Belief in the wrong object of saving faith never gives Everlasting Life . Jesus shows us in every Evangelistic encounter that His doubtless Guarantee of Everlasting Life - apart from any other condition - is how one is irreversibly born again . Adding to His only condition is fatal to Grace . This is what all in Matthew 7:21-23 have in common .

This is wonderful news to know the truth about Christianity. Many people go to church on Sundays and do good work and claim that their good works are based on what they have done. But the truth is that if they don't truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. They must truly believe that God sent him to this earth to save Sinners and his death, burial, and Resurrection from the grave by God. if they truly believe that they will enter eternity in heaven with Jesus forever.

This passage is a warning against those who claim to be followers of Jesus but do not truly believe in him and obey his teachings. It is possible for someone to perform miraculous works in Jesus' name without truly believing in him or having a genuine relationship with him. Jesus is emphasizing the importance of not just outward actions but also inward faith and obedience. An example of inward faith and obedience that demonstrates belief in Jesus as the Son of God could be a willingness to submit to Jesus' authority and teachings, as revealed in the Bible. This could include: Trusting in Jesus for salvation: Believing that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and trusting in him as our savior. Repenting of sin: Acknowledging our need for forgiveness and turning away from sinful behavior. Loving God and others: Demonstrating love for God by obeying his commandments and showing love to others, as Jesus taught. Following Jesus' example: Seeking to imitate Jesus' character and actions, including his compassion, humility, and service to others. Sharing the gospel: Proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and sharing our faith with others. These actions demonstrate a genuine belief in Jesus as the Son of God and a commitment to follow him as Lord and Savior.

Reconsider. You are teaching a works-based salvation. Galatians 3 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? John 6 28 “What can we do to perform the works of God?” they asked. 29 Jesus replied, “This is the work of God-that you believe in the One He has sent.”

@@robertnieten7259 Repent simply mean think again. You are changing your mind from unbelief to believing the Gospel. That is the only context in which it is used. Nowhere, in any literal translation, is it use for "repent of sins". Jesus paid your price. Once you believe you are crucified with Christ and God has judged your sin, I don't believe he revisits it when they occur. It is finished.

@aramanaod Thanks for your reply. It's like Paul said to the disciples in Acts ch.19, " Have you recieved the Holy Spirit since you believed ?". If believers recieved the Holy Spirit the moment that they believed then Paul didn't know what he was talking about. Just as physical birth is the end result of a process so is spiritual rebirth. Once we hear the Word and it reveals to our hearts that it is true God doesn't make us turn to Him. We must use our free will to either obey Him or stay as we are. Just because we have come to believe the gospel doesn't mean that we are saved. As Peter said in Acts ch.4," God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey him". True repentance isn't just mentally asserting that the gospel is true, but in demonstrating our obedience by being water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. As John the baptist said to the people standing on the shores of the Jordan, " Bring forth fruit meet for repentance"( Matt.3:8). That fruit was and is our faith in action by obeying the command to accompany your belief and repentance with water baptism.

@aramanaod I'm sorry but the gospel of salvation isn't hearing the Word, believing, and you're sealed with the Holy Spirit. Being saved is about being born again and just as physical birth is the end result of a process so is spiritual rebirth. All of the apostles, including Paul, taught that salvation is about hearing the Word, believing, repentance, water baptism, and then praying to recieve the Holy Spirit. *Acts ch.2:38 and Acts ch.19. There are only three times in scripture that tell us of instances to where believers recieved the Holy Spirit and what happened the moment they recieved, Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19. The first thing that happened when they recieved the Holy Spirit is that they spoke in tongues to confirm it.

@@2Chronicles714_ again as you go around working for satan read this post very clearfully. Your so far into satans grasp that you may never grasp this truth, but for others that read this might understand Satan. Satan knows the true and living God. Satan knows the truth about God. Satan knows God is a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Satan knows who Jesus Christ is. He knows the gospel. Even when our Lord was on earth, the demons themselves, as well as Satan, knew who He was and responded accordingly. Why does Satan then devise so many false religions? He is the archenemy of God. He is the arch-hater of God. He, along with a third of the holy angels who rebelled and fell, compose the demonic forces. Those demonic forces do all evil that they can possibly perpetrate against the purposes of God and against God Himself. They give us the reason why there are so many false religions. There’s only one God. There are many, many, many demons - thousands, upon thousands, and thousands times thousands of demons concocting false religion. That said, there are only two real religions in the world: that is the true religion of God and the false religion of Satan in its multiplicity of forms. Satan knows there is only one God, and one Savior, and one gospel, and one salvation, and one way to heaven. But he has proliferated human history and the world with as many religions as conceivable in the sinful hearts of men and the wicked minds of demons. The earth is overrun with all kinds of forms of false religion. But boiled down, there really are two religions: the true religion, which God has revealed in Scripture, which is that salvation comes by grace through faith through believing; and all forms of false religion, which declare that salvation comes to man by man’s own effort, by his own achievement, by something he does - some morality, some religiosity, some ritual, some rite, some ceremony, some behavior. Either salvation is solely by God through divine achievement, divine accomplishment, or it is by man to a total degree or some kind of degree through human achievement. Satan’s religion is the religion of human achievement. God’s true religion is the religion of divine accomplishment.

Faith is to have confidence in something, someone..in a promise. Believe is to be fully persuaded that something or someone is true…in a promise. Eternal life is received by “faith alone in Jesus for it”. A Christian is someone that has HEARD His promise of eternal life by faith alone and became FULLY PERSUADED, Believe in Him for His promise of eternal life. The Matthew 7 people were never willing to HEAR His promise and never willing to be FULLY PERSUADED. They are convinced in their efforts/works.. they are not convinced in Jesus alone.

Biblical faith requires obedience. Salvation requires more than belief. The demons believe yet they tremble. One must believe and repent, confess and be baptized for the remission of sins to become a Christian. See Acts 2:38, I Peter 3:21. The will of the Father in Heaven is what the New Testament teaches, All of scripture not just the part that supports what one believes. I encourage all to read the Bible for yourself to test what others teach.

John 10:1-5,14,26-27 Truly truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way that man is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.14 Iam the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 26but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Only those who have a changed life by repentance are those who are Jesus's sheep and follow him. Jesus uses the word "knows" as in an intimate way just like that word is used throughout scripture. Matt 7:21-23 Why does Jesus say Depart from me I never "knew" you ye that work iniquity He's not double minded The works mentioned are works that He told us to do Matt 10:28 John 14:12 Mark 16:15-17 Paul says do works to show your repentance in Acts 26:20. Clearly they had some type of knowledge of God to do those works. They claimed they "believed in Him" He doesn't say you trusted in your works. He doesn't say I knew you once and you later rejected me. He says I never "knew" you (in scripture "knew" means intimately) They never changed their minds about their sinfulled life (repented) of their sins. They didn't have a personal relationship with Him. They were pointing to their works as evidence they knew Him. They believed repentance is works or that's it means of unbelief only. God didn't know them because they hadn't been regenerated, forgiven of their sins, and died in their iniquity as unrepentant sinners. Jesus would never refer to the works he instructed us to do as workers of iniquity or lawlessness WHAT IS THE WILL OF THE FATHER? The Greek word that is translated as “does” is poieo. The word appears 598 times in the New Testament. It has been demonstrated that the Greek word for “does” refers to action that performs an activity. This word is a verb and not a noun.Since poieo is a verb, we must also determine the meaning of its tense, voice and mood. The tense of poieo in Matthew 7:21 is in the present tense.Poieo in the present tense refers to action that is ongoing. For example, when Jesus said, “he who does the will” He was referring to ongoing action at that moment in time. In other words he who is doing the Father's will. The Greek word for “does” is a Greek present participle which implies ongoing behavior. The person who does the will of God once in a while does not qualify.Jesus is describing someone who habitually does the will of the Father. Poieo is also in the active voice, which means that when Jesus said, “.he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter” He was saying that the individual must be performing the action. A life of obedience (present tense “do” [Ποιωv] for continuous action) to his will is, in fact, the definition of righteousness. when Jesus says “. . . but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.” The word “does” is a present, active, participle verb which means that those who continuously are doing the will of the Father go to heaven. Jesus was referring to a pattern of life and not perfect obedience. The character of true Christians is that they sin less and less as they mature in their faith..

May as well rejoin Roman Catholicism or some other religion that mates faith with works as conditions for salvation. I fear you are mixing salvation, which is by faith alone, with discipleship or sanctification, which addresses the issue of growing maturity of the believer. The latter involves the Holy Spirit working within the born again believer to make him or her more like Christ. See 1 Thess. 5:23-24. In addition to the Scriptures cited in the video, John 6:28-29 is helpful: Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

@Michael Singer Paul and James say show evidence of your repentance by your works. Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. James 2:14-26 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstandingye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. We are saved by grace through repentance which is the consequence of faith.

@troy kidwell So toss out the book of James because he says without works faith is dead. Then we must toss out Ephesians 2:8-9 What Paul says about works in Ephesians 2:9 and the Apostle James chapter 2 about faith without works is dead. The misunderstanding of Ephesians 2:9 Paul is saying any works regardless of how "good" they are, are not enough to inherit Heaven. Paul has never said we ARE NOT to do any works. That would contradict Jesus. We are to do works in Jesus name. Paul makes it clear in Verse 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. James and Paul are on the page. Faith without works (evidence) is dead (meaningless) James 2:14-17 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. With your thinking we must also toss out Acts 26:20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should REPENT and TURN TO GOD and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. God will toss out anyone who adds to or removes anything from His word.

The people crying to Jesus are saying "Look at my works that I did for you" and the people who are let into the Kingdom literally are only going in because they did not trust their works, but trusted Christ. They are not saying " Look at what I did!" Look at the world. the broad road is obviously works! EVERY SINGLE SYSTEM outside Christianity is WORKS. Every one! Now.....here is the cool thing. When you do come to Jesus, and get to know him and start growing closer to him you will start to do a thing called repentance. You will grieve your sin and you will want to do works. But you will do work out of Love, not out of obligation. When you are doing the work your mind will not be thinking " I'm doing this so God will look upon me with favor and save me" . Instead you will look at someone in need and just help them free of obligation, which is REAL LOVE. You are choosing to Love out of loves sake. God is genuine and wants genuine love and he also wants us to give genuine love JUST LIKE HE DID!! It is the only way to get true love from people. By doing good works you are loving and choosing Jesus because he saved you. You are not working TO be saved. It's beautiful!

Agreed !!!! I'm a 65yr old Pk, so not new to this rodeo. It appears to me that many people that identify as "Christian" have not really believed (or placed their faith entirely in Christ and His finished work). Therefore they never truly knew Him and He can't truly know them. This is , in my humble opinion the point of the 7th chapter, top to bottom. The difference between those with an old covenant mentality and those that have accepted The New Covenant Reality. Starting with how we judge the speck in anothers eye, an old covenant judgement. Then, which gate are we entering by, wide road (legalism, good works, religion O. C. M.) or narrow gate of Jesus and His Grace (N.C.R.). Next, your fruit will expose what you believe as the truth, as James says, do you judge others by The Perfect Law of Liberty (Grace the N.C.R.) or by the law (O. C. M.). Even making the point that "you" are a transgressor of the law if that is how you judge others, calls it partiality and a sin. Then come the verses in question, followed by the example of which foundation your life is built on. Sand, an old covenant mentality of self and works or Rock, The New Covenant Reality of Jesus!!!!!!!!!! Peace

If there is no evidence of good works in your life, then one must question the validity of their faith. That's why Jesus, when separating the sheep from the goats, rewarded those who fed the hungry, clothed the naked, etc. with eternal. Too many Christians claim they are saved by faith but don't lift a finger to help those in need.

(5) But whoever keeps his word, God's love has truly been perfected in him. This is how we know that we are in him: 1Jn 3:8-10 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil. (9) Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Why do people like you in the works salvation brigade keep trying to add your filthy self-righteous rags of works to earn and maintain your salvation? It is not about you; it is only about Jesus 100%. Why are you confused about this? Romans 4 1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

I'll tell you where God is not and that is church, church leaders, politicians and atheist are a lot alike, closed minded, ignorant, greedy, corrupt, lying and manipulative. God is not even a God he is an entity, Jesus himself says the father and him are one, do you think his father is the God of the Old Testament.? If you don't know who God is how can you know him? Jesus was created in the beginning from light, Satan was brought forth in a similar way by a different entity and is also a God, In the Old Testament the only one that doesn't suffer is Satan, in the New Testament the only one that suffers is Jesus, can you see that they're different? They may have believed in Jesus plus something else. You have to believe only in Jesus 100% for salvation. You are resting your faith alone in Christ alone to be saved. Adding anything else to that is the problem. They added their works and tried to boast about their works. So they got rejected by Jesus. If you get to heaven, the proper response should be "Lord, Lord, because you said if I believe in you that I have everlasting life" It is all about Jesus and not about you. That is the point. I believe in Jesus Christ alone and I have the promised eternal life. Amen, glory to God! John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 6:47 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. 1 John 2 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 5 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The problem here is that "workers of lawlessness" IS works. A person gets saved by faith alone. However, the walk of faith requires doing those things that demonstrate it. 1 John 3:4 says that sin is transgression of the Law. Continuing to disobey the Law makes a person a sinner. The definition of repenting is "not sinning." Before Jesus arrived, faith was demonstrated by observing those things YHVH said to observe; his Sabbaths and his feasts. They are all prophetic shadows of the Messiah. Now they serve as memorials to His ministry. Observing renamed sun god festivals are lawlessness. Jesus is the Passover Lamb, not the Easter ham.

I have a second comment for you because apparently most people haven't caught on to what the will of the father is. • Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind and with all your strength. • The second is no less important than the first but is equal to it. You must love your neighbors as you love yourself and as you love God and are loved by God. On these two commandments hang all of the laws and all of the prophets they are the fulfillment of lawfulness. To disobey these two laws is to disobey all the laws. By doing what is right by God and by others you're proving yourselves adherence to Christ and are paying your tithe of the holy Spirit to the Lord by the fruits of the works of the Spirit towards God and towards mankind. In plain English, God says if you're a selfish and violent and cruel bastard who only cares about yourself but proclaims the name of Christ like a hypocrite then you are going to be told, "I never knew you depart from me you worker of lawlessness."

@@MyWatchIsEnded Faith without works is dead pertaining to the profitability of man. Like a dead battery. But you are still a child of God through faith. Romans 4 clears this up. You are justified by works before man because man can't 'see' if you truly have faith. They can only judge you by your works. However, you are justified only by faith before God. God imputes righteousness WITHOUT WORKS because of your faith.

The only reason that you think Jesus would tell anyone to 'depart from Him for He doesn't know them' is because 'they' don't know Him. Jesus actually knows everyone. That's one of His qualities that you should certainly know.. The problem is that there are many who don't know Him. The fact is; 'His knowledge' is the most important factor. When the ones "He doesn't know" ... depart to God (fire). God will let these know who Jesus is. "they shall be saved so as by fire". Everyone is forgiven because all are died for by Jesus. The ones who are "saved" are the ones who finally know who Jesus is (they are believers). The most important truth that you should know is that Jesus died for everyone. He took all sin away. Sin in gone because of Jesus. That's why He came. The actual "fools" are the ones that say that 'there is no hope for you in God.' Tell people who Jesus is. God will do the rest. All will eventually know Him. If you don't get the message across to them then God certainly will eventually. The importance of people finding out about Jesus in this life is that it gives God a lot of joy; it pleases Him because "faith pleases Him". As parents; we are pleased when our kids learn. All do eventually learn who Jesus is..."All shall know Him from the least to the greatest". There is no hell; there is only Heaven. "By His knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many." God is better than you think He is.

Both cannot be true. You would better call them professing Christians. One is not a Christian unless he/she is in Christ and Christ is in them. Just sayin'....

@wtom04 Not repenting of sin is saying "I have no sin to have forgiven. Its calling God a liar ! 1 John 1:8-10 8 [IF] we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 [IF] we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 [IF] we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Repentance is the first step to salvation along with believing that Jesus died on the cross was buried and rose again. Psalms 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. Psalms 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Ezekiel 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.” Psalms 80:3 Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved. Lamentations 5:21 Restore us to yourself, Lord, that we may return; renew our days as of old. Jeremiah 18:8 And if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned Ezekiel 33:9 But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from [Repent] their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved. 2 Chronicles 7:14 IF my people which are called by my name shall HUMBLE THEMSELVES and pray and seek my face and TURN FROM their WICKED WAYS then will I hear from heaven and FORGIVE THEIR SINS and heal their land. Will you? It's because 'Christians' and Disciples of Immanuel ha'meshiach are two different groups of people who each serve their own God. Most Christians serve the, "God of this world", who Jesus says, "..was a murderer from the beginning..", as opposed to Immanuel (Jesus) who serves His Father the, "LORD Most High". Which in the original spelling is called, "El Elyon", as opposed to the false God who wanted to ascend to the heavenly realm of God and to steal His authority and power and so he masquerades as a god of light and calls himself, "the one true god", aka monotheism.

Read II Peter 2:20-21- But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was every made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. I Peter 3:20-21- Because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is , eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you." Read Romans 6:3-8- I used to believe as you do when I went to the Baptist church. They taught salvation by saying the sinners prayer, asking God for forgiveness and letting Jesus into your heart. The problem I discovered was this belief was and is not supported by scripture.

I don't get it. How can you say that they didn't believe in God? How could someone cast out demons, or prophesy (accurately, I'm assuming), if they didn't believe in God? If someone doesn't believe in God, then that person doesn't have the authority to cast out demons, right? This doesn't make sense to me.

Hi perhaps this will help: If you read the text carefully (and not the way so many portray it ) you will see that that when Jesus says "he who does the will of My Father" He is referring to His followers living holy and obedient lifestyles, as Jesus has just spelled out in His Sermon on the Mount (Ch 5-7). Verses 7:21-27 are Jesus' closing remarks for the entire sermon. So these people Jesus refers to here are those, who chase after signs miracles and wonders, but do not pay attention to living holy lives, as Jesus has instructed in His sermon. The key thing to take note of in the text is that the word "therefore" in verse 24 links these concluding statements (vs 21-27) to the entire sermon He has just preached. The beatitudes alone (which Jesus gives in 5:2-12) should be sufficient to reveal this truth to anyone who has ears to hear and eyes to see. I Hope this helps you, but I suppose some people (not you, but others) will lambaste me for my comments. 🙂🙂
