I like how you mentioned how authors grow attached to certain characters. This particularly rings a bell with attack on Titan’s Sasha Braus. The author had originally written a chapter where she had been killed off and decide to keep her around a little longer which in my opinion added a-lot more depth, dynamism and story to her character.

I kind of like how Boruto is painting Sarada at the moment. She's having to struggle with a Sharingan that only has 2 Tomoe because you can only unlock more+Mangekyo by experiencing extreme emotion and she hasn't yet/probably won't. It really gives you a good idea of what your average Uchiha had to deal with, and ones without sharingan probably had it even worse. In the manga she has 3, she specifically used it to focus her vision enough to see a Virus that the enemy had(Trying not to spoil cause the Boruto manga is GREAT)given to her and her allies. The only reason we think that the Sharingan is so strong is First, because every living uchiha had it, even though we know for a fact that most uchiha actually didn't. The Sharingan is incredibly hard to unlock, but we don't really get to see that so much considering that Sasuke unlocked his in the first arc in the series. That's why watching Sarada unlock her's much more slowly, she's still a Prodigy but not in the same way that Sasuke and Neji were, she wasn't gifted she just works really hard and is extremely academic(Boruto is a Prodigy that's more similar to Neji and Sasuke). The fact that she's sitting here struggling to use the Sharingan to it's fullest because she actually can't fullfill the conditions to unlock it completely is pretty nice i have to say.

Kishimoto must feel very fortunate to have extremely passionate fans, like Swagkage, Seth the Programmer etc, that gives reasonable criticisms.

I wish shisui was given more screen time. I knew almost nothing about him until the game series but he is now my favorite Uchiha. He was the same level if not stronger than Itachi before the assassination and he was known as Shisui of teleportation.

Yeah the Uchiha are definitely very strong. Like you have a high chance of getting affinity for a great nature along with unlocking a Doujutsu that has really great abilities you can use along with the future of that Doujutsu can make you have not only your own unique ability that might be mind blowing but essentially a Gundam or Mech made out of Chakra that's a massive humanoid like armored knight that you can use like an armor or a fighter at the same time that can also later gain the ability to fly. Like a Mangekyo ability Fire Style + Flight probably would make a Ninja Kage Level if they rushin up with a Perfect Susanoo like that's really broken vs everyone else who just kinda could definitely get stronger but it might feel way slower or they have to try much more harder and learn much more abilities to reach a comparable level to your future.

I thought the uchiha was just a kind of trope of a super strong, talented clan. Then I learned about all the symbolism between the sharingan and Japanese myth, like about the Shinto gods Izanagi and izanami, and how they gave birth to Amaterasu, tsukiyomi, Susano’o. Those three were born from Izanagi’s body parts, the left eye, right eye, and nose, respectively. When I learned that my opinion of the uchiha and the sharingan changed. It was way more thought out than I gave it credit for in the beginning (by beginning, I mean that I didn’t learn this until Naruto and sasuke’s final fight after beating Kaguya).

The Uchiha clan is the biggest plot hole in the series. Think about it, everyone in the clan has the potential of awakening the Mangekyou Sharingan if they go through pain and then have Kage Level skills instantaneously. And since the world of Naruto was filled with war, it isn’t hard to imagine an Uchiha kid awakening the Mangekyou through the loss of a friend. Also, it seems that the only skill common to all of them is The Susanoo. Now imagine an army of Charkra Megazords running around town

Your comments about kishimoto are very true. As a writer myself, I have a lot of things I like about Naruto, and a few things I don't. He was able to create something great, but he made a lot of bad writing decisions at the same time. He knows how to create a story that is overall super compelling, and he seems to know how to create good characters as well. But since Naruto has a ton of characters. It's very hard to work with. he almost forced himself to play favorites with some characters. But with the characters he does play favorites with, he makes them pretty damn good. All of his favorites have so much complexity to them. While the others don't really have much going for them. And as for the story, he did everything super well except for the war arc and ending of shippuden. I think this was due to kishimoto having a vision for the series that he wasn't willing to adjust at all. Usually as you are creating a story, or this is at least what I do, you have to go with the flow. Do what seems natural, for example, x happened, so therefore y is gonna happen next. I think kishimoto decided last minute that he wanted kaguya and black zetsu to be the final villains, so he had already wrote a story that made it seem like obito and madara were the main villians. But he had to find a way to shoehorn kaguya into the story. So he made black zetsu be the orchestrator of the entire shinobi world, just to bring kaguya back. Which devalued a lot of what had happened throughout the entire Naruto history. And it just felt fake and forced. Kishi for whatever reason, really wanted kaguya as the final villian. But he had no clue how to do it. It would have been alright had he written the story around that and set them up as the villains. But he just went ahead and did it. Honestly, I'm kinda glad he did it the way. purely because if he had written the story around kaguya being the final villain, the rest of the series would have needed to change quite a bit. And we wouldn't have gotten the beautiful series we have now (that is everything before the war arc.) But he even could have maybe fixed the war arc with minor tweaks. But overall, Naruto is one of my favorite shows of all time.
