Good morning Roland. So pleased that you shared your reverse parallel parking technique particularly without the use of a reverse camera. Would you be able to show a future video reverse parking a car between two closely parked cars or in a narrow street which is typical on UK roads? Thank you😊

20+yrs ago you could always always tell from parked cars in any car park if the driver was male/female because women would never reverse park, they would always drive straight into an empty space. I've seen women get out of their cars and ask me to reverse park their cars for them. I used to say back then, why isn't it part of a driving test or even reversing round a corner which thankfully they introduced both of them. Cars are becoming so advanced they pretty much park themselves but i was always taught mirrors mirrors mirrors. Cool video, takes me back to some of my old instructors tips.

I passed last year but always forward bay park and reverse out, I do sometimes reverse bay park but not parallel parked since I had my lessons. Wish I lived closer as reckon you’d teach me parking in one lesson! I do have a plan to get either a friend or an instructor to get my parking confidence back! I always remember parallel parking as lovely red roses, (left, right, right)

@@GetWheelDriving Honestly wish I was closer as I’d book a lesson with you. I’ll definitely get this sorted, just need to practice and work on it as with me it’s all about confidence and practice as have to work round a few health conditions too.

I’m exactly the same. Passed a year ago and can’t parallel park. I always reverse into the bay or forward park. Tried last week and I was all over the place.

I'm waiting to do my adi part 2, my instructor got me to do 2 horrible (to me anyway) parallel parks. One was behind a vehicle half parked on the pavement, that didn't work out too well, took me 3 or 4 goes to get it right, reference points were more of a hindrance, once I ignored them and did it how it just felt right I got it in. And a second, really narrow street, where probably only just enough room for the car next to me to open it's door, and my offside wheels nearly touching the kerb, not enough space to put much of a turn on the wheels, I did it just fine, even though the car was reversing for quite a bit longer than normal. Instructor did say that I shouldn't get anything like that on the driving test, but did it to see how I dealt with the situation, and it has boosted my confidence, because if I can do it in non standard tricky situations, then I should nail it on my test

Sounds like you’ve got it. Not a bad idea at all to practise parking in uncomfortable situations because you just never know on a part 2 and no need to use ref points. Just keep it safe and in control. Good luck on your part 2! Go get it done🙌

The amount of times you see cars parked up and see the front end is slightly pointing out at a angle, is because they forgot the 3 point or what I call it they haven't paid it back so if you turn the steering wheel half a turn to the left you have to pay it back by turning half a turn to the right.

Not every space is the same. Always look where you want to go and trust your eyes. Then it simply comes down to practice. In real life some spaces can be that tight you nieed to go really slow and may need a bit back and forth to get the front to come in .

Very true! It does only come with practise. Shifting the car forward and back in tight spots is very normal 👍

I passed about a year ago and started driving in Feb this year. General driving is ok, but ALL parking is a disaster. Im just too far from the kerb, and if there isn't a massive space for me to adjust, then i have to find another space. Does it ever get better??😫😫😫

can't make the right angle every time doing parallel parking, especially on a busy street where nobody can wait while you're parking poorly. I mean how to make the right angle ??? sigh

That is missing from this vid. Could do another version on a tight busy rd. to demonstrate how to control the situation and the angle chosen. I hope this vid helped though! Don’t worry keep practicing it’ll come! 🙌
