I put a Trask Turbo Kit on my 100k mile Harley-Davidson CVO Road King! Putting a turbo kit on your Harley really wakes it up! It has much more power and crushes it on the 0-60 mph time! See why installing this Trask Performance Turbo Kit was the best modification I ever did to my bike!

I remember seeing a blueprinted boosted harley engine build, the front tire would come off the ground in first three gears when the snail kicked in. Within a 1000 miles the crank blew a hole through case about the size of a baseball and the anodized coating on the pistons was almost gone due to heat. Everything about these engines say do not boost me but I do appreciate you trying to defy the odds Sean.

TheRoadGlideRider, wow-the mileage on your bike is impressive. I’ve come across a couple of Road Kings (2006 & 2008) with 40k miles. But I’ve read and heard much about cam tensioners. Also, I’m concerned about finding trusted repair shops-the scams in Florida are incredible! I rode big Vulcans for 21-yrs because the Harley dealers “always” talked condescendingly when I drove-up on my Vulcans...but I’ve always wanted a nice Harley bagger. Ques: Can you suggest what I should be concerned about buying a used Harley tourer? And, any special maintenance that’s required? Sorry for the long msg, but my wife suggest that I get my Harley while I still want to ride. Thx. Peace.

A stage one kit is really just a open back air cleaner to allow more air in. Not really a huge upgrade in performance. 100+k miles is pretty impressive though. My '14 SG has 42k and still runs like a new bike.

@@powerforward1955 I had an '05 Electraglide with about 40k miles and the rod that drives the pistons (sorry I can't remember the name) also drives the oil pump. It was out of true and it slowly over time wore the oil pump out to the point of disintegration causing pieces to churn around in the engine. The mechanic said he's seen bikes around those years have that problem so buyer beware. Have a mechanic put a dial on it to see if it's out of true. Unfortunately he'll have to take the right side of the primary off.

This is ridiculously interesting. I had no idea such a thing existed. Now, I’d love to see this compared to a supercharged version since that kind of forces induction maintains the powerband and character of the engine, whereas a turbo makes something entirely different.
@davelowets
@davelowets Жыл бұрын
😆 The turbo dyno sheet would just be a vertical line as soon as it boosts, and then a 90° horizontal line at the max h.p. until the engine hits max RPM. The supercharger dyno sheet would mimic the N/A engine, only higher up on the chart. 2 very different experiences. The turbo could be tamed down some with different wastegate springs, and a boost controller. Would be interesting to see, nonetheless.

I have a 2002 Road King Classic with a stage 2, dyno'ed at 77HP from stock 67hp. A 95 kit with $1k in labor is around $1900 bucks OTD from a dealer install. This turbo you got is $5600 and you lose your highway bars, have a huge exhaust setup change out, and still need a cam/oil pump anyway. So, basically a stage 3 95 kit, 204 cam, high output hydro oil pump, etc would cost less than the turbo. Cheaper to just do the engine mods.
