This is a ck3 game of thrones guide for how and why you should restore House Reyne in the game of thrones crusader kings iii mod. I will cover the history of the house, and why they are so intersting an flavorful to play. As well as show you exactly what is required to do so, as its a little tricky to figure out. The Reynes survie on in house Vikary which owns lands to the south of the ruins of Castamere.
The ck3 agot mod allows you to play our asoiaf in an incredibly deep and engaging manner. The geography, lore, and characters are incredibly well made and worth playing.

You can also steal back valyrian steel sword that is rumored to belong once to the Rayne family from one of the families on iron iles

Did this last night. Started as house Vikary, took back the province of Castamere, then the lordship, and revived house Reyne. Then I put my family on the Westerlands through matrilineal marriage, and ended up killing all Lannisters, Plumm, Banefort, Stackspear, Westerling and Marbrand. It was fun and bloody

I started this playthrough as a Reyne relative and kind of got lucky, the Mad King infamously murdered Tywin early in the rebellion, Tyrion's inheritance of the westerlands made other vassals wage war on him with his uncle Damon as a claimant. I took advantage in the bloodbath of Lannisters killing each other and claimed the lordship and duchy of Castamere from Tyrion, now I'm rebuilding the ruins. It's been a LOT of fun, you just need some strong alliances in the early wars

It took me multiple generations to get the lordship of castamere since all my first heirs died by disease and drowning, like bruh i even had to fight the fricking Iron Throne at one point to get the lands i needed. It was a huge struggle but a fun one at that. Luck was deffinetly not at my side but that made it more interesting. I fought countless of wars as House Vikary but it was all worth it, now being the strongest Duchy in the Westerlands, owning 2 lordships, I am finally ready to bring my war to the Lannisters. May House Reyne reign supreme!

Have they made the expansion for Aegon's conquest yet? I like playing as House Hoare...and taking Aegon's sisters as salt wives because his ai is a friggin joke in CK2, lol.

Can also try take their valaryian sword back, it's in the possession of one of the lords of the Iron isles, I cant recall for sure but I think its house Drum.

There is a mine in the holding of Pendric Hill, which is part of the Duchy of Castamere.

assuming this is during the clash of kings or roberts rebellion start date by that point castamere's gold mine had run dry so in a way it makes sense for them not to have one

You shouldn't. Castamere is bugged. If you claim the Lordship of Castamere, its ruin character gets replaced by regular character. Which makes it pretty much impossible to rebuild it. I'd honestly wait for the mod to update and then pick up the House Reyne playthrough. What also video doesn't mention is the fact that you can via 'House customizer' trait actually make a custom character from Reyne dynasty that is actually tied to the main branch.

I already did a Reyne campaign, and had 0 problems with the ruin interactions, rebuild it a few times until it transformed into a normal holding with more slots tahn usual. The only ruin that cant be fixed is summerhall.

There has been reports of it bugging which is why I recommend in the video you grab a save. It is completely doable though.

for me the ruin also got replaced by a character but you dont need to rebuild the ruins in order to claim the lordship of Castamere so i dont really see any problems

Someone to use the mechanic of bringing back instinct house and play at the Casterly by replacing one of the two non-Canon houses on Westerlands reclaiming Casterman to build a base and then go in after Castle rock should make for some entertainment
