Thresh feels like the ranged people are too far and the melee people are too tanky or they kill you first

I absolutely love your guides. Honestly if possible I would definitely love to see something like less known tips and tricks that you discovered playing so much thresh. Specialized stuff are hard to find so it's always good. Keep up the great content

Nice guide i agree with a lot of this you said and yes i think thresh is kinda awkard in season 14.And my personal opinion is that mobi boots are a bit akward and very risky boot but i agree that is very fun and help to be and roam evrywhere fast.I think that going sheilding on thresh like redemption is viable if they have a teamfight focus enemy team and the bonus sheild is not so big for so early before later that you with have collect souls and scale your w .I agree on taking hexflash only in matchaps like enchanters or poke enemy sup if you think that you can win early and go agreesive otherwise is kinda bad because they know when you have flash .And if you have to much cc on the enemy team unflinching is good or if you want to help peel for your adc you can go revitalize.Another thing you want to do early if you want that you can wint early is take swipers and contens the midle bush so you can force them to back from the wave early swiping their wards if they try to contese it .SORRY FOR A BIG PARAGRAPH im not trying to correct im just saying my opinion .

Absolutely agree on Thresh being goat. It’s all I play for past 10 years. Takes time to master but possibilities are endless. Tip for players, when you feel comfortable with him play super aggro. I use aftershock 8/10 games he needs to be tanky to survive.

Im not high elo either but i can agree with a lot of these points nowadays i really love guardian + inspiration with hexa and biscuits just like you its really strong in lane providing mana and peal for your adc espeacially because lantern procs guardian although with the build i usually go for zekes into teamcomps were i dont need to peal my adc and can just engage onto the enemies adc. Zekes provides some nice sustained damage since they need to be close to you because your r traps them into one place for the support item i have picked up going bloodsong because the burst is really strong although if i need to tank i always go for locket + guardian+ sled this setup lets you tank a lot because of all the heals and shields and redemption is also a good pickup in my opinion overall very good video! :)

There's mobility boots, and swiftness boots. I pick mobi boots against poke heavy comps because they'll poke, and then your boots will refresh. Swift boots against all in teams because the ability to walk around in a team fight is so good. It allows you to reposition during team fights, and land critical hooks

As the 1.004th Thresh EUW I would says that I agreed on everything, but, u might also consider swifness boot's cause they have 15+ Move Speed than usual boot's and can't get denied by dmg like mobility's. Also consider Mercury and steelcaps in front to back game with majority of ap or ad in the enemy team (when u take aftershock type of runes). But overall i think it's a good pic of what Thresh is and how he sould be played x) ( for the basics) Have a great day

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I feel like Thresh has been kind of awkward for a long time now. I was glad to see mythic items removed because, just like these new support items, there wasn't really a mythic tailored to him. Don't get me wrong, the items worked for Thresh, but there was never anything that screamed 'this is the Thresh item'. I guess that is sort of what is happening again with these support items, but I think I'm just used to it now. Thresh is so versatile that it lets Thresh mains get creative with their build paths. Really well explained video! Consider me subscribed!

This has been really facinating to me. I learned Thresh pretty much on comms duo'ing with my friend (he was maining Jihn, so you can see why the Thresh pick lol), and I play much more like an ADC simp haha. If we are able to get solid kills in the laning phase I go Locket straight into Knights Vow and buy tanky boots (mercs for magic dmg and heavy cc or tabis for lotta ad). I stick close to my ADC and only leave to throw down vision on objectives or move to a very close fight. What I've found in S14 from my experience is that ADC's get rolled really hard and can't snowball because they get perma roamed/dove with high damage and mobility. However, if you can funnel that aggro into kills for your carry then they come online way faster and then the games over. I'll need to try this new roaming/teamfight playstyle though. I haven't bought mobility boots in ages and the lantern shield/guardian interaction sounds so so fun to try.

As i now say every time, thresh is and will remain the GOAT and a BEAST in teamfights ( that's not me who said it it's a wise man )

Even though i think the new support items don't offer thresh a big power spike like supports that have a more "cut and set" play style they do offer him a much better time tailoring to the enemy team. Most supports are locked into 1 or 2 options that won't ever change while thresh can very easily use half the support upgrades based on what build and game he is playing (even if he is likely to only take 1 or 2 of them most games) Bloodclaw is deceptively good on thresh if you have the stronger lane and want to push more offence on goes (goes very well with a CDR build), its not as good as it is on taric who can abuse bloodclaw much harder but thresh is also WAY more versatile than taric. I think the point im trying to make is Thresh is so flexible that much of his power doesn't really come from items but his core kit which retains high value thoughout the game so its not as big of a deal that he can't specialize hard with the support items.

I rarely ever take (took) mobility boots. thresh movementspeed is so low compared to other champions and the fact that you lose it the second a minion hits you are you get tagged by any kind of damage just made it unplayable for me because being able to move around in teamfights and run away or chase was allways a main part of my play style. I played boots of switfness 9/10 games because it still gives you good MS for roaming and also makes it way harder for the enemys to peel you off with slowing effects while you try to close the gap. also you dont lose any MS while in combat so basically you can allways decide if you want to engage or disengage. mobility boots just constantly felt like i am super fast on the map but the second a fight starts it was like i had CC on me. Now that they reworked mobility boots into simbiotic soles i think i will probably take those because as a roaming support you stack up the units pretty quickly and then they are just hyper powered mobility boots with good movementspeed and the recall is also really satisfying. what do you think?

i feel like the title is a bit misleading, you kinda didnt even list a ton of reasons he feels clunky - really high gold income for supports, engage supports typically dont rely on high gold income while enchanters/mages do, the more gold for supports there is the better enchanters/mages - we have the movement speed season with everyone running ghost and every 2nd item giving movement speed which makes catching up as thresh alot harder and its harder to hit hooks - spellshields are currently in the best state they have ever been with edge of night/banshees being purchased almost every game if you are playing thresh - lack of early game ability haste for engage supports as it has been shifted to more of a late game stat with the lack of having it on early game engage support items ( in s13 you could easily have like 50-60 ability haste by 10-12 minutes, now you usually reach this at like 18-20 minutes at the earliest -as every season the damage powercreep keeps going up (other tank engage supports arent as affected because they are actual tanks, thresh is just in between all support types meaning he cant take higher dmg output as well as a nauti or leona can) To add to this, instead of keep giving thresh E damage and armor/mr riot should give him 5-10 base movement speed aswell as maybe reduce 1 second of Q/E cooldowns at ranks 1-3 while keeping level 4-5 cooldowns as they are currently

definitely agree with all except i never build redemption, i usually go for zeke, the passive fit with my aggressive playstile, usually my path is ionian/mobility boots into locket into zeke, then i go for tanky items just like you do, also when i stomp enemies i usually go for bloodsong as support item, it allow me to face 1v1 with most of squishy champions in case i find myself in a blindspot

Honestly for me this season more than ever before, Thresh's versatility kinda just makes him feel like a weaker version of other champions. Braum is a better warden, Janna is better disengage/poke and roaming, Zac is better engage/ganker (these are the 3 I've been playing a ton lately in addition to Thresh.) Nice to get some different ideas for what to build too though, a lot of items just don't feel quite right so I've ended up on locket/frozen heart/redemption most games (knights vow if my primary role is peel). I still adore Thresh, this season has just kinda felt bad a lot on him.

I like to play thresh with aftershock demolish conditioning overgrowth triumph legend:alacrity attack speed and double health scaleing steel plated boots jak jak realmspike hallow radiance knights vow jak'sho zhonyas hourglass for me it works and i have 62 winrate in emerald

The adaptive force is very VERY bad on Thresh. His ap scaling is absolutely terrible because his skills also scale off of souls collected. Literally every other option is better.
