Pivot Point 💪🏼
Our pivot point is so huge when hitting
And you can change the lingo however you’d like
But the importance of our axis, our center of rotation, our pivot point, is so incredibly important
I see so many young hitters that have zero chance of hitting out in front or having a clean turn just due to the fact that their pivot point is not in the right spot
And where I see it most when hitters struggle is on there front shoulder
They essentially rotate around their front shoulder and just cave the back shoulder into the plate or drive their hands/shoulder into the plate
This not only ruins our chances of completing our rotation smoothly
But also now presents our barrel steep and over the the top of the ball
Our pivot point should be more toward the back of our body around that back shoulder where the barrel will be allowed to freely release from the body on a slightly uphill path
You need to understand your rotation and why you are unable to stay on plane and rotate cleanly
I would venture to say it is an improper pivot point and some kind of imbalance between our pull/push muscles throughout the swing
