Going to the gym and shaving your head with a razor every other day is more time consuming than just taking a pill of finasteride and / or applying minoxidil for 30 secs in the morning and at night.

This is literally ridiculous. I'm not buff - 300-lb fat neckbeard - but I look WAY better bald than with some over-the-hill Hulk Hogan hair. In fact, since I grew the nuts to shave it off, I realize I like my bald-goatee look better than any of my previous hairstyles! This dude's just trying to sell his expensive hair treatment; pay no attention and just do as you will.

I have been shaving my head and beard to a zero since my 20's but was really lucky that my head and face shape works for it. It either works or it doesn't for your head and face shape. No matter what though go all in on something and don't just go bald while trying to keep your hair.

What the "just shave it" commentators don't realize is that, even if you have a full head of hair and you decided to shave your head it might not look good on you just like the same kind of hair cut doesn't suit every guy and that because of face shapes i.e oval, Round, Oblong/ Rectangular, Square, Heart/Inverted Triangle, Pear/Triangle, and Diamond. And I bet every bald dude out there rocking the shaving head movement would line up in fist in line if science manage to find a permanent cure for Male Pattern Baldness!!

I think we should take the buff body and beard requirements out of the equation and simply ask are you better off shaving your head or are you better off going down the hair restoration road? First of all there are guys who truly don't care about having hair and like the shaved hair look. It's not a compromise -- this is what they want. Let's take them out of the equation too. So we are left with people who want to have hair -- now for these people the question I ask is are you willing to take the daily medication and do you have the resources to restore your hair to a degree where you don't simply go from a look of bald to balding that may look worse if you get a half ass restoration? If the answer is NO you can't fully commit to the process then I think you should shave your head if possible because having a weak hair transplant or trying to style thinning hair are losing battles and you are going to look like a fool in most cases and in this case less is more. Think about Bruce Willis as he lost his hair. He tried a few goofy hair styles that partially covered his head and finally just went with shaving his head and this created a consistent look for him that works. BUT -- If you do have the will to take medicine and the resources (money, time, donor hair) then I think you should not be pressured into shaving your head and it makes sense to restore your hair after you've done the proper research and know what you are getting into. Some guilt this camp of people who want hair and say, "Just shave your head." "What a waste of time, get over it." I totally disagree with that and it doesn't matter if the ones saying it are bald and they shaved their head, to each their own. If you deny having hair vs not doesn't change your appearance (often for the better) you are not being honest. It can open many doors and simply make you feel better. If you agree wearing a hat can change ones appearance than it's logical having hair can too.

I shaved my head at 23 as the balding was super obvious and bad. I then grew out my beard and typically stick to a goatee style. I didn’t really have a choice though, as I was already severely thinning at 19 :(

How many hair transplants does one need? Is 1 hair transplant not enough? Are most hair transplants successful? It's hard to bite the bullet. I'm in the US and all the Turkish clinics seem to be rated very well. Not sure who to trust.

For me, I am 30 and have a full head but am bald by choice. In my 20s i maintained a styled hair not because thats what i wanted but to attract women Now that i have a girl i want to marry, i dont need to attract other women sexually. I told my fiance that i am still going to keep up with fitness, skin care, and take care of myself in general but i just dont want to maintain the hair and that i actually prefer my look with bald head myself. I have been shaving my head for the past couple of years, and it would not bother me at all if i became bald by losing hair.

You listed regular shaving as part of beard maintenance...that's not how beards work. You get it trimmed, but that's something that can be done at the barber when you get your hair cut. I hope those fit pics weren't the extent of your beardening.

I don’t think shaving your head is giving up, for those who can’t afford those expensive hair transplants, it’s just a decision to liberate themselves from all the stress and the pain. Giving up is not the right term and you shouldn’t make it sound like guys who shave their heads are quitters. It actually takes giant balls to do so and you should embrace it. To me this whole video doesn’t make sense.

It is always funny that when people who had HT compare it with their bald photos and the bald photos are just lower quality and there are much more differences other than hair. Yeah baldness affects the looks but end of the day even with treatments you will lose a lot of hair. Steve had 5 HT and that means at least for 2 years he was on this post transplant phase in his life. Most people already lose after 30, and have a family and a stable life before 40. So if you really wanna date and go full in till your 60s it is up to you

My god hair transplants are so cheap now and they totally work. I think losing your hair is like a bad break up with a girl you really love. You know at some point you can't have her...so you just dump her (shave your head). Then you never look back...but guess what you CAN get her back...all of her. Hair transplants are like $3900.00 now. ..and they are forever ... unless you like shaving your damn head every day for the rest of your life !.
