He was a crappyking.... He alienated several of his children which broke down the Targaryen line. Didn't listen to his wife on several occasions ( she would've made a better ruler tbh) He basically laid the foundation for the dance by aligning more with westerosi religion & further preventing women from inheriting the throne .

@finderoftruthknowerofsecre3429 No, not true. This whole BS regarding negative Jaehaerys commentary is getting nuts. Alienate most of his kids? Bro, what? 😅 Jaehaerys laid the foundation to AVOID a situation like the Dance. Viserys was the dumbass who let it happen. Guess what happened every time after The Dance that Succession Crisises happened? Westeros called a Great Council. Alyssane would not have made a better ruler, Jaehaerys was 99.9%, solid in his reign. This guy is often regarded as THE best High King Westeros has ever had, yet that ain't enough for you guys. He's in Westeros, so him abiding by Westerosi religion and customs is a bad thing? 😅 a King following the ways of his people more often than not is now terrible? Give me a break

@@thalmoragent9344 I I wasn't expecting a soapbox response in summation. There's a good chance there would nothave been a dance had Saera not been exiled, Viscera not died , or daella , or even if Raenys took the throne . Viserys was bad but it was jahaerys that made that outcome possible. No king viserys = no greens & Rhaenyra mightve ended up being queen regent.

@@finderoftruthknowerofsecre3429 No. Thal's right, most, if not all the lords of the seven kingdoms favor the male heirs over the females. A rebellion would soon occur or even a assassination might happen if Rhaenys was crowned queen. Might makes right back in the day, dragons don't matter if the other male claimants has one too. I don't know where you get your information from about Jaehaerys, I'm assuming fanfictions or from one of those small circle of reddit? But nonetheless, Jaehaerys is a good king -- a bad father to be sure, but the great king Westeros had ever seen.

Jaehaerys the Conciliator, and Vermithor the Bronze Fury. Man, what a pair, both mighty and dope in their own way. King Jaehaerys, with the aid of a solid Small Council and his Good Queen Alyssane, led a golden age in Westeros for 55 years. Now that's a King

@@hariamsuleiman65 he never looked for his own benefit until Aegon was born and newsflash, Aegon is the true heir by Westeros lore. The show doesn’t really go into this much, but by literally all rights, Aegon was the true heir and Otto was just following the true succession.

Jaehaerys was a good king but there is NOT ENOUGH LOVE given for Alysanne. She was a fantastic queen. She was diplomatic, she was well-lloved and well liked, even tempered yet a fierce dragon rider. Her and Jaehaerys loved eachother so much that SilverWing and Vermithor loved eachother, much like Caraxes and Syrax later on... Alysanne was a badass, and she is a true testament to a fantastic Queen, evening out Jaehaerys and Vermithor perfectly to achieve peace in the realm.

Jaeherys is the only other Targaryen except Aegon himself to be the Dragon 🐉 Of course others displayed characteristics of the Dragon but only these two made title come to life. Respect for thé Old King and his Good Queen !

It always baffles me who become to next riders of Vermithor ans Silverwing. From all we know from the books and the shows it is obvious, that the dragons acceptence is vital for the formation of a bond. And that the dragons mostly choose riders with simular characteristics. The only exception, I can think of, is Balerion and Viserys, but at that point Balerion was so old and weak, he probably didn‘t have much resistance left in him. But suddenly kind and compassionate Alysannes dragon chooses a drunk and level-headed Jaehaerys dragon chooses a violent brute, both greedy and (SPOILER) later shown as treacherous.

Aegon may have willed the Seven Kingdoms into existence, but it was Jaehaerys who truly forged it into a functioning mechanism. He made it work with Fire and Blood. Jae was Westeros' first true monarch.

I also think it’s kind of funny ironic that Jaeherys’ stepfather is a Baratheon and their House words are Ours is the fury yet he never came close to Vermithor’s nickname The Bronze Fury as his was true Fury

Not really... They seemed to follow male primogeniture... It was Gaemon the son of Aenar and brother of Daenys who ruled, not Daenys. And it was Aegon who ruled before Visenya... and the story repeats itself with Jaehaerys and Viserys I. Its pretty clear that even less strict that the Andals on this matter, they still had a male-primogeniture preferred system, and this is even stronger since they were ruling an mainly Andal kingdom
