⭐ About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans KZfaq channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.
In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!
After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.
Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

It's been a great series but I'm looking forward to some non-vanlife Beans again. A campervan can save you a lot of money travelling, but you've still got the initial cost of getting one. And if you're renting one, the charges and security deposit can be enormous. A hotel stay, I can aspire to! Plus, you can't beat the comfort of a nice hotel room with plenty of space, hot and cold running water, climate control and all the modcons. Enjoy your next adventure! I can actually relate to what you said about planning a trip and reflecting on your travels. Yes slow mornings and sometimes getting lost in the moment is amazing but to have a plan is what gets us going. Also I feel reflecting is what makes us actually grow and appreciate travel so much. Absolutely loved this winter van life series guys.🥂

We too have been talking about how we plan to travel in the future and that is one of our main things, we want to travel with purpose and almost with a destination in mind!! Nice to know we aren't alone in that thinking 💭 Excited to see your upcoming travels, hope you're both good xxx

Thank you Beans for having us along on your adventure. I've enjoyed every twist and turn and admire your "can do" style. I totally get your reflections on plans -v- freedom, the latter can be weirdly disconcerting. My motto is to have a plan to guide you on, but not be tied strictly to it. If a diversion comes along that you want to follow - break the plan!! Thanks again, and look forward to more fun!!

I totally agree. Get out there and do things while you’re young and healthy. Sadly my health took a real dive last year. I was just getting my life together after a lot of personal issues and I was intending on doing out a small van for weekend trips at the age of 48. This is now not a possibility due to my health and one of my regrets is not doing more, exploring more/travelling more etc when I was younger. I’m not old but my freedom/life is being taken away from me before I could do the things I would have loved to do. Don’t let this happen to you x

Yeah, almost the same here. I decided to look into van life a couple of years ago just as I got some health problems that are manageable now but could suddenly prevent me from being able to drive. I could have got some time in I suppose but the thought of being stuck scared me too much. I've barely travelled and wish I'd done so now in my 20's.

Corinna I’m so sorry to read this very sad for you x I’m much the same , I was looking at buying a camper van 3 years ago I then got diagnosed with a very rare cancer which scupperd any chance of my dream of buying a van. I’m now starting to get my life back after long surgery I’m being managed now with mri scans ever six month another 3 yrs to go ,anyway you take care of your self and God bless x

I have never travelled and at the age of 55 going on 56, along with my wife have decided to (at some stage) try out full time van life, even if it’s just for a short time and get some of the wanderlust out of our system before we get too old. Take care guys and look forward to watching your new adventures.

Good for you for being considerate in how much you share locations. It wouldn't even occur to many people that sharing an exact spot could be a problem. Your point about how you are aware that you can choose or not choose van life really says a lot about how thoughtful you are as well. I'm impressed too with how you lived so continuously in your van, I think I would enjoy it for a weekend or so, especially camping out somewhere beautiful (or in a campground where I would have access to bathrooms) but I don't think I'd ever feel comfortable stealth camping in a city.

I'm looking forward to every adventure that you choose to share with us in the future! I started watching your videos with your Italy series, that you filmed just before the pandemic hit. You were enjoyable to watch then, but I've got to say that your videos have just got better and better, BBC worthy, but with the personal connection with your audience that only KZfaq can provide. How much I have enjoyed your blogs! Your introspections in this last blog were delightfully honest. My wife Marleen and I (both retired) have completed 5 x 3-month outings in our campervan and the feelings you have are well understood. The bad news is that there is no known cure for wanderlust and the moment you are not sleeping on wheels, you'll be restless. I also have some idea of the number of hours that are involved in post production of your videos and in very constricted conditions and I congratulate you on managing all of that and managing to get in all the exciting things you have done. In the end, the best bit, the deepest and most successful bit, is two people living permanently in one another's company; finding you privacy in new ways - like my wife watches TV through earpads while I maintain a healthy angst trying to get the blog pages up to Wordpress. So, thank you for entertaining me for a long time now. You'll get over this 'home' sickness thing very soon, I feel sure. Really looking forward to your next 'notification'. Get on with it! With our very best wishes, Marleen and Mike

:'( I'm a bit sad to see "The Beans Winter Series" come to a close. Every week I've noticed a growing excitement and anticipation of the next installment.. even setting aside time with my wife to "see what the Beans are up to this week." You are so charming, so funny, so engaging. We love it! I hope you visit Denmark on your Scandinavian adventure. There are so many places we can recommend.. sure, we don't have the rugged fjords of Norway or the vast wildernesses of Sweden... we're more of a well tended rustic garden... with a music festival practically every week in the summer... and, Denmark loves traveling wilburys.

This has been a wonderful series, watching the Bean Machine go all over Europe. Life is all about learning and you certainly learned what it was like to be full-time van lifers. While you learned it’s not for you, it was great to watch you travel in the van, find great nature scenes and do some fun activities. Continue to do what you’re doing, traveling, chronicling nature and having fun. And it’s always fun seeing Emma get tipsy every once in a while. Thanks for this three month journey. Have fun in the next country (Mexico) and I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll be doing next.

Since you're travel vloggers, I always saw the van as a way to just get through the COVID crisis and still travel and make videos. You made some pretty good videos during your little van life 😊

Alex& Emma, really like you videos. 1 question I have is you never mention anything about Emma's parents or family. Are your parents dead? Do you have any brothers or sisters. Just wondered. Take care, I'll be sure to keep watching . Donna in San Diego CA.

Your perspectives make perfect sense to me. I’m looking forward to your future series - both with the van and without. I’m firmly in middle age now and definitely enjoy a good hotel - but a van trip still seems fun - though for me it would need to be a few weeks at max.

You are very blessed to be able to travel and have such an adventure. God has made sure you had this journey. Glad you got to experience this. A lot of us say we’re going to do it and then time passes by and you never end up doing it. Life is so different from when I was young. Never got the opportunity to travel very much. The fact that you recorded it for us all to see was very kind. You are also very lucky to be able to work from wherever you are.

Well done - really enjoyed your series. Couldn’t agree more about your reflective perception of your trips. We do these things to create memories, so now you’ve found your formula, rinse and repeat for a while. Try Morocco for an adventure - fabulous place.
