You can make a natural mosquito repellent at home using essential oils and other easily accessible ingredients.
Small Batch Recipe:
Essential Oils:
20 drops of Lemon Eucalyptus Oil
15 drops of Lavender Oil
10 drops of Tea Tree Oil
Large Batch Recipe:
2.0 oz Lemon Eucalyptus Oil
.75 oz Lavender Oil
.25 oz. Tea Tree Oil
mixed with 3 oz Polysorbate 80
Carrier:
20oz. Witch Hazel
20oz. Water
1oz. Glycerin
Instructions:
Combine the essential oils in a small spray bottle.
Add the witch hazel or vodka to the bottle.
Pour in the water.
Add glycerin if desired.
Shake well before each use.
Spray on exposed skin and clothing, avoiding the eyes and mouth.
Notes:
Reapplication: Natural repellents may need to be reapplied every 2-3 hours for maximum effectiveness.
Patch Test: Perform a patch test to ensure there is no allergic reaction to the essential oils.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark place to preserve the potency of the essential oils.
