Merry Christmas,man!!! Thanks for all your videos and analysis! You've made a little mistake here in the video. MHL stands for Molodezhnaya Hockey league where Molodezhnaya is translating as youth. So it's not the same as AHL in Russian hockey hierarchy. The Russian equivalent of AHL is VHL(Vyshaya Hockey league)

Well, Kucherov was amazing at U-18 world championship. Nobody ever has 21 points on this tournament except Nikita (Hughes was very close last year). So how could scouts miss that?

its not that, they do scout in Russia but most of the time you'll see good Russians in the late first just because of the KHL's appeal to Russian kids

also think a lot of russian players decide to play in the khl, even guys in the last few yrs who were first rd picks team were afraid they wouldn't stay to play in the nhl. so imagine how it was in 2011, tons of russian players the 3 previous drafts didn't sign with teams.

to me i feel like people that play in the KHL don’t think the NHL is what it is. the KHL is an awesome league but a lot of players can play in the NHL but choose to play in the KHL.

Kucherov turns it up in the playoffs which would take the pressure of being "the guy" off of McDavid and allow him to play better. With a little grit and a good coach they'd be unbeatable. I really hope the Oilers don't waste McDavid's career.
