Visited Japan, this video is extremely accurate. Was a blessing seeing no Stan Smiths everywhere except for the occasional tourist.

lol what's wrong with the Stan Smith it's a versatile shoe and its clean, not hypebeast at all, but you could make a case for the SuperStar

Potato Sir I think Stan Smith's are nice why wouldn't you wear em?
@potatosir6556
@potatosir6556 6 жыл бұрын
Problem is, you and the rest of the USA/Europe thinks they're cool too, and everyone has a pair. The issue lies within the fact that the Stan is a gigantic trend, it wouldn't have been so popular if it wasn't for Adidas making waves in recent years. Everyone and their grandmother has them (literally) and too much of something relatively new is just sickening.

Love the video and I agree that Japan does streetwear based around their own personal interests the best, the freedom to wear whatever style you want without anyone judging you is one of the best feelings ever. Truly liberating

Oh oh, now the Korean dudes in Gangnam are going to come after you lol. As someone who has lived in both, I agree, in Korea, it's over the top flashy, because they compete with each other and in Japan, it's a personal preference and/or more appreciation for the lifestyle. Oh, now they're going to come after me now. It's true though. Also, quality and variety is in Japan's favor, by a long shot.

Completely agree with all of this. There's a giant spectrum in Japanese style and aesthetics whereas in Korea it's more of the same trying to over the top to compete against each other.

I was born in SK and living in SK rn, totally agree on what you said. These people in my country don’t know how to appreciate the culture, and only focus on showing off themselves trynna tell they’re the best. That’s why i think there is absolute none progress going on in SK fashion.

@WeAreSMC96
@WeAreSMC96 6 жыл бұрын
most of them work as part-time jobs with mostly in shops lies within the spectrum of "fashion", like cafes, retails, thrift shops, bookstores etc, given that people can have several different "part time jobs" in order to pursue their passion, including modeling and own brand clothing release (as in the case for fashion design graduates).
