I head to Buckinghamshire in the UK to check out the brand new 2017 Audi RS3 Sportback and Saloon. I've always felt like a saloon/coupe version of the RS3 would be mega so I was very excited to check out the new car.

I think the word he was looking for is 'character', sounds like the car is too easy to drive whereas the M2 probably slides around a bit more on edge. Sounds like the GT-R vs 911 debate, one is good for speed and stability and the other is built for pure driving fun.

I'd pick the Audi in a heartbeat, it might not be as fun to drive as an M2 but that's the kind of car you daily not the one you take to the track. The interior design (subjective) and finish (objective) is way better in the Audi, it seems to be in a class above really. And it looks more distinctive than any BMW imo.

I was literally thinking, I would rather have the new 2018 BMW M2", right before you say the same! How crazy is that. The Audi is good, but not great. And the BMW's new 2018 M2 with the new headlights, wider flared fenders, and updated tail lights, the car is so sick!

youtubers will complain the gear change is too violent and say it needs to be smoother, then when its smoother they say its bad that the gear change isnt more noticeable. makes a lot of sense

Every time I hear, "get a Golf R" I cringe. Not in the same league. Drove into Audi in a MY16 S3, drove out in a MY18 RS3. The sound can't be portrayed in these videos. It's pure porn! Build quality for price, unmatched.

This quality of this production is intimidatingly good. Choice of music is always fresh; such a fresh change from the generic dubstep and chipmunk voices of typical car channels. Looking to start one myself soon, this is the goal - without copying of course! Keep it up as always!

I really like your newer reviews! The video quality is great, the music selection is relaxing, you give unbiased opinions on the cars, and I feel like you relate to the common car enthusiast more than, say, Shmee150. Although I love his channel, I'm quickly becoming more and more excited each time you release a new video. My favorite part of this particular video was at the end where you re-emphasized that, while the RS3 is a great car, you personally prefer the BMW M2. Real car journalism! Keep up the good work Sam, I will continue to get excited for your new videos.

M2 (non competiton) vs RS3: Power: RS3. Handling/fun factor: M2. Suspension: RS3 (magnetic suspension). Exhaust note: RS3. Interior: RS3! (M2 is OLD!). Practicality: RS3. Daily driver: RS3 (nordic conditions). Seats: RS3 (M2 seats are small, uggly and not that comfortable) Nuff said.

I liked this one a lot! He pretty much sums up the point of Audi RS cars that many sport car enthusiasts do not get. Some people love thrills with lower usability and practicality. And then there are those that love usable power, but are not keen on the car "overpowering them". And those pick the RS´s. None is cleverer or wittier, they just have different wants and needs.

But the question is, what is the difference between these 'New Models' and the pre-2017 RS3? Looks the same to me.

Daniel Vidial It looks pretty much the same but the engine in the facelifted model is different! For starters it now has its block and crank made of aluminium so it's 26 kgs lighter as a whole (these parts were made of steel before!)! It also has a revised injection system and a revised turbocharger, so now it churns out 400hp (instead of 367!) and 480nm of torque (instead of 465nm!)! Also, the new engine has a different cover, you can't see the 5 multipliers for the spark plugs anymore!

New led headlights, virtual cockpit, dynamic turn signals are the main differences in the 2017 facelift. They also updated the dual clutch.

Here in Canada with our poor winter weather the RS3 would be my choice over a rear wheel drive BMW especially at the same price. Thanks for the great review.

Audi are doing everything right with the RS range at the moment. From the RS3 all they way up to the RS7 the cars are great. I got a ride in a friends RS6 a couple of months ago and it was insane.

I can respect your decision the Rs3 is a incredible car but BMWs do have that special something that makes you feel part of the car , I think if It was going to be my only car the RS3 hands down, but as a second car for the more fun Beemer all the way !

In my opinion, the interior of the A45 looks better, starting with the seats, dashboard "texture" and stuff like that. But you're right, it's a totally usable car in any weather PS: Clickbait on Archie's new video lol

I looked at an RS3 two years ago and had one on loan, but couldn't justify the extra 9k over the S3 for not a lot more. Lovely cars though:)

I'd have the RS3 just for the engine alone. Miles more characterful than the A45. This or an M140i which is a hell of a lot cheaper than both are my personal favourite super hot hatches or "Hyper Hatches."

The RS3 sedan or sprtback would be my best daily driver! It has power , sound and luxury for my city.

This is the most dayli driver car on its category, but that doesnt mean that is the best, i think it is too boring and i would prefer a m2 or even a merc cla cause it looks better and it has a similar drivetrain

To get the thrills you are looking for you have to drive the car hard in dynamic mode. Gotta find the right roads/track. To each there own. If you ever get a chance push the car hard, Audi's a very fun. Dor check out APR staged Audi's. Amazing videos like always.
