The 2000+ engines can still be boosted, you just stop around 750rwhp. Concerning your Viper tax, that's pretty much the body itself. The engine parts are fairly inexpensive as long as you know how to shop. The older interiors weren't that bad. They didn't fall apart like C4 and C5 Corvettes did.

First time I saw a first generation do a launch on a red lights, my jaws literally fell to the grounds !!!! Never saw anything has violent as this, I know tires are really really wide and hook to the grounds, but never imagined it was gonna leave this effect in my brains, and remember this was before all electronics devices that make a beast easy to control, now with all this you could sit a chimp in a modern car and he would do a great 1/4 miles times, back then the car literally was fighting you like a mad bulls who didn’t want to play with you, my reaction has I saw it leave the corner street, it didn’t look like it was accelerating !? it looked has if it already had a swing ! Like it was already coming from, and not completely stopped, it gave me the impression has if a big fictional hand had just throw away the car, and my eyes didn’t catch and only saw from the car leaving the line. Very very impressed by this car back then. 😍😍😍

I'm fairly young (under 30) and an active member of my local car community, and not many people agree with your statement, especially people around my age or younger. There really is something about the feeling of a naturally aspirated engine, be it a four cylinder, all the way up to a twelve, and I've been lucky enough to have driven quite a few. Anything from BMWs, to Jags, to Lamborghinis, to Corvettes and Mustangs. Unfortunately, I can't say I've ever driven a Viper, but I would absolutely love to.

Even just at 550whp we have gone to finals and semi finals for Street Car Takeover verse Hellcat Red-eyes, Boosted Lambos etc . Stock form they can hold max 600whp and come with forged Cranks, forged Rods (forged to reduce mass not for strength, 600whp is the limit) and cast but stout pistons (some have made 600-800hp with them by just Tweeks to the ring gap, but we advise an upgrade for prolonged 500+ engines. We added our HalferLand Hyper/Semi forged Pistons, HalferLand 1000hp Rods, Stock J35a7 Block, Stock Crank and our custom Turbo kit...and now have over 40k miles on that setup with zero issues at 550whp. Theres some J's out there making well into the 1000's with stock block and crank. One of the most reliable engines ever made full stop and decently quick with the supercharger. A shame GM discontinued to make shitty V6s that could never fill its shoes.

Hey 337 Speed. Great video! It would be awesome to see you do a video on the supercharged 3.0 litre V6 Audi used in the S4 between 2010 and 2016…it was super bullet proof and took to mods extremely well. Bit of a unicorn engine too!

I drive a 2017 Toyota Tundra. I put the Magnuson super charger on it and I’m getting around 600hp at the crank, around 450hp to the wheels. The engine is the 3ur-fe and it’s been shown to be capable of significant power even with stock internals and stock transmission. I love the sound with my trd pro exhaust. Would be nice to see a profile on that engine.

I was an SCCA volunteer. We did press events for the car manufacturers at Pocono. The different manufacturers would have their cars on hand so the journalists could determine which cars they wanted for road tests and articles on their magazines. The writers would take cars for a lap on both infield courses and on sections of the tri-oval It seemed like every time one the writers took the Viper out, the next radio call would be for a red flag and the flatbed to drag the Viper back to the pavement. Happened 3 years running in the early 90s. Everybody spun out those things. We would clap when someone made it all the way around a single lap.

People don't understand the driving style of Carroll Shelby. He made front engine cars turn like the mid engine ones. He was one of the greatest designers in my book. You really have to understand Mr. Shelbys ways before getting behind those cars.

I remember when my dad fixed a front end of a 96 Viper in early 2000's, the hood was $6,000. That always stuck with me because that was insane money for a domestic part.
