Why Would People Choose To Be LGBT+? | It makes no sense to me why people think we would choose to be lgbt+. It doesn't get us attention and if it does get us attention it's mostly negative attention. So why?

My dad thinks me being trans is just a phase. Its been 7 years... "Just a phase" Really? He is basically making my life way harder than it needs to be not letting me get hormone blockers, now I have to worry about my chest and my voice. Thanks alot dad!! And he expects me to love him. 0_0

Yeah homophobes make no sense. They say it's a phase when it's literally life long.

It's an extremely impactful procedure and he just probably wants the best for you in terms of health, that's why he's waiting for you to get over being trans, from his point of view

@@Nick-lx4fo It isn't nearly as impactful as the effects of puberty on a trans person's body, mental health, and future. Being denied gender-affirming care quite literally kills people, and surgeries to reverse the effects of puberty are often difficult to access and afford. All hormone blockers do is delay puberty. They don't cause a person to go through their trans biological sex's puberty. Plenty of people don't go through puberty 'til they're 18, with no ill effects, so what harm do you think is being done by delaying a trans child's puberty until they're an adult? Where's the "extreme" impact?

why would i choose to miss out on experiencing love for all of my childhood years until i turn 18 because i "want to be special or different" 😑

It isn't based on love, it's based on sex. We can share love with anybody: parents, children, other family members, friends, pets, even in the way we relate to acquaintanes and strangers.

@@blrbrazil1718 what? You think being LGBT+ is only about sex? Please go learn.

@@SquishyMain: the entire definition is based on sex. How could it be about anything else? Life, in contrast, embraces a vast range of possibilities and people should be allowed to form their identity over time, based on the learning, experiences and wisdom they acquire on life's journey. That's why children are not allowed to vote, to drive or be forced into doing a host of other things they are not ready for. The age of responsibility varies, which is why we find 10-year olds who deliberately decide to torture and murder another person, and that is why the courts in sensible countries make allowance for such variations.

@@blrbrazil1718 what are you talking about? What definition? Also asexual is part of LGBT+ that is the opposite of all about sex. I am asexual, so I want nothing to do with sex. LGBT+ people literally do all of the same things you do, does that mean all of the things you do are all about sex? No. So what the hell are you talking about? LGBT+ is about love and equality.

Delightful, isn't it? I remember being told that as a teenager in the early 2000s, because clearly, being attracted to women was for the benefit of men. 🤮 Why don't they understand that we just want to be left alone to live our lives in peace?

I'm so sorry for the pain, negativity, and cruelty you've experienced. Huge solidarity hugs and a lot of love to you. No one should ever be made to feel lesser and treated badly for who they are, or invalidated by strangers so blinded by bigotry that they don't even see the people they're targeting as human. I've only reached the point where I would choose to be the way I am, and the person I am sometimes/most of the time, after three and a half decades in a world where I could die because a man is threatened by any feelings of attraction to me (or just by the fact that I exist) and some people see me as an abomination. I wouldn't choose the pain and the bigotry, but I would choose to be this person, because without being queer, intersex, and nonbinary, I wouldn't be me (I still struggle with dysphoria, authentic presentation, and quietly flying under the radar out of fear). I hope we reach the day when to be LGBTQIA+ means simply being able to live in a world that accepts us, and where we don't have to suffer for being who we are. There are still times - including recently - when I feel exactly what you're describing in this video. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to make it. Pride month isn't all sunshine and roses. It's important to remember and acknowledge the pain that people feel and the struggles they face, and hear stories and feelings like yours. You're important, too. I hope you know that, and I hope better days are ahead for you in the near future.

yeah. first i thought this vid was homophobic, and i was gona type about why people dont choose to be gay, but i realized what u were talkign about, but yeah my guy or girl or other. its just, crazy. nice comments are rare. idk why people are like, have you tried not to be trans? like they think its a choice. its really hard. and being LGBT+ is really scary when you realize. its not a choice. i wish i didnt have to be trans, SO BADLY but it the only way i can go through my life without being dead inside is being trans, you know? i wish to be normal, but i cant. but i can tell you why people think we choose this. some people just say theya re gay for fun, or trans, foir fun. idk man, it just sucks heh i dont have an answer. it really sucks. and EXACTLY! i live on a farm. ANIMALS ARE SO GAY!!!! and animals can kinda be trans because if the male leader dies sometimes the female who was kinda under the male can take the role of the male. im really sorry you sound so sad in this vid. please dont hurt yourself. i used to do that and its not good even though it feels kinda weridly good at the time. *virtual hug* idk if its a comfort but you can talk or rant to me whenever you like, even tho im only 16. but i feel kinda ashamed of who i am heh so im only really good for ranting to and just talkign to cause i dotn have an answer either. i tell you what does help though, i watch alot of trans memes and bi memes. i can give you soem links if you like. im sorry abiut my bad spalling. spelling. ^w^

@@SquishyMain yeah my mum says i always sound so miserable. and exactly we dont choose to have harder life it makes no sence whatso ever!!!!!sorry my comment sounds low iq with poor spelling. im not very smart. but its good that u made a video, but the phobics will never listen to reason cause their kinda insane. like, you think i would CHOOSE to hate my body everysingle day and live in fear of how dissapointed my parents are gona be when they find out what I am? but thing is some people do just call themselves trans for fun. ive met people and they say 'just cause i like to call myself trans' or 'cause its fun' so maybe they think cause of that...? idk. ah idk im dumb :P

It's not KZfaq. Well, not deliberately. Having posted multiple times, I've had a few comments ghosted by the algorithm.
