Everything why the E39 M5 is one of the greatest cars made. Period

I have a 2008 e90, no M power but I love her. I live in Brooklyn NYC and sometimes the snow is anxiety inducing since it's RWD. But I just throw it into Manual mode so I don't fishtail and if I do get stuck, sport mode usually gets me out without using sand. It's surprising how many maintenance things you can do yourself to save money. Everyone said I made a mistake when I got her. 10 years later everyone gives me compliments. Point is, if you treat them with love, they'll take care of you. Subscribed and binging. Keep it up bro.

Fantastic car!! Mines a 2000 now on 190k miles. I paid $12k 6 yrs ago at 117k miles. The best car I have ever owned and I have owned lots of cars/trucks etc. SPH "Smiles per hour"!!

You’re right about it being timeless and beautiful from any angle.. very few cars look good both front and rear.. even fewer from any other angle as well. Also yes, the 400hp isnt fenomal but it moves, and does so like nothing else.. heck, so does the e30 m3 nd it would get walked by any random family car iff the lot. Its no longer about being fastest.. One thing you maybe should add is maintenance have a huge effect on power, as lazy or faulty vanos, old mafs o2’s cps’s etc all play a role and needs to be tip top for full driving pleasure and power. One thing you never mentioned anything about is how easy this car is to diy on. Very well thought through. Very ease to take apart. And that engine bay is really the prettiest engine bay in any sedan at its time and after. Go see for yourself

When I was young I wanted a 5 series BMW and dodge viper were my dream car .the e39 2000-2003 is BMW’s best design.I argued with friend’s between the reg 5 series and the M’s.I never seen a M5 on the street . from when I was a teen just the reg 5 series the designed looked like the same car.So after they explained the difference i kept looking for a car with that badge then finally ! At 29! I was walking down the road one day and heard a car engine like no other. i turned around and seen it pull up at the light and seen that badge and was sold from jump! M5 the G.O.A.T!!

Yeah I fell in love with BMW long time ago and never thought I would ever own one and then I had a chance and I ended up getting a 99 M5 528i the straight six 5 speed and yes I would love more power but at the same time this car is just so fun and amazing to drive have little bit of problems but I fix them it's a really great car to have if you ever have a chance to get one you won't regret it I love the video keep it up can you do some donuts though sometimes Lol

You talk about the newer cars, well a new M5’s are expensive as hell and for a badass e39 M5 it’s a sweet daily and when someone in a early 200’s mustang, charger, Honda, or whatever they won’t expect an early 2000’s bmw to roast them. Lol I beat an corvette in my e39 530i it was funny. That’s with an I6 not V8

I bought my e39 m5 with 73K miles for $14,500 with tax and registration...

I'd prefer an e36 M3, e46 M3 or even an e34 M5 over the e39. The e39 looks dull in my eyes and its a bit too heavy for my liking. The engine is nice tho, but so is S50/S54/S38.

You don't have to buy an M5 for big money.... I have a 2000 BMW 540i, 6 speed, dinan tune ,M sport suspension. upgraded Intake, throttle body, Cat and resonator delete, 3" after the collector. On staggered 19"s... it'll run with M5s
