As a local Thai man, this is 100% true. You westerners need to be-careful with these freelancer bar girls. A lot of them are from Cambodia, Laos, as well as the local Thai girls. All they care about is your money and they will suck as much money as they can from all these westerners that are too gullible to believe how much they really care for them, but in reality these bar girls don’t give 100% about you all.

Just got back from four weeks in Chiang Mai. Spent 18 fun days with a bar girl I picked up on 9/9 to celebrate my 74th birthday. Spot on, Dr.Mark. I had an interesting encounter with a bar girl last month in Bangkok. As soon as she started paying me special attention I asked if she did this to all the guys. It's funny i had the same thing done to me but i flipped it, the girl spent two days with me, didn't mention any money, after two days of island hopping she says, she is working so i need to pay her. HOWEVER, she didn't realize she was dealing with an authentic F-boy, i gently took the money out, put it beside her purse, lit up a cigarette (in my room) sat in front of the window, and looked like my house got burned down, she asked me what happened, i said i thought we had something special, but now i realize it was just a business deal for her.
