Great video. I figured this out on my own but, it took a loooong time, and that was after taking lessons from three different instructors. They were focused on my upper body moves, which needed fixing, however you can have some unorthodox upper body moves and still hit it good if you got you lower half working right. OTOH, it rarely works in reverse.

I can’t squat because I’m 70 holding off on knee replacement on both knees. But you youngsters listen. I only wish I would have had access to these free lessons when I was 30

Excellent lesson and explanation this go jchown. Drilling the hip rotation squat improved my ball/turf striking and has added some distance. As a side note it has added some consistent height to my ball flight.

Very good. your thoughts on this... My experience has been that if I can prevent the lead hip from moving OUT in the back swing, I can clear it in better fashion. So, in the backswing, I keep the depth of the lead hip which encourages the trail hip to get deep in the backswing, then clearing lead hip is facilitated.

This just may be what I'm looking for. I have been fatting my clubs for the most part. This drill allows my club to properly strike the ball.

My focus today was making sure that I bent my knees. But there were moments when I pushed my tee shot to the right (into the tres). I believe I was standing up during the downswing. My left knee has been a little achy lately. But the ache is going away. This lesson was very insightful for me. Bending at the knees helps me to rotate my hips. The last detail is pushing my left hip back.

If you throw from the top, you're already in the process of standing up to keep from falling over. Things happen fast. Everything gotta be correct! Sequence and motion is everything.

What worked for me was at the top of my backswing, i would start the downswing by turning my right hip towards the target. It creates the squat and moves you towards the target naturally. I struggled to hit the ball high but mastering this feeling every shot has a good trajectory.

@@lasvegasbreakingnews1752 Don't tell me how I swing a club. The feeling of turning the right hip first helps me clear my hips. When doing so I move towards the target and create the squat move. It works for me, I'm not saying it will work for everyone. My ball striking is decent too with a nice little draw.

So what's the deal with the pros pelvis ' decreasing angle throughout? I understand towards the finish.. But I wondered what your thoughts are and perhaps pointing me in the right direction.

Agree hip flexion is crucial but wouldn’t side bend also play a significant role in trying to “stay down” through the shot?

I will say something that no youtuber says... 1. Start by recording yourself swinging the driver then the 7 iron and then the wedge..learn how to record yourself and watch it and learn why you look rediculous vs. a tour pro. 2. Get a cheap tv one you can draw on with a dry erase marker or use some type of tape to create lines of shoulders, hips , and back alignment along with your ball position. 3. Spend HOURS, DAYS,WEEKS, MONTHS, YEARS on the range rather than going onto the first tee and praying to God..wont help you need to practice correctly and develop the right muscle memory because not 1 or 2 or 3 in fact no lessons will help you..your teaching pro sucks too and is just their to make a living off your consistent misery which is the only part of your game that is consistent! 4. Get off the couch and quit giving the unnecessary attention to that female or male i guess that doesnt understand what you are saying or how you are feeling..stretch until you damn near pull muscles ,rest and then again and do this until you can place your palms flat on the floor without bending your knees..make sure you are flexible enough where you can do this immediately after those poor nights of sleep you endure. 5. once youve achieved all this and think youve arrived 🤣 enter a tournament well beyond your previous capabilities and guage your progress only to find out your mental game is the real problem and now its time to find a pbone book and a map to the nearest psych doctor LOL.. 6. if the previous 5 do not work than your answer becomes simple...TRY BOWLING

Does the left hip go back from whence it came, the way it came? OR is it going backwards, which would be slightly inside of it's original position?

It'll be going backwards from it's original position and also moves left [for a right hander] since the lower body/weight is going left and 'at and after impact' the left hip is slightly tilted up since the hips are tilted forward a bit thru the swing. Then finish, you stand, hold the pose, body facing the target a few seconds.
