I came across this video at a perfect time. My summer break has started and it's high time for me to stop procrastinate and actually do what has to be done. I always suck to estimate how long it will take to do certain things. I make things hard for myself. I always get over hype and write so many things on my to do list and at the end of the day i feel like trash for not completely even a single task properly. I'll try my very best to let of my self destructive habits and be a person i want to become.

I'm way too much of a time optimist, and setting unrealistic expectations of what I could get done in a day and not completing them made me feel like trash, I actually adopted the time tracking about a year ago and color code it based on my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. framework, it's really easy to glance at what kind of things we have to spend the most time on and then set realistic goals based on that. The video provides practical solutions for people who feel like they never have enough time. The first point discussed is the importance of setting clear priorities, as having no priorities or too many of them can lead to overwhelm and burnout. The speaker recommends choosing no more than three items related to future goals to accomplish each day. This helps to set the day up for success and create a sense of accomplishment. The second point discussed is the tendency to underestimate how long it takes to do things. The speaker suggests conducting a time audit to track how long different activities take and then reflecting on whether our expectations are realistic. This can help us to become more efficient and avoid overcommitting ourselves. I think these are excellent tips for anyone struggling with time management. It's important to set clear priorities and avoid overcommitting ourselves, as this can lead to burnout and stress. The time audit is also an excellent idea, as it helps us to become more aware of how we're spending our time and make adjustments as needed. Overall, I think this video provides practical and actionable advice for anyone looking to better manage their time.

Don't wait till you have inspirations or determination to do something. If you keep waiting for it you'll die not doing anything. I used to be just like yourself for years. For example, I always want to avoid working out, but regardless of what my brain is saying "Do it tomorrow", "You're too tired to do it right now", "You had an horrible day, you deserve to relax", I just do it anyways because I'm sure I'll feel better when I'm done. Also, don't ever forget why you are working out for, studying for, etc. When you forget your purpose, you stop doing it. And if you feel really drained out, then you should go to therapy because it just shows your mental health is not okay and you'd seek help.

For years I thought I don't have time, energy and motivation to exercise until I discovered I was doing it at the wrong time of the day! Now I start my morning with exercise and it works 🎉. I was so hard on myself before because I thought I have to exercise and I am doing harm on my body because I didn't do it😅. So I also started thinking the other way around: that every time I do something I am doing good for my body 🥰.

When I was in K-12 I felt like I was always behind because they crammed 5+ subjects into an 8 hour window every day. In college I felt like I actually had breathing room and was actually learning things for the first time because I had 1-3 classes a day max. It also gave me time to re review material before a class and I actually had all the answers to the professor’s questions. Realizing this is eye opening. Sadly we can’t do as many things as we’d like but we’ll actually get those 3 goals we set for ourselves.
@threnoidia
@threnoidia Жыл бұрын
I feel the opposite. Maybe relating to his point about the time of day you do things, I feel like commuting to and around the school for classes took way more time in uni as well as the insane amount of assignments and reading that had to be done at odd hours around and even between classes and tutorials, then you go home and do more studying and assigned reading and online assignments for each of those 1-4 classes which spills over into the evening. In K-12 you show up and focus then you go home, maybe 2 hours of homework max, if there even is any, for all the subjects combined and then you're free.
@LumiLunar
@LumiLunar Жыл бұрын
@@threnoidia I definitely agree that the time of day you do things is key. Like I mentioned college gave me time to study and reviewed material right before a class whereas I was always cramming at night during high school. What helped me was having the flexibility to read and reread material over and over again so concepts really began to stick and I was able to commit new material to memory rather than just cramming for an exam and forgetting it all the following week.

#2 ist interesting, because for me it is also the other way around quite often. Simple example: my gym is really right next to my work. When I want to participate in a course which starts at 17.00, I usually leave work at 16.30. My goal is to be there 5min earlier (16.55) to safe a good spot in the course room. So, I think I need 5min to arrive at the gym, and 15min to get dressed in my sports clothes, fill up my water bottle, go to the bathroom once more etc. In the end this whole process takes 10min and there I am waiting for 20min until the course begins...and this applies to many situations in my life :')

I know for a fact that I don’t do my best in the early morning cause I’m still processing waking up and becoming human, and I keep choosing classes and work schedules that interrupt my natural work flow. The only time that I didn’t feel like I was out of time for my own life was when I worked at a job that started at 3pm, all the jobs that started around 8-9am made me feel like I’m going insane with the amount of time I lost because I was working
