Wasn't The Wizard's reveal of SMB3 kinda stalled because the movie's release was pushed back and the game actually came out before the movie opened? It also gave us Toby Maguire as a pink shirted goon extra.

Why was Ed's racist comment left in the video? Telling white people to go back in time and free their slaves assumes that all white people's ancestors owned slaves and that only white people were slave owners.

WHERE THE FRICK IS SILENT HILL!?!?! The first one was easily the best video game movie ever made. As a huge fan of early SH games, it is very respectful to the tone, world building and lore of the source material, whilst still giving its own spin on things. Also, it's beautifully shot and terrifying.

Silent Hill was good until the final act, when they decided to pretty much stop the movie and explain the whole plot up to that point to the audience. "Oh, in case you didn't catch all the breadcrumbs we laid out for you in the last hour, here's what happened to this little girl and how the town got destroyed." Prince of Persia's problem was also in its final act (Hollywood whitewashing notwithstanding) where the hero turns back time and essentially nullifies everything that happened in the movie so it didn't happen. It's a prime example of one of the worst aspects of time travel plots in movies.

Mate (Curtis), what Brits do you know that mis-pronounce your name like that, that's bizarre? I (who live here) know none, though there might be a tiny change due to regional difference. Secondly you mean accent not dialect (in regards your name). Thirdly It clearly isn't dialect, it is lack of attention. There are Laura's and there are Lara's, these are clearly different words and names in common usage here (and the same must be true in the US I guess), so it is mis-prounciation, not dialect or accent.

It’s not great, but it definitely is not terrible. It’s a video game movie where they actually tried and cared about the property, and in many cases it really shows. They put a lot of effort in the production design, costumes, atmosphere, and music. The story just doesn’t come together all that well.

The biggest problem with video game movies as a concept is that for the bulk of a game, action and story are two separate things. In order to get more action in, they either have to extensively rewrite the plot, or stick in throw-away action sequences that reference gameplay.
@dani4ever
@dani4ever 6 жыл бұрын
They just have to stop focusing on adapting the thing in general and focus on the main ideas of the world or story. It's not that different from adapting books. For example a Final Fantasy movie, Advent Children kind of works because it's an isolated story after the game has happened. The other movie is just a dumb thing. In my opinion they should pick up the elements that make up a Final Fantasy game and create their own world and story. Make a party of fixed 3 or 4, instead of our 8 or whatever that we pick around. And if really needed be, make it two movies or three. Don't squeeze stuff. A Sky-Pirate boy and his Chocobo meets a run-away Princess and they both find and save a Black Mage who's the last of hi... nope! Can't go through that kind of feelings in the big screen. But a Black Mage who shies away from his power because he was a slave or whatever.

Sarah Risley The 2007 Hitman with Timothy Olyphant has some cool moments, but it could’ve been any other movie with an assassin. The newest one missed the mark so hard I’m amazed it even got made. Both of the movies made Agent 47 an action star, which is literally the complete opposite of his purpose.

Not really... the sets looked like the attractions in a low rent theme park, the effects were laughable and the bad action with cheap techno music (because, you know, video games are apparently all about techno music) didn't really work. At least the second one tried to be a real movie with location shoots and an epic musical score, as an adventure movie should have.

I don't know how a Super Mario Bros. movie made in the early 1990's was ever going to work. For one, the game is a brightly-colored drug trip where a couple guys slide through giant pipes, eat mushrooms, jump on giant lizards, trying to save a princess from an even bigger lizard, and everything from the hills to the clouds to the sun has eyes. Now try taking that and recreate that with human actors without the help of today's digital effects. It was never going to work out.

It's only a matter of time. People didn't think Comic Books were a good source of stories at one point. The code will be cracked eventually its just requires a game with a great story and rich characters like Uncharted, Mass Effect, The Last Of Us, or Horizon Zero Dawn and then finding the person or people who can translate that into a film.

The other problem with including Pokémon is it also had a well established anime that built it up to a pretty good movie. And again... It's animated! Also the wizard? they play video games sure in the movie but I would not qualify it as a video game movie. If they included "the wizard" and "the Pokémon movie" then why no wreck it Ralph???

You forgot Silent Hill...and at least I though it was great. And also what about every Uwe Boll movie? I mean you just could have mentioned them. Postel was fun...it wasn´t as much fun as Postel 2 the actual game was, but it was kinda fun.

I forgot that Pokemon counts as a video game movie Since I grew up with the Anime and also watched some of the movies in the Cinema as a kid in Japan, I sometimes forget that it was a game first
