I made a video a bit back about why Jrue Holiday is considered the best defender in the league. In Game 7, Kevin Durant scored 48 points, but was held in check when Jrue Holiday was in the game. Today, I explore how Jrue Holiday made such a huge impact on defense in Game 7 and how the Bucks were able to advance.

It’s not even just PGs. KD has stated that Jrue is the best perimeter defender in the league amongst guards. Most of the elite players give him his props, the problem is that he’s played on some mediocre teams in the past so the msm doesn’t recognize his defensive greatness. Jrue should be a perennial all def 1st team candidate.

@@pericopinero1035 "perennial" all defensive 1st team is a bit of a stretch. The league has changed a lot, specially the guards. Most guards nowadays are offensive oriented hence you feel he seems way better than his peers. If you'd seen Gary Payton or MJ stay on defense you'd have never used the word perennial and Jrue Holiday in the same sentence. Not taking anything away from Jrue but he's far from making all time defensive list even amongst guards.

Harris was trash in that game. Nobody was really aggressive except KD. Which explains why he was gassed out in OT and barely pushed Holiday that led to an airball. He passed the ball to Harden but the beard wasn't ready for primetime.

Hey Daniel could you do a video on what exactly makes a good coach? Like I always hear people talking about how Brad Stevens or someone like Gregg Popovich are great coaches. Or "Monty Williams coached a hell of a game!" but they never really say exactly WHY they are great. They just are. Like is it more about balancing personalities, play calling, rotations, or what? Thanks

It’s what u can get out of ur players... just look at a team like the Kings. But players quit a lot bcuz their too privileged that’s why coaches look bad and get fired... like Van Gundy with the Pelicans.

it's a combination of basketball knowledge, handling the locker room, establishing healthy, communicative relationships between everyone on the team, knowing the players' strengths and weaknesses and finding the right ways to get the best of the players, and making the right in-game adjustments. Every NBA coach is good at at least one of these things, but rarely do you have a coach who is good at all of them

@Steve Ok, I'm only going to reply once because I guess you are either trolling or didn't watch the playoffs but KD's loaded team, were injured. They shoved Harden in when he literally couldn't play. He was visibly exhausted after carrying as much as giannis did in game 6 throughout the full series. Even if you hate KD it wasn't on him for losing, if you wanted to blame someone on brooklyn for that loss, blame Joe Harris or KD's long ass feet.

It's matchup hunting. Every professional sports team does that. The whole I'm the best so I'm going to go after the best person every possession concept is media manufactured BS. No one cares as long as you win. That said if you're KD why keep banging your head against jrue when you're scoring at will against Middleton? Doesn't mean jrue will shut him down, just means that even kd recognizes it's easier to score on other people so you pick your poison, especially in that game 7 where it was basically kd vs the world.

Giannis works better as a help defender preventing players from getting to the rim. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to keep up with kd. It's better for Giannis to be positioned bear the paint rather than have him guard kd.
