We just moved. This moved required divesting ourselves of half of our belongings. The move went well and as we unpacked, we have let go of so much more. It has been a liberating experience to simplify, simplify, simplify!

We moved 25 minutes out of a busy town out in the country side moving wasn’t easy we left a lot behind left behind as a blessing to someone else we left furniture, nic nacks , craft items, dishes the lady who came saw the home & with everything in it she said it was a blessing to her and that same day she bought the house for the full asking price cash it took us 30 days before to move down size on day 31 we sold the house on that same day we moved into a 5th living in a RV park right next to the mountains awesome views with the lake & everyone but one are very friendly nice group of people for now we are here where we go after thing we don’t know & have no worries about the future we’re living in the now a simple happy life 👍🏻😊

I like your calm, systematic way of packing. My husband and I are planning to move this year, from Montana to Indiana. This will be our first move in our five years together, and it feels overwhelming! But I'm so grateful I started learning about more minimal living in the last couple years, and I've been downsizing our possessions in a slow but focused way for a year. I know it will make a big difference in the moving process, and then we will have only things we use and love in our new home!

We are in the process of doing exactly the same thing. We are moving from SC where we were an hour from the mountains and 3 hours from the ocean. We loved our time there but it's now time to be closer to our children & family.

I really needed this video right now as we are just starting the downsizing and decluttering process so that we can put our house on the market after 20 years! We are so ready for a move and a fresh start and I need to get rid of about 60% of what we have! It's going to be a massive job but videos like yours really help me! I watch your KZfaq videos and they are very inspiring. It’s ironic that we are doing the same thing at this time also. Within the month we will be moving from Central Florida to Argyle Texas also to be with family. Best of Luck! I definitely decluttered while packing and will do the same when I unpack. 👍

I have moved 40 plus times. Still keep moving. It takes a lot of my precious time. Major moves made me literally sick. On the other hand, frequent relocations provided me with a chance to experience a good chunk of the world. Rockies are certainly among my favorite places on both sides, US and Canada. Yay! Perfect timing for this video, we are currently packing and "purging" before our move to Wyoming. Minimalism sure does make it easier, but its interesting to find how much stuff you can still have hidden away when you really have to gut it all out. Love the video Connie, thank you!🏔⛰🏔🗻🗻🗻

When we moved the last time , it took 5 of the biggest uhauls you can rent ! And then we didn’t take it all ! I’m 57 and never wanna pack and move that much again !!! Our sons say next time you better hire movers 🤣😂🤣

Our family will be moving back to Utah in a few years when my husband retires from the military. We love the mountains and the seasons of home. We have down-sized or right-sized recently. We've learned many lessons and as seasons change we have,, too. I've wondered what hobbies or crafts you have that may contribute to your joy of life, but also brings additional things. I recently returned to stitching crafts and worry I may return to my "I need this to do that" phase, which I don't want to do. Any advice from your life lessons?

I never realized that you were in NC! We live in Raleigh, and escape “Scurry-ville” on the weekends at our cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains, West Jefferson, NC. We’ve always said that we didn’t want to retire to the mountains, but the closer we get, to retirement, the more we appreciate the quiet, relaxed pace on the mountain. Life is simpler there…. Our lives, our minds and our home are much less cluttered. There, we have what we need, and what we love.. working towards a similar simplicity at home in Raleigh..

Yes definitely. I’m moving from Europe to Canada to be with my family. Leaving 95% of my belongings. It feels liberating and I am going to stop buying for the sake of it. Only buy if I really need something or really really want it.

I did moved from a small BEAUTIFUL city called SÃO LOURENÇO and known by the the quality of the MINERAL WATER !!! To SÃO PAULO to be with my daughters Now next step is to get a minimal style of life

We moved from Australia to New Zealand three years ago...a huge move. It was great incentive to declutter! Did us good, our cupboards were SO full of just STUFF!!

Funny, this is exactly how I move too. I start FAAAAARRRR in advance with decluttering and making lists. It helps avoid so much anxiety for me. I DO NOT like chaos. I like your videos because of you calm nature, voice and motions. P.S. you have great style as well.

Your channel pop up today and I'm so happy. I see so much of me in you I love it. Someone talking about things I know and doing them. I aim to do more consistently as I had done so in previous seasons. After car accident 2020, losing my mom and brother and more in 2021, the trauma Sent me into a spin of old habit or lack of habits. I had jsut been about 1 year pretty consistent in my commitments to myself on health and mindfulness and spiritually and so on. Hard to see myself with such poor habits now and physical health down. Autoimmune diseases flared and so on. But I am continuing most days to nudge myself thru the discomfort and continue taking action and steps. I've picked up gardening starting small and its helping me a ton with mindfulness and calm again plus physical health

This was wonderful! So I subscribed. I've been a minimalist for 4 and a half years and I have few personal belongings but my husband is not! I just broke my back (lumbar vertebrae) and even though I'm in much pain, I'm able to walk slowly upstairs with a walker at each end and a brace and lots of pain meds but not knowing how this will go, we may have to move to a one story house so I was interested in your video.🙂

Welcome back to Utah! I live here too. I was watching your last video about money saving tips and frugal living and saw you hiking in the end of the video and it looked like the mountains here in Utah. Then I saw this video on the sidebar and watched it to see why and where you moved! How are you liking being back so far? We came from CT about 6 yrs ago and love it. I do love the east coast and the green but enjoy it here too, though the dry climate definitely takes adjustment! I miss the ocean.

A move is on future during 2023 and I cannot wait to let more things go. My friends are shocked to hear how eager I am to declutter even more. We will be "climate change" refugees escaping the Southwest and looking forward to a future where we are not terrified of running out of simple drinking water or paying the "corporatists" for fresh water. It costs so much money to sell your house, pay real estate commissions, then find another house that may or not have a lot of problems that you then have to fix. Just stay in one place. Moving is a hassle, very stressful, expensive. You never know what kind of neighbors you're going to get. North Carolina is cheap. The west coast is expensive. now the west coast is inundated with homeless people and drug addicts. No thanks. I lived on the west coast for 50 years. Never going back.
