I'm not against grab straps per se. I just think that this style is very poorly placed. We've got no power when lifting with a bent arm. The shorter you are the more useless it becomes.

them grab straps have gotten me out of some really sticky situations, it's not really for lifting the bike it's for dragging/pulling the bike, even something as simple as pushing the bike up into the pickup because it's a higher point of contact you can grab the back end just drag it up,

It’s about having options. You may not need it but when you do you have it there.

Okay, I need to take you riding with me and the boys...The rear strap comes in handy when you're on a steep hill, bike is lower than you are and you're trying to pick it up, especially when it goes off camber. Almost lost the bike down a cliff, the trail gave out and we had to pull the bike back up before it was completely lost, used the rear strap. Front strap, naaa, not really needed and I agree, don't touch me bike.

My favourite trails are trails that threaten to defeat me, yet I have no interest in a grab strap.

It is not the best, but definitely better than anything else in the backend. If you have only plastics to grab, that is perfect. And you can tilt the bike to make the handle lower. Works also for dragging the backend from a ditch or deep rut if needed for some reason.

Ride hard enduro one day and you’ll know why that strap is there 😂

They are handy when the bike is low, and you can't get any leverage on the normal grab pt. In a deep rut, off the side of a hill, stuck between some nasty roots, in some deep mud, etc Also comes in handy when trying to turn your bike around on a failed hill climb.

Im thinking if dragging the bike up a hill thats really steep while alone. I dont use it, but was in a situation just last week end where it would have been somewhat useful. Way steep and way loose. Had to drag it up to a spot that had some traction. KTM doesnt have great grab spots in my opinion, either plastic, sharp or a pinch point in my experience.

I tell myself it's so I don't get a handful of mud but the reality is when you're tired an easier lift involves getting muddy gloves and I rarely use the thing 😂

Yeah, I've never had straps. I always use the fender if it's strong or the subframe/side panel.
