Yes it's tempting but Dubaï has the same politics as Qatar and they treat people the same way. So personally, I count the 6,500 migrant workers -- many of them working on World Cup projects -- died in Qatar since it won the right to stage the World Cup as crimes. The crime statistics are bullshit and juste blowing smoke. it's tempting of course, I would like to see this city but I think you live the experience of the rich people and I cannot close my eyes to the suffering and the human losses that it has cost to build this "paradize"of a few people while it is the hell for humanity.

I have never seen this, I’ve spoken to waiters , gardeners, taxi drivers. No one has mentioned such suffering . Not saying it does not exist but I don’t see any evidence that blue collar jobs in Dubai are worse than say a city like New York or London

I would not move to Dubai or UAE if you paid me. Have no idea how awake humans can like this place. Few things in this town appeal to me. The whole environment and vibe feels fake and ungrounded.

It's only "progressive" if you're heterosexual. LGBTQ people risk deportation, imprisonment and even the death penalty in Dubai. You don't have to understand or agree with it, but LGBTQ people deserve to live their lives in peace. And don't get me started on how poorly they treat foreign service and construction workers. So, while I love the idea of creativity and people supporting your success, no thanks Dubai! My question is, what other places with better human rights, are like Dubai?
@BradStephensonPlus

Was going to say the same. Dubai looks beautiful but it’s incredibly odd to describe it as progressive given that homosexuality is illegal there.

It's not illegal. And it will become increasingly accepted over time. Ive had open discussions on this in Dubai and everyone is very open-minded about it. Saying that all the other qualities of Dubai should be negated because of this is like saying anything good about the USA should be negated by its lack of full abortion rights.

The country is subject to the laws of Sharia! Kissing and embracing out in the open is strictly forbidden. Between the sexes should not shake hands. Do we need to mention anything else about labor slavery or homosexuality in Dubai?! Even though the country has allowed unmarried couples to live together without punishment since 2020 for economic reasons, it is far from a reason to sing its praises here. Mindvalley, to my recollection, is a company with a mission to bring love and freedom to the world through spiritual knowledge. So far, I have been very very grateful for this service to humanity....
@vishen.lakhiani

This is not true. Couples can kiss freely in Dubai. Ive seen people speak about gay rights there and receive a standing ovation. Almost everything you;re saying is a rumor based on a bias towards the middle east. None of it is true.
@benogezik2101

Dear @@vishen.lakhiani , I don't know why we should take individual perceptions as evidence of the country's norms. However, if we take a look at the UAE's legal consultants page, we read the following legal situation: "The criminal law of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is mostly structured after the Sharia law, which is the moral code and religious law of Islam {...} The penalties for a crime in Dubai range from flogging to jail time. It further states, "homosexuality, and public display of affection are among the sexual crimes in Dubai.“ The legal basis is the only basis according to which the individual aligns his behavior and thereby believes himself to be safe. The German Foreign Office also points out various restrictions in this regard. To simply dismiss this as a rumor is very strange to me as a woman who comes from Kurdistan.

This 'report' is the equivalent of a stockbroker offering you a 100% risk-free trading investment - it doesn't exist. Anyone with this much influence should have a moral obligation to publish a measured and balanced critique of Dubai or any other city under review. I don't Dubai has a lot to offer. But if this isn't a paid advertorial without the disclaimer, then God knows what is. I have cancelled my Mindvalley subscription over this.

@@vishen.lakhiani Understand. There just appears to be such an agenda behind this video owing to the overwhelming bias toward a city that is far from having a saintly reputation underlined by the huge effort to feature video quotes from powerful influencers. I just can't reconcile your supposed belief in authenticity and integrity with the nature of this video. Too many questions.

Dubai is awesome. But if millions of homeless people started crossing dubais borders you better believe they would be against illegal immigration. They're happily accepting everyone across their borders because they're tax paying entrepreneurs.

Tblisi is another great one. Beautiful city, the prettiest women in Europe in my opinion, amazing food and great wine. 365 day stamp in your passport no questions asked any time. Very businesses friendly environment as well, which you would not expect. However it is still the middle ages for renters over there. I was forcibly removed from my apartment by the police because I didn't feel like letting the land "lord" become a permanent guest 'round the clock. Open to the West, huh? Can't blame Saakashvili for trying though.
