I love how the daughter and pregnant lady "the easiest targets" were the ones who survived showing the payoff of the sacrifices the dad and the husband did , showing a sense of love and responsibility towards the most important people in their lives. Can we talk about the conductor? That man risked his life venturing into the unknown by himself to get a train up and running for everyone, and he only died because the first person he saw that needed help happened to be Yon-Suk. Godspeed, Mr. Conductor. You deserved better.

He literally described the protagonist, the protagonist is not always the “hero” of the story but the character we follow to see if he can change.

I cried when the MC, moments before his transformation, with the last bit of his free will, thinks back to one of the happiest moments of his life: the birth of his daughter. Then he lets himself fall off the train, sacrificing himself to keep the others safe -- from himself. I then cried again when his daughter began singing that song.

The most terrifying thing I can imagine about a zombie apocalypse is being in a small space… with corners… and dead ends. I’d much rather be trying to outrun a thousand zombies in an open field rather than be stuck in a building with one.

The performance of the little girl absolutely gutted me. She is an amazing actor. Every time I watch this movie, I bawl like a baby for the last 10 minutes.

That little girl has more acting chops than adults several times her age. She served a gut-wrenching performance.

What I found so interesting about Train to Busan was that it wasn’t the fighters who were survivors, it was those they were protecting.

When the dad dies and the little girl is screaming and crying... geez... that kid deserves an oscar. she touched my heart!

let’s also take a breather and think about how gong yoo (the actor of the father who died in the end) acted in a separate romance drama called goblin in that kdrama he had to watch his own movie in the cinema and got so scared 😭😭😭 it was so hilarious

The granny sisters' story progression hit hard. Like damn, in the time of need, you'll really see the true faces of some people. When she started talking about her sister, I was like, No. Then she stood up I was like, No way. When she opened the door I was 😳

When the daughter starts singing it took me a while to realize why(or at least what I thought) and what came to my mind was that his father told her to never let things incomplete.

When the little girl was crying "Don't go! Don't go!" while holding on to her dad, I started crying and then the dad started crying too and I cried even more 😭

So we’re just not going to acknowledge that this guy went on to become a top recruiter for the squid games?

I feel you man. That scene where he names his child is heartbreaking.

The guy who acted the selfish man is really humorous who commented that yeah, he hated his own character himself and introduced himself as the one who acts the asshole haha

The husband of the pregnant woman is my favorite character in the whole movie

the bad guy played his part so good, i’ve never felt so much hatred for a character. this movie is such an anxiety rising film i loved it!

Su-An losing his father definitely made me cry real tears, but Su-An singing the song that he wanted to sing for his father.... I can't, it is too heartbreaking

I legit thought it was gonna end with the wife and child being shot by the soldiers and I was like in denial for a couple seconds, luckily they survived for the sake of my happiness.

The pregnant woman's husband is like the coolest character in movie history imho.

When the Selfish Guy slowly turned, I really felt him. He was definitely born into riches, he was well-connected, if there was a problem, he threw money at it, or pulled strings to get out of it. In the apocalypse, none of that mattered, there was absolutely nothing he could do once he got bit. For once in his life, he couldn’t get out of it, and as it dawned on him, he seemed to lose his willpower and let it take him.

This masterpiece of a movie left me in literal TEARS. The sacrifices were so painful to watch yet it was kind of satisfying knowing they weren't fully in vain. Thank you Korea for bringing a new perspective to the genre of zombie sci-fi movies.

If you hate the character, that's how you know the actor did an amazing job

The one thing that gave me the most fear from TTB was when him and his mom talk one last time, and he gets to hear her transform into a zombie in real time That just absolutely broke my heart and, as someone who almost never cried while watching a movie, I nearly cried. Just thinking about seeing someone I'm close to, like my mom, suffer a fate as terrible as that Just pains me.

i have never seen a child actor act as good as this little girl she gets me crying every single time 😭 she's going places keeping up good acting like this

Spoiler Alert: The saddest part of this film was after Gong Yoo got bit and was telling his daughter to stay on the train with the pregnant woman as she holds on to his arms telling him not to go, crying hysterically but then he smiles briefly before leaving her..... That alone is sad enough but take into account that his daughters whole life he felt more like a guardian than a father..... Su-an never got along with her dad and always wanted to stay with her mother but after saving her life numerous times and seeing her want him to stay so bad it was in that moment he realised that his daughter did in fact need him and he finally felt like a FATHER but it was so short lived as he had to leave before turning 😔

Why this movie creepy? - they stuck with a zombies inside a moving train and no way out - they are normal peoples not cops or soldiers - they don't have weapons like guns - the zombies are fast

squid game really got me recognizing Korean actors now huh

That last scene before he throws himself off the train just made me tear up ... just when he realized the value of parenthood and bond with his daughter.. really great zombie movie and actors too ...

He did tell his daughter that she should have finished the song, and she replied that she couldn't because you were not there. He responded even if you don't see me I am always watching. Or something along those lines. I just watched it for the first time a couple nights ago with my wife.

Everyone had flaws, and that made them feel like real humans not scripted characters. The baseball couples were naive. The mc father was selfish. The blue jacket father was- Who am I kidding he was perfect.

I’ve watched this movie millions of times but damn I still tear up. Both fathers deserved to be there at the end

Years later i still cry just hearing the retelling of events. This movie really is one of the best in history. The fact that its entirely in korean and speaking about korean/east asian culture and is still able to be so deeply touching to someone (a lot of people) who has never set foot in that part of the world (though i would love to and am slowly learning korean in my spare time) is impressive. Everyone on set did an amazing job and the cast worked together so beautifully, their chemistry felt like real people interacting and there wasnt one character i was tired of seeing. Yes, even the awful horrible business man. I audibly sighed whenever he came up on screen but it just proves the actor did an amazing job with his portrayal, he felt real and presented a very real threat to our heros. As much as i despise the character for his actions, he was a very needed part of this movie imo. Dont even get me started on Kim Su-an (the little girl playing the mc's daughter). Such a good actress despite her age. Also i had such a crush on Wooshik (the baseball dude) and continue to love him in anything i see him in (the witch, parasite ect.). Such an amazing cast. And a very good re-telling of the story. If I ever need to convince someone to watch this movie im sending them this video. If by some chance anyone watching this havent seen the movie yet, PLEASE go do so. Its so worth it.

The fact this REVIEW made me tear up at the guy sacrifice means it's an amazing film and I need to watch it.

Very well done, believable situations, realistic personalities, and no plot armor.

My favorite character in this film was "Mister" the homeless man. He does panic and crack several times. But when it counts, he helps save many characters. And in the end, throws himself to his death, to save people he hardly knew. He in my mind had one of the best and most honorable deaths in the film.

Also the survivors weren’t complete idiots like in other zombie movies lol when the man with a pregnant wife put protection on his arms I literally applauded, sadly couldn’t hide those biceps of pure testosterone, but finally people that actually have common sense in a zombie apocalypse!!! And damn this comment blew up. *Jim camera stare*

The train driver is the most underrated character, he did his job even in this situation and has my utmost respect!

The scene when her father is becoming a zombie and remember her child make me Cry :(

Not only did Seok-wu save Su-an in spirit, but it's also her emotion (the song and the reasons she sang it) that let the soldiers know she was still human.

The only movie I genuinely cried... I had to pause the end of the movie just to go out of my house and let those tears go down. It was also embarrassing since my family see me as a stoic person and they saw me crying.

It wasn’t bad acting nor was it forced down our throats serious acting, it was just natural & believable acting, Hollywood should take notes

That child actor, oh my gosh, she was amazing! Her crying at the end and screaming "kajima" (don't go) had me bawling! I felt every ounce of emotion in her voice 😭

I remember watching this at night on KZfaq with my sister. The ending made me cry, and it's making me tear up now. This is such a good movie, I love it.

One of my favorites plots is a parent starting off as a not so good parent and through the story is trying his/her best to improve for the sake of their child. These kinda stores always got me balling my eyes out

She sings Aloha 'Oe as before in the movie when her father is talking about her recital he says "I am always watching you" she takes that knowledge after his death and performs it sorrowfully in Memorium to her father, as she knows even then he is watching over her

If someone says that they almost cried when the Asian rock got bit, they're lying You bawl your eyes out and question how the universe is so cruel and what you're doing with your life

I've watched this video dozens of times, I watched the movie multiple times, and I'm still on the brink of tears with goosebumps.

I started crying when the dad jumped off the train so he wouldn't infect the others. I also started crying when the pregnant woman and the child were the only survivors and they started weakly singing. Train to Busan is heart wrenching and terrifying.

I can't believe I weeped even when it wasn't the actual movie but a narration and I've already seen the movie thrice before

This review is actually why I watched TtB in the first place, and still makes me sob at certain scenes. Hell, describing it makes me choke up.

I loved the buff guy, he was such an amazing character. His death hurt me so bad.

i have rewatched that movie lots and lots of times and i never fail to cry my eyes out at the scene of him holding his daughter in a flashback then falling off the train, even in the little clip put in this video made me shed a few tears an amazing movie

Sanghwa's death is literally the one that always makes me burst into tears when watching this movie. They did his characterization so well that I felt it so much harder when he died than anyone else. He has so much personality for a side character, easily my favorite.

Honestly say crying to most of this. I didn’t want the father to die but it is a fitting end to his story.

I have never watched this, but that ending has me holding back as you're explaining it. Everything hits different when you are a father and I have 3 very young children. Easy to adapt too and that's why certain movies like this do so good. Uncomfortably relatable.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate the great acting by this child. That last scene is one of my favorite scenes of all time

When a man is crying, it doesnt mean he's gay, it means letting out out ur emotions and being stronger, not bottling it up and reducing your lifespan because of psychological issues. Every baby cried you know?

The part that really made my eyes tear up the most was when the little girl grabbed onto her father’s sleeve begging him to not leave her behind. That shit hurt my soul. Like I felt that anxiety. It hit harder when the father started crying with his daughter, he tried to put on a brave face for his daughter but he couldn’t once he fully let his fears and anxiety set in. That made it feel so real for me.

This video made me realize how immature and childish I was on like 8 out of 10 movies I watched. Most of the time I’d go for entertainment rather than deep thoughts and understanding or the bigger picture. Thanks to this video, I have awakened and is now a better person who looks beyond the horizon.😊😊

I've seen this movie so many times, and I still ugly cry EVERY👏SINGLE👏TIME👏 Gong Yoo (Seok-Woo) is an amazing actor, but Ma Dong-Seok/Don Lee (Sang-Hwa) was my easily fav character; and Soo-Ahn (the little girl) blew me away in this film, she's incredible 👏

"Train to Busan", unlike many other zombie movies I've seen before, was a terrifying and very emotional film. I cried a lot when watching it for the first time and I even cried while watching your review. That happens, because we as the audience grow to have an emotional bond, sympathise and relate to the characters. They seem real, their actions are believable and that's what, in my opinion, makes "Train to Busan" such a good production.
