I had a similar story... 5 months after we split... I got my dream job with a major air carrier... 40 years later... and retired as a multi-millionaire in a paid off mini mansion (6000 sq ft on the golf course next to a lake) and she is got a few more husbands under her belt as she lives single in the dregs of massachusetts... well done cindy

My older brother went through something similar to this a few years ago. His ex-wife dumped him for a guy who fell into a generous inheritance, which he squandered within months. The ex forgot, however, the basic truth that he who cheats *with* you will cheat *on* you. When she came back sobbing and groveling, my brother listened to her entire outpour, then replied simply, "No, thank you."

Story is stupid. He bought the home before signing her divorce papers, so it is a joint marital asset so she still gets half the new home and half his pay for alimony. The money used to buy the home would have been considered a marital asset, so once again she gets HALF. He didn't win sh*t in this fictional story situation. She also gets a "pay raise" aka more alimony with his new raise. If you don't have a great wife today, today's modern women are not worth marrying.
