Iga's serve motion no where near the same compared to last year.

@bestmusclevideo I'm a bit dissapointed about your statement about her results at AO - - very easy to find out through the WTA website! As an IGA fan you should have known this
@waynelee74212 ай бұрын
@BestMuscleVideo could you compare Iga's 2020 serve at the French Open to her current one? Her serve was much more of a weapon back then, why is that the case? Is any of this linked to changing racquets and strings? She was hitting aces with that Prince Textreme Tour 290.

Glad too see Iga always working on improving. Her serve.. And her game. A true champion. Open too always learning.. Well done Iga. We'll done champion. Fan. ❤ Support from south Africa

Iga's serve was the weakest part of her game until this year and she needed to make adjustments. The new service motion is much more economical and perhaps increases her consistency on 1st serve.

It is easy to notice some practical aspects of Iga´s service. It is quite efficient and easier to serve with the lower toss when the windy conditions can make the higher toss unstable (look at Sabalenka´s toss especially at Cancun). Iga´s shortened and still quick service motion enables her to cut the opponent's time to guess the direction of the serve, and time to react just then, during the return.

I like the new serve better. Less motion is usually better.

Yes, watching her play Tennis is joyous especially when she wins, hopefully the Technical changes are not because of injuries, She is indeed a delight to see knowing, winning every match is difficult.

She changed her serve to what we see now before AO 24, not just now.

There is no way I would recognize this. Shows the value of good pro color commentary and analysis.

It was extremely easy to spot for avid tennis players, but not for those who do not play the game.

I like this half serve. Eliminates a wasted motion that probably helps in her timing.

Think her tosh is much more stabel and therfore better , so I think the% has risen. Alweays remember that ones serv is not better than ones second serv.

what happens before the trophy position doesn't matter. this is just a superficial change. once she brings in her back foot, the stroke is virtually identical.

She made the semi finals at the AO in 2022 so definitely second week !!lost to a great Danielle Collins

You should check Polish articles about her. There is a great discussion in Poland and all the time everyone is eulogizing Iga, but one critical voice, and that from the first coach, started a nationwide discussion that everyone only praises her tennis, and no one dares to voice constructive criticism. Iga Swiatek has stopped in her development. This is the opinion of her first coach Artur Szostaczko. According to him, the Pole looked better athletically when she won Roland Garros for the first time, and that was in 2020. "She had more flair in her then". - admitted the trainer: "She had more flair in her then. She still scores great, but technically she still has some things to improve. She's still a young player, and that's why I urge her to develop her game towards more variety like slays, volleys and generally going to the net. Iga Swiatek has certainly mentally moved forward a bit, but in the game, she has not made much progress," he said. "Above all, her serve must be varied. Watching her recent matches, it was exactly evident that Iga serves her rivals the ball within the range of their racquet or, alternatively, they have to take one step with the returner. Did you see that when her serves to the right or left didn't go her way, Iga would serve to her rival's body? She, when approaching the line, must have a plan, know where to serve at a given moment and in what way. That way she will know 90 percent what kind of ball she will receive back later, and she will have an answer ready for that." To be honest he is not wrong.

What nonsense. Unless your source of information about tennis is Polish tabloids. There is and always has been criticism of her website. Just read the right sources
@Joseph-kf7ht2 ай бұрын
@@rayan69pl What are these "right" sources? It is absolute nonsense to believe that there are only 'right' sources of information.
@vojtasjedyny2 ай бұрын
Great discussion? It's ridiculous. Iga is world number 1 and there are suddenly few millions of tennis coaches who know more about the sport, Iga's body, mentality and results than her team. Szostaczko loves attention and he will say anything to get some. Either way his advice is useless, she has arguably the best team on tour.

Great analysis! Love to read that one day in brazillian press

In the trophy pose is her right foot too far to the right and too close to the left foot? Almost like a pin-point stance but not quite? If right foot is too far to the right, wouldn't she have less upper body rotation to right, generating less power. Hard to tell from the back TV angle but she looks to go up to contact fairly straight instead of into the court to get more of a spring motion. Could be cause I'm looking at a slice serve. I think her racket might go too far over her head getting to the racquet drop but that may not be a big deal. Just looking to understand "proper" mechanics and correct any misconceptions I have. I'd be amazingly happy if I could serve as well as Iga as is.
@tomsd86562 ай бұрын
This is not a good fix for her serve. What's needed is a more continuous motion, everything in sync, like a Serena Williams serve.
@elwiraludwikowska95762 ай бұрын
As 1GA said she is in the process of changing the serve. It takes some time. The serve did not slow down only the motion before the seve. She is seving around 190km/h. The clue is nit the speed nu the precision and she clearly stated that. She is not so much working on the speed but precision. Regards
@tomsd86562 ай бұрын
@elwiraludwikowska9576 Precision also needs decent speed. She needs a smooth service motion and good mechanics so the only thing she'd be thinking about when serving is where to serve, not how I am going to toss, to take the racket back, to jump, etc... so I don't miss.
@elwiraludwikowska95762 ай бұрын
@@tomsd8656 she has many games 40:0 with this new serve. I was precisely citing what 1GA was saying sbout tge service not pretending to be an expert. I have been playing amateur tennis at Flushing Meadows myself in the 70' though I would not dare to "coach" any player especially 1GA who has the best TEAM of professionals to coach her. Leave your thoughts to yourself. Regards

I'm glad she is not working on improving her mid point jumping jacks anymore.
@Kuba00022 ай бұрын
She basically did not learn to serve properly. There is no fluid motion, she goes with her hand first, then stops, toss the ball, then hits it, very strange for world No. 1 and not natural at all.
@johnbenevoli20662 ай бұрын
No, Iga coming to the net is NOT an interesting thought, its just your nonsensical mind overanalysing.. Why would the world's no1 WTA player, a natural baseliner, want to come to net? Obviously, you have no idea of what you're saying..
@vojtasjedyny2 ай бұрын
To shorten the points? To get better results on grass? To put more pressure on opponents? Iga won't be able to run like she does in her late 20's, so she needs to develop other weapons.
@johnbenevoli20662 ай бұрын
@@vojtasjedyny She already does that...on her terms, thats why she's number 1.

Iga swiateks serves is the worst a tennis player and a champion is!! This is the worst problem she has being number 1 is so rediculous because all her services is 25% good but 75% is so bad..that is why i only believed in her to win is 30% against sabalenka, rybakina, coco gauff, espacially against ostapenko!!! Iga is so afraid of hitting the net everytime she serves while all players serve like a true champion ... it is only luck brings her to a win!!!
