Im getting ready to do some mustang fast back conversion, i reached out to 2 companies 3m being 1 of them and they both told me the correct way to applicate is 2 light coats with 10min flash time between coats then grind off the coating from the plug weld area so you are welding on clean bare metal, do not weld over the coating as it will be considered a contaminated weld, i was surprised as i tought the name said it all but i guess not, not doubting your method just passing on manufacturer information

I think the brand I have used is a SEM product but I have heard Medallion is the best. Good info! Thanks Jubee.

Cooper based weld through primer is conductive. Therefore it works. Spot welds are ideal and a normal welder (mig or tig) would get contaminated with it.

I should have told you someone slammed into the back of my 69 nova and I have to do what you done to the Camaro Trunk floor drop off quarters. The other person had no insurance My insurance paid so much Now I have to do the work. I like the way you explain it✊️😎😖

Have you ever left a sample piece like this outside and see how it reacts with rust?...drill out the two spot welds and look inside?

Every thing keeps coming up reverse image so the labels are backwards. Do you always use the same product? If not do you have a recommended list of products that work?

3:41 "Now it's treated in there", "can't rust" - but prove claim please - leave it outside for a few weeks then rip the two pieces apart and see if there is any RUST around the spot welds. I bet there will be rust. And how about test DupliColor and 3m as well?

pull it apart it burnt the weld thru primer off no true way of doing it just saying

actually if you pull it apart you will find it surrounds the weld. obviously you never get paint in the actual weld, you dont want that anyway, it melts around the weld providing an airtight seal to the weld. that my understanding anyway.
