I am an American married to a Ukrainian man who is one awesome husband. He has been a blessing to me and my extended family and when we married I made sure that we incorporated the Rusnyk (Ukrainian towel) as well as a Ukrainian hymn into our wedding ceremony as well as traditional songs at our reception. People really need to stop bashing men in general and many of the people who say negative things about Ukrainian men haven't met them. My husband is very protective of his family and he is a gentleman. I think one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard is, Ridna Maty Moya. My husband sings to me and our little dog in Ukrainian. I love my sister-in-law and my Mother-in-law so much and they have taught me how to make a few Ukrainian dishes. I can't get enough of those Ukrainian holidays!

Anyone who is _specifically_ looking for a particular nationality in a life partner is obviously extremely superficial. More often than not, the western men who are _specifically_ looking for Slavic women only do that because they want a submissive makeup doll who stands in the kitchen all day. And most Slavic women who are _specifically_ looking for a foreign husband do that because they are shallow creatures who want to make their life easier by emigrating abroad and dump the husband they marry the moment they find a better model. If you actually want a husband/wife, you must look for characteristics that make a good and stable life partner: honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, etc. And you can find such a life partner both in Ukraine, US, Zimbabwe or any other country on the planet.

In ukraine girls are too tiny and you can not see attractive girls in regard to body on the street. In Serbia you look around all time because there are so many hot girls. My ukranian friends who live in serbia say that they dont have good choice in UA at all but they lived in the past all their life in stereotype that ukranian girls are attractive its some kind of marketing there.

One of my best friends is a Ukrainian man, a Professor of History in Odessa. He's a good man and my role model for all Ukrainian men. People are people the world around. The cultural differences between Ukraine and America are based on the number of women per men. The 20th century was not kind to Slavic men, in most Slavic countries there are more women than men. This fact makes a difference in the balance of power between women and men within these regions. Other than that, and the fact that Ukrainian women are some of the most desirable women in the world.....!! there are no differences.

I got envy on Ukrainian men for their high level of education especially I have two of them who are both PHD holders and very experienced in being professors, I also admire them for their commitments in their work in spite of their high level of education. Although they're not bad but they are there to share about Ukrainian related topics and they would even correct my Ukrainian and Russian grammar! They are also victims of rejections when it comes to love, they're being rejected by their own Ukrainian women because Ukrainian women only know that men are providers without doing a "give and take" based on what I've watched in a documentary in other words girls for them are giving unfair treatments so that's also the reason why they are not also into entering such serious relationship and marriage, kinda like Filipino culture that they are not assuming in relationship and marriage! I dated ukrainian guy for few months.I’m 8yrs older than him! He split up coz he said he is bored with me! Then were back but after few weeks he split up again, he texted me that his mom won’t let him to have an older gf. Hi Olga, very interesting ideas about the myths regarding Ukrainian men. The education is very much a cultural difference but many Americans, for instance, might not care about how educated or not their Ukrainian girlfriend/Bride may or may not be.

Sometimes there is just not enough of the good Ukrainian guys for every Ukrainian girl so then the girl searches for other possibilities. And some succeed. And aye, it's absolutely truth about the high standards of the Ukrainian men for the girl looks. And true - successful guys with lots of money, or simply good looks, no matter if ukrainian or otherwise, have higher standards and higher risks of straying.

True. You can't say "ALL" are this way or that but there are definitely generalities about men or women from certain cultures that hold true . For example, anyone UKRAINE Citizen who has visited the US will agree that Americans are much fatter than ukrainian, or they will observe that in general American women are not feminine (but rather masculine) and don't dress feminine either. So while you can't blanket statement about people of a certain culture, there definitely are general differences that hold true.

I have both male and female friends in Kiev, Odessa, Krivoy Rog and Nykoliv. Ukraine is just like anywhere else in the world. There are good people and some not behaving so well. Out of the 37 countries I've been to in my lifetime I see the same thing everywhere I go and Ukraine is no different. Men have been getting a bad rap in Ukraine for a long time and it's just not true. I came to Ukraine for the first time in 2011 to fall in love with a woman but instead I have fallen in love with Ukraine. Now I want to bring my girlfriend to see Ukraine. This isn't 100% and much can be said against Ukranian women. I've known Russian and even Jamaican men with very good Ukranian wives but I've also seen the typical Ukranian women who just want a rich American or European man to take them to another country and buy them iPhones and give them 500 euros a week to go shopping with. What I hear from American women who date Ukranian or Russian men is that they can be very arrogant and macho without really being as great as they think they are, but again, I can't sit and judge them all - I've been very very good friends with both Ukranian and Russian men.

Just normal people doing normal things. It is completely retared to think 25 year old girl will live country because of love. I will gladly take Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian and others in America over other peoples. I met a Ukrainian in jail and no one tried anything against him and he was a far more tolerable inmate than some. I have also met Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish at Moscow Deli in US. and want more Eastern European people in America.

Men I have a positive suggestion. 1. Spend 6 months learning some Russian then, in the European summer book a flight either to Odessa or Kherson. 2. Take a taxi to any one of a number of holiday spots on the Black Sea (Zeleniy Port for example) There you will find a small apartment for $10/night. Then have so much fun. By day swimming or just admiring the thousands of beautiful women in their bikinis. But the real action is at night. Perhaps 2 km of bars, restaurants and dance spots along the foreshore where the women dress like models and the dancefloors are full of them. Dance every night to the early hours of the morning. You will love it and it will cost you bugger all; but do learn some Russian.

I have been corresponding with a beautiful Ukrainian woman for about 5 years now, and about 4 years ago we met in Mykolaiv and spent 10 days together. She has become my best friend and we talk about everything. I asked her why she did not want to look for a Ukrainian boyfriend, and she told me that there are so many more men than women, that all the men want to do is have sex and talk, but do not commit very easily. I loved Ukraine when I was there. I especially loved the churches.

I believe it all depends on what it's aproppiate or not in a specific culture. There are a lot of differences between eastern Europe people and latin people for example. And the thing is, girls get used to something all over their lives, for slavic girls maybe it doesn't matter if the man can be romantic at a middle or high level, because their men are not like that, and such differences between foreigners are what some girls preffer. So at the end in relationships many people will try to think that what they have is the best once they've achieved it, maybe just because they don't want to try new things or just because they want to justify their decisions.

There is one more thing happening ALL over the world.. we are becoming more INDIVIDUAL and do not like to follow the common trend. This is natural and it is bound to influence the genetic pools of all nationalities. I have an aunt who is Japanese.. I had become friends with an American girl who was clearly scamming me from Wisconsin.. sent me pics from her modeling days until I met her in person and thus ended the affair. America is wierd and smart Ukrainian ladies will think ten times before packing their bags for LA or NY... Unfortunately, there is no direct flight from Kyiv to Bangalore.. Growing up in the West most of my friends and I heard that Slavic men are toads and the Slavic women are really attractive since the ratio of men to women ratio favors the men. This means that the men don't really have to put much of an effort to be good. Now with this Ukraine/Russian war there will be even less men around so the women will have to "downgrade" to find a suitable mate if they are going to stay with Slavic men.

The very first thing a Russian scammer told me in a letter: "Russian man drinks too much and wastes their lives". Of course, she was lying, I knew a few very nice Russian guys some years ago and all of them were College students who came to the US for the summer in a student exchange program, they had good goals for their lives and were much more educated than me. I have been talking to a Ukranian girl for a couple of months now and until this day she has never said anything bad about Ukranian guys. There are a lot of bad guys here in the USA, probably more than some other countries, bad people are everywhere. Some bad people are still cool to talk to. I try not to judge.

It shouldn't matter if they went to college or make alot of money it matter how you feel. Thats why alot of marriages don't work out because say a man in Ukraine has good job and college degree wants the same in a girl and maybe will marry a girl for just thst. Да, прежде всего потому, и об этом не говорят «пропагандисты голодомора», что в конце 1929 г. для обеспечения продовольствием городского населения была введена карточная система снабжения. Она дополнялась также созданием подсобных хозяйств, столовых при промышленных предприятиях и т.д. Именно эта система побудила многих селян особенно в пригородных зонах на массовый переезд в города, на стройки, промышленные предприятия, шахты. Этих людей идеологи «голодомора» также включили в списки погибших от голода. Так называемые «исследователи» в своих «трудах» оперировали жуткими цифрами от 2 до 7 млн. человек. К большому сожалению, в те годы, да и в последующем, никто не вел и не учитывал именно смертей от голода. В советское время эта тема была под запретом, а потом начались сплошные измышления, не основанные ни на каких фактах. Сейчас трудно достоверно оценить количество жертв этой страшной трагедии. Ясно, что масштабы ее, судя по обширным территориям ее охватившим, значительны, хотя, конечно, это не миллионы, а на порядок меньше. Но и в этом случае ответственность руководства страны, допустившего трагедию такого масштаба - огромная. Я не мог понять, да, и сейчас не понимаю, почему не были предприняты особые, а если надо, то и чрезвычайные меры для спасения людей. Опубликован целый ряд документов, свидетельствующих, что центральное руководство Советского Союза предпринимало целый ряд действий для решения этой проблемы. В это время только одной Украине из государственных резервов решением правительства было выделено 23 млн. пудов (пуд равен 16 кг) семенного зерна, 6,3 млн. пудов фуражного зерна, 4,7 млн. пудов продовольственного зерна и более 3,4 млн. пудов зерна в виде неотложной помощи. Выделялись также мука, сахар, масло, консервы, был создан специальный продовольственный фонд для оказания помощи детям. Все эти меры опровергают версию западных «исследователей» и, к сожалению, многих недобросовестных отечественных авторов о специально устроенном «геноциде» украинцев. Тогда что же говорить о русских, белорусах, казахах, евреях и т.д.?! Не было никакого ни геноцида, ни голодомора. Были жестокие просчёты в государственной политике, приведшие к тяжелейшей трагедии. И второе, на мой взгляд, в то время не было сделано все возможное для недопущения голода в отдельных регионах страны. И ответственность за это, наряду с центральным руководством, должно было разделить и местное начальство, которое в погоне за показателями своевременно и жестко не поставило перед центром вопрос о немедленном оказании помощи. И еще одно замечание. Все эти многомиллионные цифры жертв «голодомора», о которых так любят говорить особенно сегодняшние руководители Украины, не выдерживают никакой критики если их сопоставить с данными статистики. В 1926 г. население Советского Союза составляло 147 млн. чел., а уже в 1939 г. выросло до 170,6 млн. чел. Те же цифры для Украины. В 1926 г. население Украины составляло 29 млн. чел., а в 1939 г. - 37 млн. чел., т.е. прирост населения значительно больше, чем в целом по стране. Разумеется, если бы в 1932-1933 гг. погибли бы миллионы, то не было бы такого прироста населения. Это не только ясно любому демографу, но и любому нормальному человеку. Для разжигания ненависти к России, к советскому прошлому, сейчас в Украине не брезгуют ничем: откровенной ложью, искажением действительности, придуманными мифами. Особенно циничны те, кто пришел к власти после государственного переворота. Это при них численность населения Украины стала сокращаться невиданными темпами. Это при них пожилые люди стали реально умирать от плохого питания и отсутствия лекарств. Это они реально создали в стране атмосферу «Голодомора». И наши люди должны, несмотря на зомбирование СМИ, отличать правду от лжи. Именно на это направлен мой пост.
