. I can conceal the 19 really well and would rather have the 19 when out and about because it fits my hand perfectly and it's a gun I've gotten very very comfortable with. I feel like whatever midsized handgun you own that you are the most confident and accurate with is what you should always carry.

It’s all about what you can conceal. I can’t conceal the 19 or 43x very good. I can only speak on my experience!

@@spnfirearms how can you conceal a thicker gun better than a thinner one ? (I’ve never concealed but looking into it)

No reason to get either one. If you like that slim Glock pistol, get the 43X, shield arms magazine release and now you got yourself 15 round capacity.

Respect. But the 26 is the best!

I own both. I typically carry the 26. One thing this guy didn't mention was the weight. If you are wearing pants that allow a belt, 26 all day and/or night. If you are wearing a lighter style pant/shorts the 43 is nice. If you typically wear your pants/shorts low like the girlie men, stay with the 26. Either way people, it's about your comfort level. Not because some KZfaqr thinks you should do things his way.

I see your point but its not fair to say the 26 is better. It might be for you but to me and many others the 43 is better because it looks nicer and less bulky and is better for concealablility

Came here to see the crying about how the g43 width is totally noticeable. Glock fans are pathetic.

I mean it's not a huge deal to argue with, different models different dimensions, now I'm not a big fan of regular stock Glocks besides a regular g17, no problem with it, but I like me some aftermarket grips and trigger, maybe a semi-pic rail for a rmr sight

@@callsign_koschei I made my own single stack 48 slide on a 43 aftermarket frame and a few extended mags just to have the option to run it as a full size 48 if I feel like it it’s much more comfortable depending on how you carry I prefer appendix and the thinner profile makes a huge difference in comfort and conceal ability but those are about the only positives to the 43 and 48
