Here in Finland we take vacation for at least 1 month. Max ppl here travel across other European countries for vacation or spend time in their summer cottage. That is why I am able to stay at least 1 month in India during summer as vacation.

Agreed that USA has many opportunities but almost always a citizen is chosen ahead of an international deserving student due to the H1b visa. So technically the opportunities for international students in USA would be at par with other countries

Set a target which helps with ur lifetime expenses in India (lets say Rs. 1 crore) Go to USA, (with the impressive saving rate of at least Rs. 2 Lakh per month) achieve your target .. And them come back.. Very simple and practical way of looking at this American dream 🙂

I got offer from Europe but i rejected it. Because money isn't the only thing one should look for. Family, friends, festivals are more matters to me. India is safer in compared to America, Europe where recession hit hard.

Although opportunities are way ahead than India, but If I had choose b/w usa & India , definetly India, opportunities are growing in India at the rate of gun violence in USA😂 Atleast I'd live in personal peace space not on societal level tho. But between Some selected European countries and India, India may not be the better country objectively speaking. I can say it surely 110% Europe is going down as well, Things won't get bad as USA, But in 10-20 years, If Europe doesn't change their political&social structure and functioning, Europe will have same fate. Opportunities will be there but the incentive won't be attractive enough I can bet that.

US still is my dream country. Country with free speech and anti-socialist policies. I am from a top school (Mcgill) in Canada. And I will leave easy PR here for my PhD in US. There is no equivalent of Stanford/MIT anywhere else.

Your living expenses are $5-6k in US in general but you earn $12-15k a month by mid 30s. In UK you only earn £3-4k a month. If you earn 3 times more than your living expenses then you can buy happiness I think. Can you compare UK and US considering standard of living

I am a senior software engineer currently settled in Australia. I have lived in US, UK for many years and visited Canada and most of the European countries (while i was in uk). I can confirm that USA is the best country in the whole world ! The salaries are way higher than any other country in the world. You have unlimited options to visit different places.. quality of life is simply way better in America. It's the most prosperous country. If you add the jobs available in canada, aus, europe etc. still they are no match to USA. I am telling you that cause I was really disappointed when I went to UK after living in USA for years. UK felt like a third world country as quality of life was no where close to what I had in US. Only issue with US is that those born in India have no chance of getting Green card as per current rules. So the only option is to marry an American citizen. If not US, then next best option is Australia. Salaries are pretty high and lifestyle is as close to America as it gets. Never ever go to Canada. It's a socialist country which will never let you get rich. And salaries are pathetic!! India right now is much better place than Canada. Don't go to Europe. It's even worse than Canada for so many reasons.. all this LGBTQ lobbies and completely degenerated young generations.. And this gun culture issue is out of proportionally overhyped. You can't make your life decision based on few outliers.

I still love the USA I have worked hard from past 4 years to research and shortlist unis do the entire application process by myself, gathering transcripts but at last when the main thing funding is exceeding my dad's capacity I decided to drop it for UG and chose Germany over USA and anyways USA is still gonna be there so my gates for MS is always open and I'm sure as hell I'll visit, study or work in USA one day but before that proper funding and safety of me is main so that my parents won't need to be worried about my safety and also education loan that I would have taken along to the USA for UG.

Aldo dress cheaply and don’t carry too much cash but definitely 20 in one dollar bills and a couple of cards with just one phone nothing else. Staying downtown as exciting as it is has risks. Get married and move to the Midwest in the suburbs if you want safer. Do not advise Indian students to come to downtown universities. Time to grow up in safety awareness, but I do admire your hustle mentality. Looks like you were in the tenderloin in sfo not downtown but not sure from the images. Gun crime is an issue here. Dress poor, look poor and live poor in downtown to avoid attention but usually homeless guys have mental issues so that may not help. American work policies tied to insurance and designed to squeeze the middle class and bind them to slave labor.

In Colombia, we have 18 holidays every year.. atleast one holiday in a month except in months of february and september. Apart from that 15 paid vacations in a year (can be accumulated if not taken) and additional sick leaves, paternity, maternity leaves. There are lot of tourist places to visit, celebrations, carnivals across the year. I am Happily living in Colombia for more than 10 years now
