Hi dgun63, Hope you are doing well. The reason a shower leaks with the rubber liner is that it is only used 6" up the wall. As you very well know water still get's on your walls within the shower. The problem is not with the liner its with the full waterproofing method. Water gets behind the liner and then the problems start. I understand where you are coming from and I really appreciate your comment, the context here is the difference. Hope that helps!

Hi Lance, thanks for your comment. Just to let you know, I have personally been in the construction industry for right at 30 years and as a builder/developer for most of that. We originally used the old rubber shower pan system, but after having failures over the years we extensively researched and found that the Schluter Kerdi system had the best proven track record for long-lasting leak-proof tile showers, so we started using that system and absolutely loved everything about it, except for the high price of which kept going up. We looked for other companies that had a similar system and found a couple but they were just about as expensive. So we did more research to see if it would be possible to make this superior quality shower waterproof system at an affordable price so that it could be installed in every home instead of just the high-end homes and commercial buildings. It was not easy, but we feel that with the Trugard tile shower waterproof system we have been able to accomplish our goal, but even better, we have found that we have actually converted a lot of the old school tile contractors that were still using the old inferior rubber shower pan system because they now felt that it made sense to provide a better quality system and service for their customers since it was not price prohibitive. With converting these old-school contractors, we feel that we are providing a true service to the tile industry in promoting this superior tile installation system that the Schluter Kerdi company has done so well at improving the whole tile industry by changing the way tile tile showers are installed. I also believe that healthy competition is good for any industry as it helps to keep the big guys more competitive and honest. Thanks again Matt Kriser
