Clannad was one of those animes that you can rewatch a decade later and still cry at the ending, also lets not forget the dango daikazoku

Part 1 is all about you connecting and building a bond between you and the characters So part 2 devastates you.

No objection about that. It’s truly one of the greatest slice of life anime.

The fact that simply thinking about Clannad draw tears from my eyes is testament to how powerful the emotions this anime make you feel are.

This show gave me a whole new perspective and really made me appreciate my family so much more. 10/10 my favorite anime of all time

Clannad made me realize how unprepared I was for the real world. It made me realize I have no idea what I want to do with my life, and sent me down a spiral of depression, which ended up with me discovering my passion, and changing the way I view life.

I finished it recently, this was an anime which genuinely made me cry. 1st season was the perfect plot build-up, While the 2nd season was the perfect transition and adaptation from fun joyous childhood to adulthood and how hard it hits Thanks for making this video. Clannad is an underrated jem which many people scroll past but you explained the story perfectly

I really really loved After Story. It was the first anime to make me cry and it wasn’t even at the part I was expecting. It portrays loss and sadness so well that I felt immersed in Tomoya’s life. It’s definitely one of the best slice of life anime out there!

Hey look, its the Anime that changed my life

Ah, Clannad: After Story the first show that made me cry for 2 weeks when I was still a middle-schooler. Because of Clannad, I can see how my parents gave up their dream and time just to raise me. They are not perfect, and sometimes they are harsh, and anger could take over us over an argument, but in the end, the most important thing is "try to forgive them" and move on.

It's my favourite. I recommend you Relife. It's my second favourite

I watched this anime a while ago. It was so heartbreaking after first time watching it, so i thought my whole life for many weeks actually. I recently watched it my third time with my girlfriend i am together with already 2 years and it was even sadder because she was sick for many many months and got a diagnosis of cancer. I pray and hope she will beat this cancer and stay together with me our whole life. btw: we are under 20, 19 and 18 to be exact..

I got recommended Clannad by my English teacher, I was able to watch all of it in 2 weeks (46 episodes, 1 movie, and 2 specials), it was amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves slice of life, romance, and storytelling. It made me cry lots of times by how touching it was (ive never cried to an anime before but this one... was SO worth it)

I first got introduced to Clannad back in 2015, only because it was a part of two of WatchMojo's top 10 videos of brutal moments/ romance anime of all time at that point. As soon as I saw this, I was like, "I need to watch this." Did my research, found out it was also a slice of life anime. I already knew Nagisa was going to die beforehand. It hurt then, but it hurt more once I started to fully understand that from what WatchMojo said as well as what the reviews said that this high school anime continued after the high school part. It's very relatable whether or not you've gone through hardship like this, I will say that after you watch it, if you've not realized yet how much family is important to you in life. This will help you understand why it's important to keep up with your family. I was very immature in my early 20s, I bottled up emotions and held up each traumatic event, whether from personal situations or past funerals, because I wanted to look strong. After watching this, I broke, let it all out. I never grieved, and it made me do it in front of the TV and in the shower. Japan has a big issue with the leftover fallout from the atomic bombs from 1945, hence why it makes sense how the story played out. It's what I researched before watching the anime. To anyone still reading this post. Please keep up with your family. It's not a matter of if it's a matter of when someone passes on. Never count on your friends from high school. In the end, it's because everyone has their own goals after graduating, and that means you're going to have to part ways to pursue them. Whether good or bad. You find out over time who your friends really are. By 30, everyone has their families, and that means you have to set time aside in advance to hang out because now your kids are the ones living the carefree life you once had. Some of your friends will never marry, and that's a subject for another time, but I can at least say that they will be free after work at the bar or restaurant, but that's it. Anyone you know under 30 will be somewhat free, but they will still be on the path to complete their own goals in order to be at the level of stability you're at present in your life after college, marriage, kids, buying a house, etc. Family will always be there, they will never leave, and they will always have time to listen to you. Check on them!

I think Clannad is one of the best anime out there. The problem is, that the 1st season can get really boring, which is why many people quit watching. A lot of it is kind of boring in my opinion too, but it is a good build up for the 2nd season. just got a bit bored with fuuko and kotomi 😐

Something I absolutely love about clannad is that you can watch it in 2 different ways Either you watch a fun slice of life that gets sad over time Or you watch the best life lesson you have ever seen and you learn to appreciate your life more and accept the changes

FYI don't do what I did: I found out about this series's existence during a top 10 anime list and I was under the assumption that Clannad After Story was the only one in the series. I assumed the titles was after story because a lot of it takes place after these characters graduated high school. So imagine my shocked face when a major turning point in the story happened and we get shown a flashback of scenes from earlier in the anime and scenes that (at the time) I had not seen. 😂 but regardless it is a really good series I highly recommend it and if anyone is confused by the ending of clannad after story I will gladly break it down for you

The second part shredded my heart into pieces.. 😭 Literally everyone should watch this masterpiece

I appreciate the second season, yes, but saying that it's the *realy* reason people love Clannad is a generalization. I really loved all the comic parts of season 1, and the emotional moments with Fuuko hit as well... Season 1 was some of the best the genre had to offer, and season 2 became something special in itself

I watched Violet Evergarden 5 years ago and I thought that nothing ever will make me cry as hard as "The loved ones will always watch over you" did. This summer, when watching Clannad, I realised just how wrong I was.

I first watched this anime years ago but back then I didn't have any brains to understand the beauty of this anime. I rewatched it last year and cried a lot and made it to my top3 favorite anime

What I love about After Story is that it shows so beautifully that you can do everything right and things still go horribly heartbreakingly wrong, but also how when things go wrong and you want to give up, doing the right thing still might be incredibly hard but also bring you on the right (less painful maybe) path again and bring new meaning where other meaning was lost. Don't know if I was able to properly express what I mean but there you go ^^'

This is truly the best anime ever, I watched Clannad maybe 4-5 years ago and my world was forever changed. I will never forget it and I’ll always recommend it, although their story is sad….I hope to find a love like Tomoya and Nagisa had. :’)

Yeah. Clannad part 1 was really enjoyable as a funny kind of real life high school drama, to Clannad AS which shows the realistic ways of how quickly things can go wrong. The fact that your Friends lose contact to you, you lose people dear to you and it is shown in a really touching way that just breaks you deeply. Especially when you watched it religiously for 3 Days and paid attention to everything.

I loved this show so much it was the first anime my brother had showed me before he passed. It was his favorite and now I listen to the soundtrack all the time. I know my brother is shining in the sky ❤

both clannad AND after story are the adaptation of the VN. Clannad is basically a summary of the common routes and AS the true ending from the VN. like any adaptation it's better to read the VN but clannad (anime) is still a pretty good adaptation if you realy don't care for VN's

It's a great anime. The first part was also good but tbh 'Clanned' was stretched a little more. Many people would get bored in the stretch part. But 'Clanned after story ' is truly amazing. Where it shows about real life experience. It has tragedy, sadness, realisation and happy ending. At the end it's a great anime. Must watch

The word “Clannad” translates to “family.” It makes me so sad to see most people rating this anime so low all the time because it’s “depressing,” but they clearly don’t have an open mind. It’s so much more than “sad,” it’s a beautifully emotional journey that changed my perspective on life, family, and friends after I watched it at such a young age during my darker moments in life. I’m thankful for this show’s existence, it was my first anime ever, and one of the only shows I will rewatch over and over again and never grow tired of it. It’s influenced my music taste as well, as the soundtrack inspired me to learn piano more, and now I’m a self taught pianist! It also inspired me to draw, now 11 years later I’m finally at the level I want to be at!! I know I’m rambling on about some goofy show but for real, it’s just that important to me lol. Needless to say, Clannad is a gift. Please give this anime the love it deserves and give it a watch. I hope you’ll find it as special as it is to me. 💙
