With this policy, DYMO should give the printers away for free. (NB: IBM tried this scam decades ago, forcing users to buy punch cards only from IBM.) Very informative video.

Dymo got too greedy. Their series 5 printers are selling way below MSRP with poor ratings on Amazon. They also have to deal with a ton of returns from customers that had no idea about the DRM labels.

I also HATE the software so much! It was better with my Dymo that I was forced to give up because they don't support it anymore. This new one's software is the worst! It is slow, non-responsive, non-intuitive, hard to use. You lost the function of CTR+P and easy search through large databases. This new one crashes, is horrific and the customer service that I got when he logged onto my computer to try and figure it out, he did NOT fix it and he messed up my Quickbooks and I had to have Quickbooks support fix it. What a nightmare. I am going to find another label writer that is not Dymo. I was a huge fan. Now I am leaving.

Sounds rough, the brother software is pretty solid. It's called P-Touch Editor. And it has some pretty good time-saving features.

except that isnt a hack, it keeps count of how many labels are left on the roll, so yeah he was able to make it print on the off brand labels, but once the number of printed labels goes over how many labels are supposed to be in the dymo roll then it will stop working unless you got another chip in another dymo roll

Or install the printer new maybe? Software count? Prehaps we can reset it in the registry?

@@Arcella1981 cut the chip off and tape it to the inside of the dymo printer ... you are welcome..

@@Hamissobym3 that MIGHT work but some times they are made to count how many were printed off that chip and then will not work after that lik if you bought a 32 label roll the. After the 32 label you print it basically will not work with that chip any more and would need a new one

BRING BACK THE 450 INSTRUCTIONS/SETUP. This new set up is crap. Hundreds of your customers valuable time wasted. DYMO 450 was the best and easiest label writer ever - with this one you need to set up new every single time, they cant be saved at the side like before - have to be saved on the PC - as if you would bother. The large label you have to drag all the sides out to make the text fit the large label - every time. I print hundreds of different labels. Took hours to download too. And you force us to buy your brand labels - how dare you. Total Crap so angry with you fools. You should value your paying customers who made your company.
