4:18 definitely. I'm a very emotionally driven person in an argument, which can get me into messes easily, and I certainly have a hard time apologizing sometimes. Under my mother's guise of "you should only apologize if you're not going to do it again," I feel guilty apologizing because I know with how I am, I may accidentally do it again. It's a work in progress for me, but I'm trying to get past that mentality so I don't feel like a disgusting piece of immoral shit just for trying to own up for my actions. I've gotten better about my outbursts as well for the most part (mainly at school & work)

Honestly I think it's a mixed bag, and alot of apologies aren't actually that terrible, rather that people in this age have been conditioned to view apologies rather pessimistically, thanks to a few unfortunately very loud and large creators. There's also an issue wherein people believe that if an apology wasn't accepted, then that apology wasn't good enough, when realistically that's not the case, as it is rather unfair to demand more than an initial apology (as long as the apology is a valid, actual apology that is self aware of faults and indicative of improvement) So yeah I basically agree....just remember people, an apology requires a few things to actually be an apology. - Remorse for actions (and those actions must be stated so that we know, you know and understand what the problem actually is) - A plan of action for change - And finally an absence of excuses (This can be seen as the least fair condition because the line between excuse and reasoning is so very blurred especially for those who have been wronged but ultimately ya just gotta suck it up and be the bigger person, and let it go)

Many apology videos, or apologies in general, I’ve seen over my time on the internet have been really gross people trying to gain back an audience, and not getting help to not continue what they have done. (Such as LenTotally) I’m really glad someone is finally bringing awareness to this.

This is why I never apologize for anything anymore. I’m either told sorry isn’t good enough or my apology is picked apart and called insincere. What’s even the point of apologizing anymore if nobody ever accepts it? There’s nothing at all to gain from it. Better to just demand that they drop it when it’s brought up.

yeah, i went through that and saw it go down with other people. it's especially bad when you say sorry and ACTUALLY mean it. yet here they are, trying find one small little mistake in that apology to slap it back to you and say it's "not sincere" this is why i get mad when they go "aren't you gonna apologize?" because "would you accept it if i did? or would you just waste my breath and just say it's not enough?" standards, sometimes we love them, and sometimes we hate it

Some apologies are NOT meant for *everyone* example if a creative is saying harmful things about a certain group or say something that have no business to say and can be said for that group. People tend to accept the apology but, not realizing the apology is not really made for...them. That's why believe some people don't really accept the apology or think it's hollow.(Not to mention the war in the comments on the apology video). just speaking my mind :).

In all honesty I have to agree with this Apologizing online is very different than how it is irl. The best thing you can do for yourself is exit a situation until you feel like you're in a better headspace than you originally were for some that have done something what could be deemed as a misunderstanding blown way out of proportion it works, but like I said it works for some. And people who demand an apology and expect it to be garbage need to realize that you're not being a part of the solution you are being part of the problem. Of course everyone is allowed to accept or not accept someone's apology but the person who apologized needs to learn not to dwell too much on it, it's unhealthy what's best is to move on and try to better yourself. That's what I want to say for the most part. This was a very well done video good job 👍.

This is what I hate about Twitter. I remember seeing tweets about one content creator about whining about them not making an apology soon enough, EVEN THIUGH IT WAS LITERALLY ON THE SAME DAY THEY WERE GETTING CANCELED, funnier how the said CC literally apologized the day after the tweet was made. I also hate CC neg a lot, it’s literally filled with toxicity, if you don’t have any *constructive* criticism, don’t say it. Edit: now thinking about it, I think said cc actually apologized within 20 hrs, not a full 24 hrs.

My issue with apologies is that sometimes even after you admit your wrongs, people are still going to go off and call you out as if you didnt just admit what they wanted you to. It makes me wonder if an apology is really worth making, ive made countless of them until I realized "yeah, this audience doesnt deserve an apology, I should only apologize to those whom ive hurt" which I think is something people really need to look out on more. Just my take because when an audience calls you out for something awful you did, they never tend to understand just how complex the situation really is, and thus paint someone as criminal, which happened to me. But regardless, this is just my view about making apologies, you must always admit your wrongs of course but depending on the situation, people may not accept it, so its important to stay truth to your words and make progress to yourself.

I haven’t finished the video but there’s something else I want to mention. Whenever a KZfaqr posts an apology to a certain person or group of people, I’ve noticed that people (who the apology wasn’t meant for in the first place) end up forgiving the person even though it’s not their responsibility or job to forgive them.

I see you saw the update re Kai. I'm just glad that he is hopefully being dealt with. What he did to Omnia was VILE, and it actually confirmed my suspicion, why Omnia was missing. All I can hope is that they are safe now. I can see your point regarding apology videos. I personally am of the opinion that if you know you've done wrong, then apologise. I've found that those people that are genuine say sorry once and then they work on their videos, taking their criticism on board and making improvements. A recent example was a young YTer using the word "Schizo" to describe a crazy moment. Once they saw remarks saying that that was not a good term to use (it gives Schizophrenic people a bad name), the YTer apologised, and said they will research the condition to help them understand what these people can actually go through. You then get those folks such as LenTotally and Cosmodore. Those that say "sorry", but still try and blame anybody and anything but themselves for the problem. By the way, nice job on your sprites and the animation!

You said your brain is empty in the description but this was a very well made video. You did fantastic, bringing up great points and using research as well. I understand you’re talking about a certain group of apology videos, but you really did say it best at the beginning of this video. The apology videos that get the most attention tend to be the ones that have tons of lies and by people who have no interest in anything but protecting their reputation. Camila Cuevas’s apology statements made me reek in vile disgust at how awful they were for example. I feel so bad for Hopeless Peaches, even after her name’s been basically cleared at this point, it was just so much garbage a good person like her didn’t deserve. Oh, sorry, getting a bit sentimental here. I’m totally behind you 300% about gutting the current gut reaction people have to apology videos. Your message was a beautiful one and I hope to see people come to be more open minded and give respect to the people that deserve it in the future.

It's true that we think people and creator we admire are kind of flawless, that they are people with great morals and all. Forgetting they are just humans too. And it's also true that talking about apologies videos, people tends to think about the bad ones and now that you said it I never watched a good apology video. Plus as creator it's easy to lost ourselves by giving too much importance about what stranger think of us. Some creators put on themselves a lot of pressure which give them anxiety and push them into hypersensibility Hope this video will reach them and show them that they just have to take a step back, take a breath and calmly look at the situation to find the right way to get over it

This is so absurd and ignorant to assume that people just don’t apologize properly because they are being prideful and enjoy the bad things they’ve done when really none of us ask ourselves if our criticism actually makes people better because clearly psychology makes it clear that adding wood to the fire, insults, + harassment regardless if a person “deserves” it or not will of course not create a good ending. And I know that someone will say “not everything’s all sunshine and rainbows” but WHO TF exactly said that has to be the case? We aren’t God, our **G O D** is the same god that tells others to bless those who curses us so we’re no better than the person who did us wrong to begin with and if you have a problem with that I said then it’s not my problem either.
@questionking3553

Criticism sometimes I wonder where it stands at times people could take advantage of you with little nit picks and then there are the people that do all their research on people and break them emotionally and force them to reveal the truth about themselves and then the mask has to come off but when someone gets exposed doesn’t feel kinda sad because most of the time you know their not gonna get back up and just give in to hate that’s what the internet does too you everyone likes to be curious about people identity’s and then eventually becoming the hero without realizing it just because they encountered drama and speaking their prospective on it ! And then forces the other person in the corner to give up and apologize which just starts more tension in the meantime !!!

Not all of them are bad. Like Shannon for example. Instead of apologizing to your community on the spot, think about what you did, and all of what you did, and fix it first. Then, apologize to your audience *last* (unless you only affected the audience). You should always apologize to who you hurt directly first, then to people who knew you. Also, rushing an apology just causes to make the apology less genuine and more "please stop harassing me" vibes, which the community can also accuse you of.

@@StreamlineWorkshop Actually, I do believe that. I used to struggle with lip syncing a lot at first, but once you get the basics of it down, it's just a matter of getting the timing right. It's tedious at times but shouldn't turn into a full day project. My last tiny bit of syncing took me only an hour.😂 When I first started learning though... Oof. And sometimes you kinda wonder if it's worth sinking an added hour of time into something that's already decently expressive enough without it and only gonna be on screen for like... 4 seconds 😂... But when you do it, it *always* is. 🥰

If only apology videos are just “hey there’s this thing I made, said, or did and I’m sorry that to all of those who were affected by it. I was not aware that this can be seen as harmful and it was wrong of me to do that. I’m sorry and I would like to do better.” I despise apologies that are like “I’m sorry IF (not THAT) I offended you” with a burning passion. Like, why else would someone react to your statement in a negative way?? It’s tricky to know someone is genuinely sorry sometimes because people act differently in addressing the situation, but there ARE some that just misses the mark on what to address and reflecting. It’s okay to explain why you did it, but clarify that it doesn’t excuse what you did. You don’t have to forgive someone and some apologies aren’t designed for everyone. For example, an apology related to using blackface or racial slurs. The apology is for black people who were affected by it, not for the heaps of non-black people that drown out their voices with their own forgiveness doing the work for them, even when the apology wasn’t for them. The part about the paranoia of being a content creator, YES, YES, THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS BECAUSE THIS BOTHERED ME FOR YEARS.

APOLOGISE TO ERIN

In the last part of your video you say that people should stop being so judgmental when the individual decides to take a break from the internet in order to gain a New perspective of the situation and things like that... However that's like exactly what you did in the Erin clover situation you "criticized" Erin for taking a break from the internet in a judgmental way you took down your video however you still have not apologize so you're not even following the steps that you made in this video but I'm going to try and give you the benefit of the doubt and wait because maybe you will make an apology either way your actions have literally aided in destroying her career and she didn't do anything wrong you guys just don't have the same views on this taboo subject but you still spread your opinion around like their facts which isn't fair

Right, exactly, especially since that Lexi bitch admitted to making up the real person allegations. Stream should learn the definition of an alternate universe and fandom media and how it’s not real, before weaponizing their fan base. But wait, that would require critical thinking.

Huh ?? What happened
@TamarahFord2
@TamarahFord2 2 жыл бұрын
@@cr-bl1oj It’s really a lot, But here goes. There’s the artist named Erin Clover who aged up the MHA characters and idiots got mad at her for doing do. Streamline made 3 videos on her. 1st being mad at her, 2nd clearing up things And apologizing to Erin, And 3rd Just Taking Back What She Said And slandering Her And falsely accusing her of Gr00ming. And to this day she still hasn’t apologized. She hasn’t deleted her videos on Erin. She needs to take accountability for what she’s done. She needs to apologize to Erin, Clear up things for cleary young audience, And delete all of her videos on Erin. Now I don’t really support canceling already platforming people, but until she does at least one of those she really shouldn’t be supported like this.
@izusibir9573

You are exaggerating, this person didn't ruin Erin life, this person just tell his opinion about her, was Twitter and the fandom of MHA, who canceled Erin and called her a g00mer (but that was because she made NSFW of the characters of Camp Camp who are basically childs of 5 years). I think this person used Twitter to find out about the situation. Erin Clover is not innocent at all too, she is a grown ass adult of 30 who exposed multiple minors to NSFW for months in her Twitter. And guess what, she didn't even care. She only privatized her Twitter when people called her about exposing minors to p0rn, but it was too late, the damage was already done. Force an apology is not the solution, and capitalizing every word in a sentence is a misspelling ;).

I don't want to hear you talk about apologizing until you own up to what you did. You owe Erin an apology for what you did. You have no right to say anything about this topic. That's all I have to say about this.
