I think players need to remember that the enemy team are…humans too. Fully capable of out-smarting and out-performing your best plays. I used to have that “my team isn’t doing enough” mindset until it really set in my head that sometimes the enemy team just made better plays we couldn’t react to. There are still times where my teammates are goofy, but when I focus more on what the enemy team is doing better than us and working on exploiting it-that’s when I saw a genuine climb. Idk.

One of the biggest issues I noticed on this gameplay, which is very common among lower ranked players, is how they view the enemy team as simple targets and not opponents. When they turn the corner by themselves and see 4 people, all they can see is 4 targets out in the open ready to be killed. In the mean time all the other team is seeing is a single target that will be shot by 4 people simultaneously and go poof instantly

Seems like a common theme with the lower ranks to say you’re hardstuck because of your teammates. 😂

Im 2 minutes in the guys complaining about teammates and has a mercy pocket. That tells me all i need to know about the rest of the match.

It's funny that people expect to be rez'd by Mercy no matter what and then they'll be mad about it for like the rest of the game. I'm like a simp for Mercy, I'm just grateful when she interacts with me. I'll die in a bad spot and be like "there's no way she's rezzing that-OMG she's doing it! She's crazy! Idk how she didn't die! I love you!" Now that I think about it, 90% of the time I'm the one the stays back around a corner or something after Mercy dies so she can GA to me and get back faster, or I get dangerously close to a fight with just her left to help her get away and get back to the team. Mercys need more love.

1. Suboptimal positioning, often neglects their effective range and high grounds 2. Tunnel visioning on premade actions (like "MUST SHOOT DYNAMITE AT ALL COST" even when its clearly not gonna hit anyone) 3. Making more bad decisions than good ones (target priority, fighting in the open all the time for no reason, etc) 4. Even when good decisions are made, they are made very slowly or with hesitation (doesn't seem to know what a good decision is, and most of the time stumbles into it by accident) 5. Panics with rushed aim despite fundamentally decent mouse mechanics for their rank 6. Very panic reaction based use of coach gun, rarely uses it to get a high ground or pre-emptively distance themselves from the enemy. Rein has to come into their face before they coach away (and often do a poor job of it as a result) All in all, lots of potential to climb out of Silver. Problem is, having potential is not the same as actualizing potential and being good. The hard work has to be put in, so the skill from that potential becomes consistent and reliable. I would suggest just focus on one of the abovementioned aspects at a time, as you improve one by one, you will climb easily. My advice would be focus first on playing your effective range and use high grounds/map to your advantage as often as possible. Every single time you die to something up close, ask yourself why you were close enough to be reached, or why you weren't on a high ground to deny the enemy advance entirely.

Man, I remember the 'feels like it's not my fault' phase like it was yesterday. Like looking back on your embarrassing high school years or something. And I just love seeing 'It's not my fault' and then within a minute we see things they could seriously improve on. I just love that reminder. And to be clear: I still have a lot to improve on. But I don't blame my team mates anymore when we lose.

The amount of times they would just spam zoomed out shots on ashe instead of scoping in at medium range was killing me. Same with the times where they had low ammo for large amounts of time without being in a fight but never reloaded until they got to 0 bullets

The only way to climb, is to accept that you make just as many mistakes, if not more, than your teammates. The only way to improve is to acknowledge that, so you know what could have been done differently every fight. Recently climbed to Diamond 1 on Sombra (from Plat 5) by using every death as a learning experience. Watching Fitzy and Questron vods also helps 😂

I think a really useful tip is to also look out for your team. If Mercy is vunruable because she's going for a play who is a threath to her? If the tank is tanking who is a threath to them? Interupting the Sombra that is in the process of hacking your tank is much more important than doing 5% of the enemy tank's health. Also if you get a tank kill, but they have a live Mercy she is going to want to get that res because it's such a high vlaue character. So you should attack in such a way that you have control over the location where you killed them.

I think once this submitter steps off their ego and starts actively PLAYING the game - play to have impact, not autopiloting like it's a nighttime silly goofy qp, that's when they'll be ready to improve. you won't get better let alone climb if you default to blaming your teammates for your losses [+they must've watched this before submitting so the fact they stuck w/those 'opinions' says a lot]. that only holds ppl back bcs no matter how good someone is, there's *always* smth to work on if anything the doom and the supports were the ones keeping the ball rolling tips; get rid of the jumping habit, stop standing out in the goddamn open, learn better positioning, capitalize/punish enemy mistakes [ex. enemy mercy rezzing out in the open/right in front of you], stop shooting at mach 10 speed and actively think about where you aim, EKCE6 - 'havana strafe practice' neat aim/ability practice tool, if you're struggling with aim still then maybe readjust your sens, improve target priority [esp with certain abilities ex: cass nade], don't shoot zarya bubbles unless she's low to burst her down if possible, exercise better awareness + less tunnel vision, more confidence and most importantly b r e a t h e

I just don't understand why people need to be toxic, overwatch is a team game and yes sometimes there things team mates need to work. on things but if you are losing 5 games (not say they did just an example) in a row there something you need to work on.

One thing that should always keep in mind when playing: don't die. If you were dead, you cannot do dmg, you cannot kill anyone, you cannot push payload, you cannot do anything. As long as you are alive, you can at least stop or push the payload which is the ultimate goal of the match. If getting elim and dmg and then die is the way to win, then back in the day, 6 dps should win any game.

Aaah, this is the sort of player that I LOVE playing against, because they're a good enough shot to punish any stupid mistakes I may make, but also their positioning is so bad I can just roll them 80% of the time XD It feels great to beat people with reasonable mechanics and bad game sense. It's a lot worse when they have great game sense and bad mechanics and they roll me XD

I never blame my team. I see it as a team effort, so if they fail, I fail. Plus, most things I see people do wrong, I have done a million times. UUFF.... Jumping comment was interesting. I jump all the time as I was taught to in games like this. This was an excellent point, and I will adjust what I do :D

So the tank thing is obviously very well-covered all ready and I just wanted to say: I saw your Mercy get pretty well every reasonable rez that was worth getting. She wasn't rezing on cooldown, she wasn't taking risky rez's, and she wasn't taking worthless rez's (bringing someone back up when they were going to respawn right there or on lost fights). She was rez'ing right; and if you think she wasn't, that's because you expect your Mercy to behave like they're in silver and when they play smarter than that you think something's wrong. Which suggests that actually you have an expectation and mindset issue, which jives with some of the behaviours and gamesense in the vod. The plus side is you're a good hitscan player; if you can work on these issues and your positioning a bit I do think probably you'll get out of silver.

Yeah dude needs better positioning and target priority. He was standing main and trying to duel enemy tank far too often. He also made no effort to stop enemy Mercy from getting at least 2 extremely obvious (and very Silver) reses on the enemy tank basically in his face. There are some people in comments here saying his aim is bad, and sure it's not amazing aim, but that isn't his issue. Better positioning will help his aim and survival. Get more kills on squishies, die less. It just feels like this guy is auto-piloting and not trying to actually make an impact. I like these reviews where Emongg has to give the submitter a bit of an ego check.

Low rank dmgers have no aim, they just drill the tank the whole game expect a miracle to happen and carry them. So a tank is supposed to keep the tank busy so they can shoot them instead of getting wiped by them (despite them only shooting the tanks anyway), to get enemy dmgers and idet they think about healers at all

Sliver DPS playing like a bot and the blaming the team? How unusual.

He got resurrected 3 times, plus one failed attempt, not to mention all the other resurrections his mercy did on other teammates. Doomfist is somewhat suicidal going in 5v1 at times, but to say he is afraid? The doomfist almost has too much courage at times. He says he feels like he is doing most dmg and kills, but I dont think he got even close the kills of his Pharah teammate, nor of Doomfist. He is out in the open facetanking most incoming dmg. Never once flanked the enemy team. He keeps shooting the tank! Unless the Mercy or Soldier is in his face, he is shooting the tank. Are you sure we are talking about the same game?

The only res I care about getting or not getting is the panic res where you come back to life solo in the middle of a full team and you die again immediately making your respawn timer start over instead of coming back with team and partially staggering the team. On a sniper, if I have half the damage of my co-damage, but twice the kills? Is it still my fault? I ask because I ran into this situation with both a Soldier76 and a Junkrat. Which makes sense as they both just pour out the damage. I did swap off, but that was to specifically counter someone like Tracer, Sombra, or Genji so my Supports could live. EDIT: I am a silver like this guy. I deserve Silver. His aim is no better than mine.

And as a support main player who gets verbally abused by dumb teammates who are overextending and/or are just in bad positioning overall, I always say, “I can’t heal stupid”. 🤷‍♀️

I don't think anyone who submits these actually watches their own gameplay back. I know I've been playing games and it can feel like you're the only one doing anything, but that's because I've not got the awareness yet of where my team is. So that's legit my issue. If I were to rewatch I'd probably see I'm playing stupid and they're trying to recoup 😂

Reasons to blame your team. Everyone is split up taking on a unified team alone. Healer is playing DPS. Sticking with a comp that's getting its butt kicked. And my personal favorite, nobody killing Mercy.

I just recently got out of silver after a year long battle 😭. This guy could not play gold games imo. My first game back in gold after the recent changes I could see the skill diff between gold and silver players ( as a support main the games actually became hard for me and enemy team started noticing I was there lol) , even in just gold 4 and 5 the game sense is much better. He just needs more practice and help from our fav Emongg

4:26 I think the complaint about the Doom likely has something to do with the 15+ seconds of AFK after punching the Bastion off the map where if they'd moved up on the Soldier, their team possibly could have taken the corner before the Rein got back.

Man, the missed shots on the soldier really pissed me off after the fact of them blaming the tank, and u being mercy pocked cant kill a lone soldier; this dude should getter aim before getting in any other rank as a tank stuck in gold and seeing my dps go 1-9 now I know why.

This dude's positioning and cooldown use is what has him hard stuck silver. When playing Ashe I never once saw him take a high ground off angle to help pressure the enemy. As Cass he was either too far away to be effective or entirely up the enemy backside. Furthermore, he kept using Cass roll to engage/reposition aggressively. Cass's roll GREATLY reduces incoming damage and from my experience it's almost always best to use his roll as a defensive maneuver. And yeah Emongg nailed it with the Soldier 76. I'd have in immediately dashed to contest the high ground in the back. Tell Mercy to GA to you so you could easily take the 1v1 against their Soldier or at least muscle him into retreat.
