Fair is different in different people's opinions.

To have a case, your employer would have had to violate the law (discrimination) or retaliated against you for bringing to their attention something you thought was a violation against you. For instance, if you file an ethics complaint, then they hurt you in some way (retaliation) demote or terminate you.

Since you did get an offer, which is more than most people who call his firm get, have you considered calling back or emailing and asking if he'd give you a payment plan? I'm just throwing pasta against the wall to see if it sticks, but maybe if you can come up with 20 percent up front and could pay 10 percent of the total per month (so about 8 months worth of payments) it could be affordable for you and Vince's firm wouldn't have to worry about you not having skin in the game as he puts it?

@@jawndoekck I have never called for an intake or estimate. I would have to write it all out and send pictures in an email for me to be able to really get my story out. I feel like the EEOC, Human Rights Commission and Inspector General would all have to talk to them also to really understand everything. I immediately drove to an attorney crying the day that it happened and they said write everything down. I called a firm in Charleston our states capitol and they said to let the EEOC finish and call them back and then I was going to go to an employment attorney in town the only one we have but I’m just embarrassed to talk about it again. Everything has been filed I didn’t make copies because I was just so upset I couldn’t even go back and look at it. These things just happen. You don’t know what to do and it’s not til you get to here that you realize everything you should have done. This would have to be your second rodeo for you to make it easy on an attorney. I will take note of everything you said that’s a good idea. I wish I could call the OIG… I like to Call them the OG’s 😎 and say hey I have someone willing to listen and could help will you talk to them because we all know I have no idea what I’m doing and can help make this easier on everyone. The agencies have it right now and the people really get me and understand everything. It is true, you could have a really good case but your inability to communicate or get the point across can 100% get you to fall through the cracks. Everyday I think during the investigation one little thing I did or forgot could be the end of it and out goes a letter. I mean they did ask me what I wanted and what I demanded a few times. How am I supposed to answer that? They do have a person from the business who I thought was a friend upsetting me and texting me letting me know every time he’s there which is only a couple parking lots over. I repeatedly asked him please don’t tell me that. A couple of times I expressed how I really felt but I went ahead and emailed the OG’s and told them what they were doing if they tried to use that against me. The reassuring subtle things that have been said give me some hope. Like when the OIG said…. It’s all good. And someone else saying just get her a puppy. Or when it got transferred telling me it’s going here it’s not over just don’t be going all crazy 🤦🏼‍♀️ if I feel the time is right I’ll email or call. Right now I just listen to all the questions I have as well being answered 🙂 I need to find the videos on the demand letters. I agreed to conciliation but I don’t know what the company said. It’s frustrating because the company has money to not make themselves look like dummy’s. I just want to write the owner and say let’s just me and you meet up 1 on 1 and have a talk and make a deal 😆 Only in a perfect world though.

@@jawndoekck I might email, why am I so nervous to call though. Is that normal? I would have to email I guess. I don’t even know what to say 😰 My husband would have to deal with the business side and complicated stuff if something could be worked out. All the money I make is just extra money. I only make around $12,000 😆 Luckily my husband works at UPS. So making monthly payments would be affordable but I would have to pay for it. It would have to be a good case discussion for my husband to do the 20% down then like I said I would make the payments. .
