Kept wondering what she meant be Cookie Monster and then realized it's the growling lol, I have heard alot of that over the years but the first time anyone said that about that style of metal and it had me laughing. You said suggestions at the end and I'm guessing she would like metal with clean vocals so i was thinking Soungarden-Outshined for a request.

She might like Dance With the Dragon by Dark Sarah. It has a story to it. No growling. And dancing, don't forget the dancing... waltz anyone?

Three bands I either don't mind growls or actively like them are Unleash the Archers, Epica and Scar Symmetry. Other than those three I can't think of a band where I actually like the growls, which is unfortunate since there are a number of bands where I love everything except for the vocalist, which tells me that either the way they are implemented in a song or the way the singer themselves do the growling makes a difference to me. UtA has started to use less growls in their songs in their more recent stuff though.

Have your wife react to "Northwest Passage" by Unleash The Archers ..If that song doesn't work on her, nothing will!!
