Does the Widow-R live up to the hype of it's big brother, the Viper-R? It has the same carpet material, template and fill but a different fast side. Check out the video to see if this is the bag for you.

Hey Mike agree with most of what your saying about this bag. I too wonder what this fast side would play like if is was the Widow fast side. I play in a doubles league on fast boards and this bag works so great for a hard thrower. The only time I have an issue is just like you are saying when the fast side becomes the slow side. That happens when the humidity level gets high and the fast slide becomes tacky. Luckily I know have a set of Viper R’s than I can change to for just those conditions. This combination of bags ( Widow R and Viper R ) is now my close to “ perfect “ lineup! Love your reviews and very detailed information and I can’t wait for more reviews and throwing tips as well!!! Keep up the great work!!

I agree with just about everything you mentioned. I don't really like the "fast side" either. Makes it too difficult to collect bags. They just pile up instead of collecting and going in. Thanks for you reviews, fan of the channel. 👍🏻

Thank you for the great content. I have BG Wizards on the way, not to eat up your time, but how do you rank the Vikings/Shapeshifters, and Wizards to your liking?

Viking, Wizard and then Shapeshifter. I didn't like the Shapeshifter. I think there are much better fast bag options. The Viking and Wizard are both great bags. Although, I have heard that the template is bigger on the new Vikings. I don't know if that's true. If it is, I don't know if it's intentional or a quality issue. I'm not so sure a larger template Viking would be as good a bag. I feel the smaller template fits that bag perfectly.

I’ve played with both window and viper rs and the viper carpet side definitely seems faster and doesn’t kick is as much for me at least. Widow for me seems more like a traditional carpet bag and viper r seems like some hybrid.

It is the same carpet on both bags. The difference in play comes from the difference in the amount of fill in the bags. The Widow-R are a fuller bag and will kick more by they are easier to cut and push with. The Viper-R is floppy and that reduces the kick.

Do you know if they've switched to the regular widow fast side on the newer releases? based off pictures i've seen it looks like they did but haven't thrown any of the newer releases to know fursure. would be a perfect bag for me if they did lol

I don't know. I haven't thrown another set of these. If you think this would be a perfect bag, then check out the Swag Bag KaBoom bags. Those are better than these. They are also cheaper and typically available.

Hey Mike, would the Widow B be a good bag for rolling?? Wondering what you think.. looking for a good roll/flop bag around a 4 speed with still a fast side of 8 or 9. Appreciate your reviews and time. Thank you

The Widow B has the same fast side as the Widow which is the same as the Viking & Pro Advantage fast side. It is a 7 speed material. The fill in the Widow B is not a roll friendly fill. It can be rolled but it's not as easy as other bags. I would recommend the Kontraband Kombats (4/8 speed) or WTF Tangos (4/9). The Fly Magic (4/8) is another option.

here from the widow X video. on that video you stated they should have stuck with the same side as the the R, but they flipped it, but this video, you're stating they should have flipped and used the reverse side. which one is it? lol

Maybe I misspoke. All these stupid letter designations make it confusing. 😆 The Widow-R and Widow-X have the same fast side. It's the reverse of the Widow fast side. I wish they had used the same side of the material that is used on the Widow.

Widow X uses the same slow side as the Psycho X. It's a linen material. Plays a little faster than the carpet on the Widow R. I'll have a review up for the Widow X in a couple weeks.

That was me mocking Ultra for their inconsistencies in the naming of their bags. I had to refrain from getting into too much detail in the video. If the R refers to the carpet material, then why didn't they use a different letter for the Vapor-R since it's a different carpet material? I know quite a few people that bought the Vapor-R thinking it was the same carpet. They weren't happy when they got the bags. Same thing with the Vipor and Widow names. If Ultra is going to use that name, they should use the matching material. It's very misleading.
