there is a line over which crocodiles appear in australia - basically you are risking your life when you go bathing anywhere above that line. also note that at ends of rivers there is river crocs that venture out into the ocean and up the coast a bit. dont go near a river or lake above that latitude. there is many people who think getting close to a croc is funny. crocs can be extremely fast on land for a short period of time. be extremely careful as crocs will definitely see you as prey.

I moved to south FL recently, a stone skip away from the northern everglades. Ive had a recurring nightmare my whole adult life of being trapped, dangling from a broken bridge with a non moving mud colored river dozens of feet beneath me with enough gators staring up at me to run across the length of the river without touching water once. The dream always ends with me falling, the gators lunging upwards out of the water like theyre recieiving their weekly feeding at a wildlife sanctuary and im todays treat

Living in Darwin, I personally wouldnt swim at beaches, although kids get taught "Little Nippers" (Surf Life Saving) at the beach, much like anywhere else in AU. Would not get into ANY RIVERS. Noone does. During the dry season some swimming holes in and around national parks are monitored, set up with croc traps, and are usually filled with people swimming, but theres always a risk. Places like Wangai Falls, Victoria Falls, Florence Falls at LItchfield National Park are examples of such places.

the title should be called why you don't go swimming in ''northern'' australia. crocs only live northern australia where it's warm enough for crocs to live all year round. central. and southern australia has no crocs as it's not warm enough for crocs to live in those parts all year round. crocs aren't like american aligators where they can survive in sub freezing temps. if temps drop below 50f/10c crocs will die, that's why crocs are only found in tropical regions.

I grew up in Sydney Australia I had never seen a Crocodile in person that wasn’t in captivity. First time going to Darwin I went to a restaurant that overlooked a beach. The water was light blue like something out of a Hawaiian movie (in Sydney it’s darker). I thought to myself ‘i would love to swim in that’. Then I notice a crocodile warning sign and as I go to look further down on the sand bank I see over 100 massive fucking crocodiles sunning themselves on the sand. I mean there was so fucking many I could barely see the sand. That’s when I knew I would never step in the ocean in any part of Northern Australia.

Imagine the pain…. The horrific crushing pain shooting through your body as your head/torso is inside something that feels like a torqued vice forcing knives into your chest and back. My god the crushing feeling like your skull is going to explode… you are below the surface and you can’t go up because whatever is weighing you down won’t let go. You try to scream in pain and panic…. A horrific scream cut short by water filling your lungs. The pain intensifies because of that and the vice torques harder. A fleeting moment of frustration because you are not in control of yourself or your environment anymore; rather something else controls whether you breathe, stop hurting, make it back to the surface to swim to the shore now. It’s just crushing claustrophobia, horrific pain, and convulsions as you panic and try to breathe but know you can’t. A fleeting moment of thoughts floods your mind: You will never see your Mom and Dad again…never get to hug them and tell them you love them and say “Merry Christmas.” Some other dude is gonna be pounding your girlfriend or wife’s p*ssy eventually busting nut after nut into her because you will be gone. Your dog is gonna sit at the window for a month straight waiting for you to come home and your cats are gonna both just stop eating altogether and walk around the house meowing and calling out to you to no avail. You will never wake up again because…. Oh god no…. A 🐊 is taking me…. Oh no please let me go…… Just imagine.

Here’s a good example don’t swim in Australia where there are crocs so for tourists basically don’t swim anywhere from North Queensland to Darwin and you’ll be fine or just swim in the ocean since our crocodiles rarely go there unless their finding a new river system and their usually not that big because their moving so they don’t get ripped apart by bigger ones and if you go fishing in a croc area don’t have a pattern of when you go or go to the same spot let’s say you fish at the same spot for 3 days at the same time they will remember you and figure out when’s the best time to grab ya. I guarantee you that croc has been watching humans jump off that before and hence why it was so quickly to try and grab him it knew exactly where to hide their smarter then you think

Reminds me of a go pro shark video i seen years ago, people yelling "shark" from a deck high above, in that case a guy jumped in the water and came in contact with this ferocious killer. Eventually someone broke down the video of the person swimming away and their depths in the water compared to the sharks, and found it was just edited. Now i dont doubt Australia is a dangerous place, but it seems like theres teeth in a POV shot of the body, only to have this swimmer get away scot-free. So the jurys still out for me!

Everyone swims in the lakes in florida. Crocs are more aggressive and not hunted enough. The USA is smart enough to kill the aggressive alligators and hunt them to keep the sizes down and population under control so they dont go after humans. The only alligator attacks I have heard from occurred in Florida suburbs because the gators are not hunted.

think about.... his mate is the whole time in the water, when you ENTER the water,Crocodiles are 110% Aware of that...no joking arround, even if they are on land they will Register it^^ So He jumps then into the water, and gets attacked almost immediately...as he pops back up. STRANGE^^ this might be fake or true... He can escape it if it was a small Crocodile/Aligator. And also when they strike/bite it's possible to miss/fail. but if this is true, unlucky that you survived. Next time please try to swimm in GreatWhiteShark infected water.....because it's almost the same. NOT your territory and they will appear from nowhere xD Learn or Die #TryHard
