It doesn’t have to be zeroed at the phlebostatic axis. You are zeroing to atmospheric pressure, so it doesn’t matter where it is when you zero. But it must be leveled at the phoebostatic axis for accurate BP readings. You said it has to be zeroed there at the beginning, not sure if that was a slip up or not 🙃
