The John Mayer Daytona is one of the hottest watches ever, one of my all-time favorites. On another YT channel (CRM) I saw someone traded this watch and an AP Royal Oak plus lots of cash for a Patek on leather strap. I would NOT have made that trade personally. This Daytona is perfection! Plus the Rolex is tough and they were warning him to baby the Patek.

Yes ☝️I completely agree👊. The best thing about it that doesn’t translate well on camera is how perfect the dimensions are on wrist. It’s actually a lot thinner than it looks on video. The tactility is fantastic as well, complimented by that nice weight of gold. This and an RO for a Patek on leather? Nahh. That’s a trade I’d never make haha, with you on that one as well!

Great Video and interesting predictions. I love this watch it’s one of my favorites. Do you have an opinion on the new Daytona Meterorite?

Thanks mate! The new meteorites have still not really hit the market properly. They’re at over $100k US for an oysterflex which is a bit ridiculous. However I think that’s because they haven’t really rolled out yet, either Rolex is being slow and careful or they’re simply producing less than a handful of them a month worldwide. I haven’t gotten to see the piece in person yet but naturally I love meteorite dials :)

Man I really appreciate you for doing that and I always look forward to your comments buddy! Really great to see someone acknowledge the video and not just the watch featured because to me that’s more important to know how to make the next one. The YT algorithm continues to be a mystery (it has phases of favouring certain things and also I think every creator struggles with title and thumbnail optimization) but hey I’m happy and I’ll just do more and try more things 😄

Price for this watch is plummeting. Was up near 140k and is already down to around 115k. Bet it goes back under 100 over the summer.

You’re paying $50k extra for a green dial (you can get a yellow gold Daytona for 40k). Let that sink in and you have your answer about whether it’s “worth it”.

Not all models. For example see the op39 launched in 2015 and discontinued in 2020 or even the white gold Pepsi 116719 BLRO. The batman 116710 BLNR also ran for a lot less than the 116710 ln before it was replaced by the 126710 BLNR.
